Innovative Turbo Systems Ex Wastegate flange.
fl327 replied to fl327's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Yeah, its a slick piece and hopefully it solves a few things for me. The only guy I know that tigs doesnt trust himself with cast iron and im scared of crappy work on something like this, so that piece will do the job hopefully. Overboost.com sells it for 112.00, I think thats very reasonable! Im going to call them later this week and ask them for a t3 on one side and t4 flange on the other, shouldnt be much more hopefully. Ive been doing my research on setting up the t4 and so far its been the best looking prospect yet. I think its a t3 flange standard. -

http://innovativeturbo.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.cgi/00196.1.635694651863228247 I think its here, its definitely on their site though, they have some cool stuff. Now that I look at it I think it will work, since they probably make their wastegates to go where a tial or turbonetics used to be. -
very nice guages, Ive been wanting egt/boost in the same guage for years now, but man, the prices are outrageous, more than a whole slew of autometers!!

I have to make a downpipe anyway, the T04e has a 3" Vband flange on the end, not a four bolt flange. OH man, open wastegate dump with a motorcycle muffler sticking out behind the front wheel, oh boy!!! Anyone know if wg flanges match? -
Maybe some of the bolts are loose? Even if its warped, unless its extremely warped, it should seal pretty good, I can imagine a little leak, but man that pan has like 40 small bolts holding it on!!

83 trans is good one. 83 is a 3.9 79 trans is a good spare 79 weird year for rear gear, couldnt tell ya.

Ive found on my car when the guages are working right, they read kinda high, and when the sender leads are dirty or going out, they read low. I run 10-30w synthetic and 2 10-30w non synthetic. Works good and made a small leak I had a miniscule one. Yes I know, its better to run synthetic fully, but I change my oil what seems like once a month sometimes, so when I buy a 6pack of synthetic, it lasts two changes. Just me. These turbo cars are the only cars Ive ever driven that felt like they get faster with an oil change, makes sense it would though.

They lag a bunch if it has a turbo thats supporting big HP. My buddy has a t51r on his sr20det with cams and headwork, doesnt get full boost until third gear, he runs the stock 4.08 gearing in his sx. He sucks at drag racing but got 116mph trap in the 1/4!!! Fast though Ill give it that, I had him beat good out the gate and through second widening the gap, but in third he opened up the back door and just destroyed me, from 70mph on though. I thought he was playing with me, but he told me he had to launch his car hard and drive hard to do that, and man was he gone in third, thing BLEW past me. He shifts that sucker at 8200 or something crazy like that too. If youre looking for mild 300hp that you can use daily and get boost quick, RB all the way for me, its what I want to do next after Im done with L28et fun and putting together a driveline that will take 300hp from the L motor. SRs are pretty hot, RBs are on FIRE...

There is an ad for them in the latest sport compact car. Old school must be coming back now 13" mags are available for a lot of cars, im happy. Anyways, its in the discount tire center spread on the right side. They show a wheel and its a got a 4lug pattern!!! The deal is 1209.00 for a set of 17x9 with 275/40/17, thats a screaming good deal. I know the offset is wrong but the price and lug pattern is right, and I couldnt find anything about these wheels on line and the discount tire website hasnt updated to include specs on these. The wheels look cool I think, volk knockoff looking. Anyone?

Wondering if anyone runs one of these, they make an adapter/spacer deal that I am looking into using in order to finally use the t04e on my car, and I want to use my tial wastegate since I already have it. Im wondering if anyone uses one or knows if the flanges are compatible. Yeah, last years last race has me going for the big guns

I would buy the whole car if its still running, thats the best way to make sure all that stuff works right. Working with a harness that got cut anywhere is a PITA. JWT will make you swap out to the zxt harness before any of their ecu setups will work. Assuming to get the right components to wire up zxt efi and you paid 500, jwt is another 600 or more before you have anything installed, easily putting you in Haltec, Sds, etc..standalone management range, and 300-??? is a lot easier and safer with the standalone system. I think going standalone is your best bet when I think about it. Look into Sds or Haltec, there is a group buy going on Sds in the non tech forum maybe thats an option for you. I would first tune the car, Ive seen setups like yours that didnt run bad at all, but the owners admitted to them being a little finicky, which is the case most of the time using NA harness for the turbo ap, which I think should work well and its something I have planned for a future car when I finally hook up the Haltec and make my 300+hp!!!

280Z rear panel please

Front clip for all engine stuff. Factory efi on those isnt bad at all, but then I have a biased view, I have like 100 hours or more of staring at Datsun/Nissan wiring from 1970-1996 cars, and using Nissan factory harnesses and screwing with them too much. Johnc, betamotorsports.com i think, made some mounts and was talking about making some more.

Or when he is back working at Kmart and the monsters try and get him one more time and he takes em out, and turns around to the lady and says "gimmie some sugar baby" is classic.

Its because Im Jspec!

such a great series of movies there... so good.

240sx hands down. gts goes for too much, might be different out on east coast, but here they go for way too much for a high mileage car.

Eh, you win some you lose some, not a big deal. Maybe that will speed up my decision whether or not to stay with this engine or go with another turbo motor, hmmm. The guys down there actually finished some work? Those guys take a long time, but work is good, hey can you take some photos of Kevins car, man that guy is going nuts on that z! Hey wondering if I can still get the spark wires off that car, I have some other cool stuff I could trade you, the line lock is installed:D Did they primer the entire car as well?

WTF - Accelerating hard under boost and engine shuts off!

what kind of car is this? Sounds like a zxt problem to me, here are my two proven first diagnostics Reset the ecu Check the tps sounds like bad connection. -
I think you definitely have a right to be pissed, really pissed. It seems like your friend that works on your car is ok, but his ASSistant sounds like a complete jerk. Part of how I was trained to work on cars is to leave them looking BETTER than they came in, and running BETTER than they look. The guy working on your car and treating it like crap is a reflection of what he thinks about you and how much he respects you and the hard earned money it took to pay for the work being done, part of being a good mechanic is being able to work on a car and leave the "scent" like you were never there, which he is eithe incapable of or just plain stupid, sounds like both to me. I was working for a guy whose business is all word of mouth (body, paint, basic and high performance mechanical+fabrication) , so we would go to lengths higher than a "normal" shop to ensure that customer satisfaction is met or exceeded. My old boss started out as a sidejob mechanic much like the guy you probably get work done from, but by keeping his standards high, he built a large network of clients who refer their friends and family, generation after generation. He isnt typical of the evolution of the sidejobber, he is the one true sucess story that I know of in a sea of wannabes, like dirtmeister who phucked up your car. Just my thoughts, Happy New Year (even though I dont celebrate official until Feb!)

He had a mitsubishi turbo upgrade and apexi intercooler that he told me about. Im not sore about losing that one, car was hauling butt! Probably low 13 high 12s car on street tires. With the upgraded turbo and a few bolt ons that thing could have had anywhere from 300-? awhp. Good tip about learning from the faster guys though.

I think L28et is the better swap if you arent into fabbing up mounts and such. Mechanically its removal and reinstallation, only semi-hard thing is the efi wiring, but its not bad at all. Ive done three wiring jobs, Ill have a car running with it in a day, but the harness will look like and run like factory and be very very small, as ive learned what needs to be there and what doesnt, and learned how to bypass a lot of the funny loops that the harness takes.

And I had to lose ! Anyways was driving around and this funny hatchback car rolls up next to me in San Jose, rhd! Freaking Sunny GtiR pulls up to me and the jspec older owner is smiling at me, he heard my boost and I saw him get on it to catch up to me at the light. For those who dont know, a Sunny gtiR is a 4wd honda civic looking JDM car with a Sr20det with four throttle bodies and a bigger turbo, bascially its like a Talon awd turbo but the Nissan version that we never got. The guy had a turbo and intercooler upgrade and Im sure a few more things, maybe not. Anyways, light goes, I launch it hard and he launches hard, and He flat out yanked me out of the hole hard, I catch up a little in second, and in third hes just GONE!!! Ouch.
