  1. While cranking with voltmeter on B/W it goes from 12v to 0v like its reversed or something, but the wiring wasnt touched prior to testing?? Weird one I know. Everything else checks out fine except for that, we even did the resistance checks and the start signal test in the fsm, ask me again why I went Haltec?
  2. My buddy is having the same issue as we speak. No spark can be a hard one I think. Swapped transistors, coils, and tested pins from ecu, all are giving power where they should be yet no spark???
  3. Ive had a heater hose on my drain back for a year now with no issues and reused the factory hose clamp, works well, but a high pressure hose will replace it. Silicone is best for that hose, but the factory hose is rubber also.
  4. nice work. youll probably have yours done before I get mine running again! V-MOUNT V-MOUNT...
  5. 16s and a good tire will give you a good ride, but you may hear the road a little more, but it wont be bad at all. 225/50-16 all around rides really good in a zx, ive run 225/45/17 in my zxt before and loved it, but yes I did hear the road a little more but that was to be expected. Handling was good with the 17s as well. I ran 205/55-16 on the back of my z and it was great too, didnt notice much if any difference driving wise on the 16s vs 205-60-15 that is on the car now, I personally like 215/60-15 on the stock zxt wheels, rides good enough for me, but im not a guy for the turns as much as I love a straightaway.
  6. I missed out big the other day, there was a 87 turbo with everything but the diffy Im going to try out a phantom grip though, hopefully it will let me drift. Have an 3.7 tt r230 with cvs and the driveshaft (BEEF) and may or may not do that swap later, that thing is huge...
  7. Only have one extra car right now, my 91 civic gas sipper. If I can get 50k more miles out of it, the little suckers gonna earn his B16a. If I have to do any major work to the sucker before that time it stays stock. Right now im practicing my presidential uturns and everyones favorite more D-BRAKING....
  8. My buddy once ran a 225mm Z clutch in his 240sx, i dont think the 240mm would pose a problem. Those trannies are pretty strong, and you can get a B&m short shifter for them that works GREAT. I would rate the tranny at least as strong as a turbo t5, but more available. Im gonna check out Mr. Armish, the price is right and those trannies go for almost nothing, even with a motor still attached to them!
  9. you can use just the coil, its just like any coil except it looks cooler i think. good idea to swap out both, makes replacement easier since plenty of z31 cars turbo and na that use the same transistor. coil is just positive and negative, cant remember too clearly but one of the wires is the same color off the coil, and the one that is different goes to the other side of the coil, only two possible combos not hard at all. z32s use individual coil packs.
  10. Its just a coil, good thing is that on a z31 you can pull a bracket off it that holds both coil and transistor, and then find a way to bolt it into same place as the z with the stock coil bolt holes. get the thing by itself, man its just a coil...
  11. id go with the carbs, keep it simple with the NA. turbo boost is very nice though.
  12. no- I voted for WANGSTA, cause you are one jh/k im still hopefully going to be ready for your 13btt, got race map?
  13. dont take nothing off the list, sounds good to me. warm weather is ok, turbo timer can help with that, you may need to take boost down a little bit though. what fuel setup?
  14. I like the team dynamics, straight fit nice wheel. panasport, nice wheel but theres too many z cars with them Konig-I cant see myself running them, every zx in my side of town sports a set. good wheel for the price i must say. you really cant go wrong with the three i think.
  15. Was checking out the local street races (z is down for upgrades right now, just watching now and perfecting the E brake drift in my new 91 civic. Anyways the runs sucked, but this sucked even worse. Im driving down this one street with the pack around me and a mk3 supra and a s13 start getting into it. The mk3 was fast and I heard the two downshift and start going at it, Supra starts pulling and KABOOM, white smoke starts pouring out the exhaust. I had my window down and got a great whiff of the stuff, antifreeze and something I had never thought of before, That smoke is HOT as heck! It was like putting your head over a pot of boiling water or something. Anyways followed the guy up to the gas station to check it out, and asked him, "first one?" He said "Yup" I said, "happens" He said "Yeah I know, just wanted to blow my original one to see if the rumors were true." They are.
  16. any z31 coil, i think they are the same coil. I have a bunch of them, they look identical to the ka24 engined cars as well, and the later vg30 maximas with quad cam. I like it, im gonna hook a 6al to one and let the sparks fly. easy to wire up, wiring half matches 280zx, one is blue that goes to same place, the other one is different color splice it in it will crank. I like the "import" look of the thing too
  17. Yeah, microtech is very very nice. Heart is stuck on haltech though, just because I know pretty well how to get the sucker running and somewhat understand the tuning procedures for it. I have lower hp goals I guess, 300rwhp daily, maybe a race tune map but I will be happy with a consistent 300hp and see what breaks.
  18. Didnt go with that setup, although I do like it. Had a t3 to t4 adapter drilled the t3 side straight thru and countersunk the holes, got shorter studs and it bolts on. Adapter acts as a spacer. 2" maybe smaller pipe L shape welded in between 5 and 6, needs more welding. Should be fun soon...
  19. pricing is almost same as haltech, zcarsmakemyheadhurt is doing a group buy on them over the next two weeks or something like that.
  20. 3 yrs posting in this forum
  21. microtech is pretty similar to haltech if you run the six coil and external cas setup, allowing for individual cylinder timing and full sequential injection. Havent been able to find too much on microtech, but full bolt on setups are goign to be available soon for the L6. Haltech is almost like wiring up an amp after you get the distributor hooked up and use a MSD as an ignitor. Im taking it slower than I initially was going to go with the haltec install, but it should be done in a few weeks from now.
  22. I ever get to the point where the nissan trannies start failing me quickly, out comes the t10...
