  1. GREAT FALLS, Virginia is what I meant, sorry. You can walk to the falls from my uncles house. Really cool little town.
  2. Yep, if you worked at it and earned what you got, never feel guilty. Everyone has opportunites, regaurdless of whether they take them or even recognize them. ENJOY!
  3. Happy B-Day! 28 here too! The years are passing by more quickly but I think if I could slow down time I wouldn't, at least not yet, because I want my Z to be finished
  4. That is very cool! Would love to go for a ride in that!!! What are your plans for the other LS1? Z? Oh yeah, how far is Grand Rapids from where you are, I have an uncle there, and my wife and I might be planning an east coast road trip later this year. Just wondering.
  5. Wife sent me that yesterday. We noticed that the aution received 20,000 hits in about 20-30 min!!!!
  6. They (or I) inverted two numbers in my street adress on my first order, so I called and had it corrected. Second order, months later, was also delayed due to the same typo. Other than that, everything seemed fairly smooth.
  7. There are two types of 260's, early and late. The early style go up to a certain VIN number, not sure which but if you search around you can find it. The early style also has the smaller type bumpers I think. If you supply your VIN to the vendor they should be able to get you the right parts. Early = 240 style suspension Late = 280 style
  8. When I pull the DRY FIT motor out of my car SOMEDAY, I will measure all the lengths of bolts I used. I cut some to length. No promises on a date.
  9. That was a good thing, no interuptions from anyone, except corvette guy I am looking forward to getting some help when the time comes. (SOON HOPEFULLY) Although I am bad about asking for help, I hate to intrude on others free time, etc... But anyone itching to come buy, I will gladly supply beer of choice, and a stool or a wrench It will be nice to have someone around to appretiate the car, my buddies and wife are supportive but, really have little interest in it. PS just found out this weekend will be spent in the YARD Beer is still up for offer on anyone wanting to help there
  10. Yep that is all finished Worked for about 4-5 hours on it last Saturda ALONE! My neighbor stopped buy a couple of times with words of wisdom and stories of his 60 somthing corvette. Good guy, just kind of in the way sometimes. Sheesh, I need a HYBRID guy next door! Jeff, Dos?
  11. Man, sounds very nice. I am sure it is alot of work, but you wouldn't be doing it if you didn't enjoy some or all of the aspects. That is alot of jack, enjoy it. Guy's like you do make it better for guys like me, when you get done with your old toys, we can get them at a discout Good luck with your new prospects.
  12. Here is the dry block and trans, heads sitting on top, garage sale headers and ebay intake in the Z.
  13. Nothing, as long as it isn't the color of a vinal top on a green car! Some company had to have made them as kits, does anyone have any information on this odd ball peice of Z history?
  14. Definatly, WAVES! I will see whats going on this weekend adn give you a holler if I need anythign. The same offer is extended to you, if you need any help (more like a helper) let me know. I try to do as much as I can alone but some help now and again is good.
  15. Cool, I will holler at you, the clutch is hydro. So what do you need to get your project back on track? A swift kick or are you trying to make decisions before you move on? Would like to see your pretty suspension parts
  16. That's funny, I thought the 260 was all it had going for it
  17. I bought a Paniless kit, wasn't the cheapest way but, I did it all myself and it all works! I had no prior experience. Figureing out all the leads from the combo switch (EVERYTHING WORKS BY THE WAY! ) was the hardest part, it took a couple of weekends Granted my car is not my daily driver YET, but it wasn't too bad and many of the guys that have rewired their cars will agree. You will loose alot of the complexity and redundant wiring if you do this. Plus underneath my dash is now almost completly EMPTY! All those relays and whatever else was under there, no longer needed.
  18. yeah! Glad you are ok, cars will come and go
  19. an aquantence of mine is a generator repair guy that travels all over the US doing maint on them. The fleet is all F-350's with the 5.4L Triton V-8's, they are loaded with tools and and oil change pump for the gen's. He sais they have trucks in the fleet with 350-450K miles on them and they are running strong. This guy is a chevy guy so to hear him say this was a testament to me. I have always liked ford better but it really is a matter of pref. Oh yeah the new F150s have QUEIT STEEL, whatever the hell that is
  20. Not a 240 but 307.995 (191.3544 MPH) is impressive. http://www.trial.co.jp/osaka/konzyaku/images/z_3.jpg
  21. Well chicks may not be able to sit on it but you can Dukes it across the hood like nothing else
  22. Thanks Jeff Well the hoist is working out great! BUT it is going to show a LITTLE wear. I have been doing most of this alone so it is almost imposible to avoid a couple of bumps and bruises. I was going to get with you about carpet now that I have my Xmember installed. I can start putting the interior back together. Man I am excited! I would like some help with the brakes and the clutch stuff. Brakes are leaking from somewhere and the clutch is , well , i really don't know too much about that at all I am having a hard time getting ahold of the guy that sold me the Vortec, but I think that is the way it is going to be, he is a wheeler dealer. Said he would find me another block, but I need to talk to him. Although if anyone finds a good shortblock, I could be in the market.
