  1. Last night was awesome... Well, I knew that it was going to happen sometime, old original turbo that lived a pretty hard life, with a owner frequently messing with the boost. I was hanging out late night at my buddies shop and one of the guys there had a 350z and I got sick of him talking about his alarm system and air intake, something about the way he was talking about his car like it was the only z was getting on my nerves. We start talking about z's and the guy is even trying to bag on the twin turbo! I tell him at 7psi I should be able to hang on his bumper( giving him false confidence and boosting what he thinks is right, ive already raced a 350z at 7psi and its door to door ) (Ive already been through a couple of z33s at the street races, I can win) (too bad for him i was running 12.5-13psi ) I call him out to take a quick race, and we go... Man cant drive his car, it was ridiculous, in two runs back to back... We go, first time, he thinks he can leave at idle and use the torque to pull me, NOPE. I leave the line hard back peddling feathering and stabbing and grab an entire car length on him in second, and hold the car length. Second time he gets better at it and trys to launch a little harder, and its funner this time because we both have next to no hook but im better at getting the car to hook up and I pull by a little less than the car length, but almost an identical race as the first except the launching. Fun indeed and the z33 guy started talking about a supercharger, and I just kept smiling. Then I look over, and I smell oil and see blue smoke out the exhaust. Pulled the car into the shop and pulled the jpipe---bloody...! YES, no internal damage!!!! z33 guy starts laughing at me until I tell him he just got ran with a 30year old car with a busted turbo, B17C#!. Let the car cool down for a few and turned it back on, smaller puffs of smoke but stinky, and drove it about 6miles to my garage. MSD I think let that happen, because this turbo is GONE and I had very little misfire on the way home from all the oil... alls well that ends well.. So I will be upgrading the turbo, probably a 60-1 stg 3 hybrid or maybe smaller. Body work is about 60percent done on the car just been taking it easy, easy meaning slow. OH well, last time Im driving the z for a little while, no biggie, by next year should have lotsof cool gadgets.. Havent been driving the z for some time, been looking for a good 240sx because I want to go to drift track events and dont want to subject my z to the realities of clutch kicking and other doggage. Z is getting made into a good old school gt car, 240sx will get suspension and steering modifications along with brakes and a racing seat so I can sideshow at the track, and later on probably sr20det-guess im just getting old....   3. I love the s15, sure it has grand prix looking tailights but look at how they go into those quarters! An importer buddy of mine registered something like that jdm and in nevada because it was a "kit car"-like that one is right?
  4. I would love to see an Lt1 turbo, but I can see it get exponentially expensive due to custom fab this and that, but 500hp isnt hard with that much motor and a turbo. Im staying L28et for me, im lazy I guess, low 13s from a 2.8 without an intercooler-I AM HIM!
  5. Spec stg2 here, 240mm type. Works good, suprised me at first its lighter pedal feeling than the Daikin clutch it replaced. Hasnt slipped since I broke it in. Good on clutch forks... hadnt slipped with drs either.
  6. L28et is a tough sucker thats for sure, on stock injectors ive run 15psi balls out at the street races, with 7gallons of 100 race gas at 50psi static fuel pressure (idle) and the almighty Jpipe! My next engine Im thinking of going pure 80s style on, 6.9 or 7.0cr with head studs and a thick thick steel headgasket, what can I say im cheap.
  7. You would need to swap out the entire rear subframe with the shocks to be able to use the hicas, which most people disable or use a stillen brace to bypass.
  8. the casing of the ecu is a different color. autobox is green 5ps is black

  10. might be a little narrower, but that car is running 15x13 inch wheels in back 15x10 in front. Been in it once, it was nice. Thanx for the gnose photos, man I love a gnose-With some type of flare of course... I think it looks funny without a flare of some sort, even Mr.Ks!
  11. Yeah I like this turbo stuff, I actually was contemplating v8 again for a while, but I like breaking stuff with the nissan parts I live by like 50 junkyards in a 50mile radius. Best kill so far was defeating a JTR 240z...In a Turbo280Baby!

  13. mods for l28 turbo I would either do a SEARCH in the turbo forum, or just browse around the turbo forum, youll find a bit too much info there.
  14. stock turbo motor here is 7.4-1, kinda low but it works great. 8-1 would be about as high as I would be willing to go here in CA-home of the bad gas.
  15. I think it depends on hp goals as well. Ive heard great things about a 60-1 stage 3 t3/4b and a better flowing downpipe. 16psi is over 300rwhp close to 400ft with tuning of course and hits just a little lighter initial onset of boost than the stocker, but it comes on full right at 3000. Im probably going that route, as a good buddy of mine is close to 11s on a stock turbo motor with that turbo, and I usually use what I see run fast in front of my eyes.
  16. p90a headed turbo motor runs QUIET... I think its a good setup.

  18. I wish I would have taken my own favorite advice and just swapped the turbo out. 370cc is good upgrade I think, theres a set on zcar.com going for a good price.
