  1. VERY NICE WORK!!! THAT IS JUST... COOL! I would like to see FAT tires in the front too but it's your car right? STILL, I like that rear valance!!!
  2. I have to say it would be cool to be able to swap engines and maybe paint the car a different color than you reccieve as a prize, but all that is really a waste of time and I would get bored with it. Just like getting new wheels, cool for a while but you kind of forget about it and go on to wanting to beat the game. That's me. The CHOICE of cars is huge now so if you can't find something you like then there's a problem, even on the demo game, just a different array of the cars added. One thing about damage, I liked the though of that and havng to pay to get your car fixed but it would surely drain your account FAST! In "prologue" if you hit a wall too hard, you get a 10 sec power penalty and can't go over 50 KPH. Some NEW choice cars Previously mentioned Fairlady 240, you can literally slide this car all over the track Maclaren F1 !!! Which is fast and smooth! RX8 which is pretty raspy and has crappy brakes Honda Oddesy mini van, WTF? bunch of little econo POS cars, why do they waste disc space with these? are there really any racer enthusiats with the dream of driving these 1.0L terds???? As you can tell I have been playing, only a couple more LONG driving shcool tests to pass. Will see what we get for doing that.
  3. nissan stagea wagon 260rs I guess is what that wagon was. I want one! like this but the one on the vid had a GTR front clip...
  4. I bought my "SLIDER" and boot disks that allow you to play "BACK UPS" and imports. You don't have to open your box but you do have to take the front off of the CD tray door. I saw a japanese version PS2 with a handfull of games go for about 150,not a bad deal if you need a second. I would try to get the UK version of "Prologue" on ebay if you want it in english. They were more than the chinese version 30 vs 20. I am happy with it though, most of the navigation is done with icons and is in english anyways, only some of the intro is in chineese and some of the text. Not a really big deal. OH YEAH, did any of you all know that there is a skyline WAGON? after I got through the first half of the demos driving shcool, it played a "making of video" and one of the track/camera cars was a wagon with a skyline fontend on it. What a cool grocery getter!!!
  5. Ummm YEAH!!! That is very slick, can you post some more pics of the interior and the pillar vents???
  6. The short block currently has a solid roller. i will be happy with it. I just read the artical in PHR this month on solid rollers and I am now no longer afraid of them. thanks!
  7. I am fixing to buy a shortblock with solid roller lifters and I want to make sure I know what I am getting into. This is the motor that Storm280ZT is selling. On DD200 I ran his set up with my vortec heads and performer intake and it showed 400 ft/bls and 375 hp at the crank. Way more than I need so I am happy. Back to the lifters, for a daily driver are these solids ok or do I need to invest in a set of hydralic roller. I have confidence that I can set the lash, I just want to know how often I will need to do this and what the pro's con's are with hyd vs solid roller lifters. Should I also invest in a set of roller rockers? Is it worth the extra $300 or can I upgrade to them later. Try to build this on a budget.
  8. Dunno, was supposed to be 4/04/04 but there was something wrong with the steering wheels not working right, i think they pushed it back to november, that is why I got the Chineese version HAR!! Yeah, between my pool table project, honeydoo's, and 'other stuff' the Z isn't moving along too quickly. I am going to buy STORM280ZT's short block so that should help alot!!! Once I get that and buy my clutch parts this thing should get moving a little better. Funds have also become an issue so now I am having to save up before I buy stuff. I'll get there!! David tell ya what, you come by sometime and well see how we allocat our time, working on a Z in the heat or Playing GT4, driving the Farilady or 350Z in the grand canyon and then in newyork! :)
  9. So have there been any other testamonials for this method? I am fixing to buy a shortblock with solid roller lifters and I want to make sure I know what I am getting into. 10. Well after over 2 weeks of waiting I finally got to play GT4 "Prologue" on my PS2. That's right! I have been waiting for the MODCHIP.COM slider card and boot disks, they took over 2 weeks to ship. They didn't tell me they come all the way from sweeden!!! Anyway, my buddy and I went halves on the game from china, import. It was worth it, the graphics are astounding! I can't belive with the same hardware that they could evolve the graphics so much. The backgrounds and sceenery are what changed the most, the replays are like watching somthing real. Very sweet. This "Prologue" version is basically a sampling of what the full gt4 will have. Has 5 tracks and about 50 some cars which you have to unlock about half of. There is a driving school that makes up most of the game, got 3/4 through that last evening. I got to drive the silver NISMO 350Z with the red and black graphics and a fairlady 240, very cool. I am looking forward to unlocking everything. I need a wide screen tv though because the default format looks to be 16:9. So I will have to take it to my friends house and play on his HGTV to see if the picture gets any better on that. Still very cool!!! Even if almost all the text and language is in chineese!!! Thought i would share
  11. My 260 was fine untill warm weather came and the previous owner had also removed the thermostat. SO you can do what I did, take the entire car apart and start over JK I am scratchin my head on that easy out, never had one of those break. They are tool steel so it SHOULD pull out if you could get some vice grips on it. Of course it shouln'dt have broken in the first place! I was going to say you could try to shatter it like you can some taps that break but I dunno if that would work. If you know a local machine shop or know a machinist, most of them have dealt with this and can help you. Just be carefull with that aluminum.
  12. I will start trying to convert the purists by blowing by them on the next track day Will see how it goes.
  13. So the kit doesn't neccessarily like up everything like it is supposed to be? If I need the slots to align then I will put them in. I really didn't want to but oh well. I personally have the early F body bell housing. SO what creates the shear loads with this housing?
  14. The emtpy block and T-5 are sitting in mine rith now. The bell housing is bumping up against some of the brake line mounting brackets on the top of the trans tunnel. Don't think I can move it back any. This is in a 260 coupe
  15. My wife's aunt has one in her garage that she is for some reason holding on to. Please document your swap, I can probably get the car for free!
  16. I need to tune up the register in my drivers side door. I have never messed with one before. Currently you have to pull up on the rear of the window to smoothly roll it up. Any tips or suggestions would be great. I also need to replace the inner felting, is there a good supply source or are they all about the same. Seen some on ebay, guess I will comparison shop. thanks
  17. About what it looks like now...
  18. These are important issues like who supplies beer, and who types up an agenda. Is there more to it than that?
  19. Sounds like a great idea, I may be interested in forming a hybrid chapter here in OK. There are now 4-5 hybrid Z's in the Tulsa area that I know of, more I am sure, and even more elsewhere in OK. The first time I went to a OKZCCA Meet last fall, every single guy I talked to told me not to put the V8 in the car, that it would ruin it. So if that is how they feel, so be it. I would rather hang with the Hybrid crowd anyhow.
  20. Shoulda rolled down your window and said "YO you wanna get schooled BEEATCH?" This is where you slide the clutch out and run along side him sideways for abit, then just leave him.
  21. I would so be there if I had some frequent flier miles or worked for AA or somthin! Have a good time. Mike/Quick, the next time I am heading out that way, will see if we can hook up.
