Hang in there Mike, loosing family is difficult and for me an uncomfortable experience. DO think about the good stuff and remember him for who he was. As time passes it will get better, best wishes.

I could be wrong but I am not sure that the 396 will mount the same way as any sbc. Some one who know's for sure chime in here.

Summit has short and long blocks chevy ford and dodge v-8's in their latest special catalog that I got this week.

I put some 240 pannells on the back of my 260 (like the 280 taillights) to see what needed to be done, several of the plasic rivits matched up on top and I guess the lenses would have been a bit of work to seal off completely, but they would fit in the larger 280 holes. So I am pretty sure you can put 240 lights in a 280 with no sheet metal rework due to the larger holes in the 280 rear pannels. I can only guess the oposite is required when going the other way, putting the larger 280 lights in a 240 rear...

Thanks for the kind words! I thought I would try to get to work today but when I woke up without any pain meds in the system, all I could do was lie there. Just about any movement is painfull and I have to be very cautious or I am reminded with very sharp pains. With the meds, (Panilor and Flexeril) there is still pain but the rest of my body is almost totally numb! I can't focus on much and it's pretty boring here at home. No cable, USUALLY no internet, I can't even play on my last project, the pool table! . Luckily I have a loner on-call laptop that I can log on with I am really bored and numb and there is much to be done in the Garage, so any of you that feel sorry enough for me can feel free to come on over and whip this car into shap, I will supply beer, pizza, panilor, flexeril whatever it take I will take it easy and see how she goes. It seems as if someone or something keeps wanting to keep me from finishing the JTR project! So we are in the boat, tubing (me on the tube) have loads of fun and this tube is slowly loosing pressure. I go outside the wake in a big U turn and there isn't much of the tube left and I can only hold the rope so long. I realize I am going to get ditched so I let go and prepaired to hit the water and at the moment I hit the water, it was like someone had hit me in the ribs with something VERY LARGE! I can barely breath and my buddies help me out of the water, pull off the life jacket and my ribs on the left side are about an inch farther out than the ones on the left... hmmm sometiing aint right. Go to the hosptal and they say there was no need to xray since I was breathing fine and such. I just tore the muscle and maybe a small fracture. My wife drove in to take me home and get me some drugs, so here I am. May take a couple of days off work since the perkoset and muscle relaxers keep me out of a car. The pain is constant and something keeps poppin in and out if I get to active and hurts a LOT when that happens. So anyway, just thought I would share my excuse for not working on the Z for at least a week. This shit is painful! Also, I decided that this injury should have been avoided if I were in better shape so back to the gym I go. Ugh, this sucks! Later....

FINALLY, a car other than the crown vic (which has not changed since 1982) worthy of police abuse! They may need to put some taller series tires on it to hop curbs though...

I looked into small claims and from what I could tell, I have very little understand of legal maters, in OK you can take someone to small claims court if the transaction took place with in the state. I was unsure since I went to TX to purchace this item. Also, I was told of the 'buyer beware' law that basically says on used equipment, you buy it and that's it. I don't really have the specifics and this amount of money wasn't worth the time and $$ it would take to persue regaurdless. I really appretiate all the information and suggestions you gave me on this matter Mike. I am glad that you and others at the site were supportive in this matter, it took alot of the sting out. Additionally, I am happy that it is ALL over. Any of you looking to buy any parts from me, I will do my best to represent their condition... TRUST ME

Sorry, I guess I should have mentioned this in the post. This post wasn't to show that I have stuff to sell, it was to show that you can't trust too many people, SOMETIMES not even a HybridZ brother.
