  1. I would just get a 75-6 gastank and be done with it. Fuel cells are good and the initial buy is cheap enough, but theres a lot of other work involved and in the end a lot of stuff changes, which isnt a bad thing, but to me its one of the reasons I went with a 280. I know some of the 240turbos just used the drain plug as a return, and yes it does work, but they have to watch out in turns anytime the tank is low, how low Im not sure. Another reason I went 280 this time around was teh exhaust/fuel smell, in my 240 I just couldnt get rid of it no matter what I tried, and I had a v8 in the sucker with 10-1cr just pumping the exhaust into my car. There were times I had to stop the car and get out of the thing, my clothes would smell like gas sometimes! My buddy has a 240zturbo with a ton of mods and 3.7 lsd, and the man cant even get a proper doughnut going because about 3/4 through the first come around, his car will want to stall out on him. He also cant 4wheel it around a turn because of this, or really pitch it hard at all just because of the fear of leaning out his very well built setup. It brings tears to my eyes I bought the man a 75 gastank because he's my boy and I couldnt stand all that proper equipment going to waste like that, besides, when that guy gets faster, I get faster....
  2. 33 percent, no way zcars bearly even have a driveshaft!
  3. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! where it at?
  4. I wouldnt do the L28et into a zx because its cheaper and stronger overall package just to pickup a zxt. 300zxtt into one of the earlier bodies takes a lot of mods to fit, I would imagine its extremely wide due to twin cam heads and a turbo off each bank of cylinders. The single turbo SOHC engines fit a litte better, youd only have to make clearance for one turbo and the engines are available for way better prices. RB
  5. Hopefully the finished product is a little nicer. Nutty project there, but hey, its probably going to be very fast. I love those cars, one of those cars with that "good" ugly look to them. My buddy had one in the 80s that was running low 13s, back then that was rare of FWD.
  6. car feels like it runs better with stock ngk set at .035 tried .40 and 12 psi, maybe with msd try it again.
  7. Sounds like the 50 trim is a good match for the L motor. Maybe you could get him to let you borrow it for a few runs, Im also interested in that trim turbo, Id like to see what it runs like on your car since we run the same intercooler setup and yikes----the same bends and diameters, guys car must haul @ss. Ive heard great things about the Fidanza unit. Man those things are expensive. I just need Posi...
  8. do you get the oil stink on a deceleration in gear? I get a whiff of it depending on how high I am.. in the rpm range, higher rpm more stink I get, and man Im runnin on all 6! dry plugs on mines too. I run factory pcv setup from block, from the valve cover just a filter, its been fine for a while, but the time I ran without a pcv my rear main started leaking.
  9. mechanical part of turbo swap is a bolt in, easier than a honda swap. wiring is a different story though...
  10. zcar.com car of the month has a pretty cool interior I thought. Looks a little too resto muscle car hot rodding magazine for me but its nice. Never been too much of an interior man, more of a wheels and power guy. Favorite interior for me has to be a factory silver 240z with the red vinyl interior, ive seen it twice in my life, thats some old school jdm action. main difference is 240 vs. 280 dash and console setup is at the bottom of it, on a 240z the lower part is still part of the dash board, on a 280z the lower part of the dash is actually part of the center console, where the radio is. One thing i was thinking about doing was getting one of those 4 in 1 tach/oil/water/fuel 5" guages from autotechnic or somebody like that, run the boost guage on top of the steering column, then use the 3 pods left for egt, boost and a/f just a thought. Tomohawk, im interested in seeing photos of how you hinged the back of your z, kinda like a crx i can imagine? I like that, everything not being in plain sight and all that.
  11. think 260/280z rear panel please.
  12. you gotta work those things into place, they dont just slap on. my buddy used double stick tape to attach his, and its been fine.
  13. 10k rebello dandos will do it.
  14. I just bolted up the zx mc and let er rip, everything was good. this was on my old 72. this was with the solid 4piston brakes though, I dont know if the vented ones need more adjustment though.
  15. they just dont look as good without the dish to me...
  16. Oh boy! just wrote all of them. Hope they actually still use the same email addys.
  17. Hoovers car has a billet bottom end and 8.5-1 or so cr, motec, custom everything, and the almightly garret gt2530 or maybe even bigger by now. 414@14psi pump gas is phenomenal to say the least. try 3" aluminum ic piping to a huge spearco, with all the pipes freakin cfm tested and flowed, math everywhere, and a 4 inch alum intake pipe connected to a Icice9 special air filter! Car is nuts, and at idle, is quieter than mien
  18. I made a lifelong friend this semester from Oahu, a brother you could say. Anyways Im going to be staying with him for the summer and already contacted my aunt and uncle who stay near his family and basically I will be surfing between the two places. If this summer goes well I may spend my summers there for the rest of my life. free rent. I already have a pretty cool job waiting for me when I get there, and my thesis is related directly to Hawaiian history, so it will be a big boost to the validity of my thesis. My big question is, are there any Z people out there, I remember there being one z guy on this board from Hawaii. Part of the time out there I will be looking into the car scene and what not, and will also down to check just about anything else. Aloha.
  19. hei should fit with msa, a nice coil and some work with the advance springs and adjustable vacum advance can really work wonders. you could always run a pertronix electronic ign conversion kit for the stock small cap distributor, but me being me I would rather go with a factory electronic ign.
  20. p90a setup is also 24btdc vs. 20btdc of 81-82zxt
  21. turbohoses.com, look into the photos section thats 414hp@14psi pump gas, completely built engine though.
  22. Im at 12psi and holding it there. I said it to myself too many times that Im not turning up the boost, I know I am
  23. I think the guys swap looks awesome, especially for 600hp. Ah the look of factory. Hey stony, is it 500hp on stock twins with metal exhaust blades or 500 with those ceramic ones in them? Heard they like to break up at just over 1bar.
