Way back when my buddy wanted to make a full drag CRX, paint it orange with the japanese flag on the roof and call it the General Ree

That rev limiter is quite violent isnt it?

I have yet to see a fwd driver be able to drive their car right, drag racing I mean. I dont care if they make a ton of hp, the laws of physics give me a great handicap!

HELLLLLLLLL MUTHAAAAAA FUNNNNKKKKIN YEEEEEEEEEE- AAAAAAAAA_ EEEEEEEEEE- HHHHHHHHHH No more of the funny smogs for me!

Arizona Zcar has a set of 1mm over flattop pistons for 289.00, I was thinking about using them in an engine buildup.

Swap is easy enough mechanically since it drops right in. Best move in my opinion is to find a running zxt with body damage, salvage title whatever, just has to be a cheap one, since you are going to gut it anyway. I wonder zt swappers, how many 2+2s have you killed? My count last year was 4

I would still use the p90a vs. the p79. Always thought it was round port? guess not, oh well. I dont see anything wrong with a p90a for mild applications, its not like you couldnt do the p90 later. I prefer p90 for sure though, something about hot oil valve adjustments make you feel like a man

I wanted to one a while back but my friend intervened, saying that miatas are (*********) and I said, "yeah, wouldnt want to look like that".

He has internal wg. I think its hard to diagnose noises like that without beign there, my car sounds like that between shifts, and I LOOOOOOOOOOVE it!

L28et swap is pretty cheap, and its quick. I love mine, thats for sure. I did the swap initiall for under 1000, but I easily have that much in bolt ons. Once IM satistified my rear suspension and brakes can utilize 400hp, Im going RB25det with the t04e that would be coming off my L28, I would go 26 but I want everything in one shot. if it was a choice between rb20det and sr20det I would go with the SR, its a newer engine, the rb20det that comes here has been in a junkyard for 10years or so in japan, maybe not, but thats a chance you take. Sure, it costs a little to run a jspec motor, but it costs to be the boss. I get clips pretty dang cheap, but shipping is going to kill, but the engines are tested and pretty much turnkey if the harness is all there.

Im not doing any kind of mods like that, just thought it was cool. I like the zg's though, but I like the challenge of working with the stock fender more, but if i do go flares, zg for me me!

isnt the p79 a round port head? if so P90a P90a may have the HLAs, but it still has the preferred swirl combustion chamber. A p90a head in good shape is worth running worth the turbo ap, even if you run one in the meanwhile before you find a solid p90.

For the longest time I couldnt get my MBC to go past 10psi, its about a month old. Its from mm-racing, simple grainger looking valve. I remember driving around, stopping, and cranking down on the adjustment but it would not go past 10psi No matter how hard I tried Finally the other day, Im under the hood and I unhook the MBC, take a look at it, and put it back in tee with wga, take it for a spin, and KABOOM, its hitting 14psi and its going into boost FAST, like I dont have to "try" if that makes any sense, its like the car just walks itself into boost now. I know what the problem was, I made the line as short as possible to keep spikes down a bit, and there was a small pinch in the line from WGA to the MBC, all I did was turn the MBC a different angle and the pinch went away and we're off! Ok I know what the cause was, but this is what I dont know: 1. Wouldnt a pinched line make more boost, slowing down the signal to WGA? 2. If the line was pinched, wouldnt boost come on faster than if it was not? Car feels great right now, boost is very linear almost like an NA engine, just winds out, no abrupt boost hit or flat spots, its smooth.... Anyone??? MBC is from mm-racing.com, I could probably make one like this myself, but for 25.00, hey

Nothing like any other import car event that I have ever went to. No high registration fees, the only fee was to pay for parking (it was held on the bottom floor of a parking complex). 99.9% import cars were there, and I was just about the only S30 there, the other guy had a bone stock 76. Originally it was setup for 50 cars, but 400 showed up!!!! It was a scene out of some movie or something, I drove through the crowd to the Oldschool section through a sea of hondas, mk everything supra, s13/14, z32, ae86, a few skylines, fc, fd, you name it, it was there. Everyone was gawking hard at the intercooler, everyones eyes were peeping the grill, as I drove through with the H4s on high beam creeping like a big black panther. I was overhearing people say things like "oh crap, thats a 1st gen Z" "those things are quick" "OH damn!" " its boostin!" and one guy even screamed out "Wangan midnite!" I got to the old school section and was greeted by the 510s and old school Corolla and Celica crowd, it was incredibly fun, everyone was so pumped it was like we already knew each other. The 510 guys were drinking Hennesey and playing cards on their hood, we found out we go to the same school, so I put them down with NISMOBB instantly! People that were interested in, and owned older z cars were going crazy when they saw my setup (which isnt anything special, but its not a common sight I guess) and I made a lot of contacts for future sidejob work and tuning, my phone is down for a week so I had to give them my buddies number at least 20 times! A few s30 owners that didnt bring their cars were relating how they came just to see what z cars would come out, and I was pleased that they liked my car, and was amazed at how much interest and fear there is of doing the zxt swap into the older body! Its pretty commonplace and I regard it as being simple, but being able to see an outsiders view of the conversion was refreshing. I gave out my buddies number to three people who want to throw me an offer for my car! Everythings for sale I was amazed at the level of positive energy that existed at this show, everyone was exchanging information and setting up future events, sharing resources and giving each other high fives for just being there. I almost lost my voice screaming since it was hard to talk over the whoosh whoosh and the dj's, but hey it was worth it entirely. It was a sea of positive import car enthusiasts, no dvd players, strobe lights, or gaudy body kits. It was more like Intercoolers, wheels I would kill for, the 400 variations of the silvia, and my favorite car of the day, a US spec S14 with a RB25det with greddy everything on it. I was sad that I didnt see any local guys with their zcars to come check this show out with me, it was an awesome event and it was a turbo lovers dream come true! Photos of the event should be up soon at Jdmtheory.com The best part about me talking with all the different people that were checking out my car that didnt own z's was I found this to be a common theme: The sight of an S30 makes them all ponder whats makes it tick, it scares them since they do know about what we do to these things!!! A couple years ago when I had a v8z a lot of kids didnt even know what a S30 was, now they are coming up to me and asking what engine is in my S30-its bad ass they refer to these cars as an S30!!!!

DavyZ and I threw this around a little bit today and thought it was amusing. People run 9.5 in wide wheels with a zg, imagine a subtle z fender and quarter conversion with zg flares grafted to them, the mental picture of one seems pretty mean to me. You could get away with some outrageously wide tires, yet appear to only have bolt on small flares, since the zg would in part conceal the subtle z mild flare, You could run tires as wide as some of the guys with the IMSA flares but look almost stock bodied! Just a thought.

Just trying to help, remind me not to do that anymore.

What Do You Think Of Supra & The Owner-CONTENT WARNING

They look real! -
good idea, I would love to see a 280zxturbo hood vent in cf, you could make both with option to buy one or two, I only want one, those would be very nice. Im in for the rear panel and hood vent if you make the vent.

smog schmog, I say rip it all off if you feel you need to. Z car will function right without, but I would keep pcv system intact, but thats about it. NO smog equipment on the turboz, and it starts up on a cold morning with .5 seconds of key time, after I pressurize the fuel system that is. I would start with one system at a time, pulling each vac line off and blocking it off and seeing what happens. Got to be more careful on the cars with a lot of options, you dont want to lose cruise control or the heater just to get two vac lines out of the way.

IF its a drop in and turn key setup I think its fair. I love th350s almost as much as I love the M21-2 and t10 trannies. TH350s do go cheap though. The place I used to go to get them rebuilt was 200, plus 50 to have a shift kit installed. for 500 I could get one rebuilt that would scratch with a off idle vaccum! Strong and cheap, thats one thing it has going for it. Buddy has an el camino with a 1mm over 454 with flattops and a .540 lift cam, forged bottom end and what not, and beats the living crap out of a th350 on a regular basis. Its his fun car so everytime it comes out, it gets the ride of its life. (I still pulled a door a him on until the 1/8 mile though ) 1:1 is kinda bad since gear ratio in a z is so limited, 3500rpm will get you hanging with traffic, just about anything else lower and a dodge caravan full of kids will sail right past you while youre in the middle of the powerband trying to stay afloat. It is still a pretty good combo to get the car on the road, I would save up and get a nice th700 or 2004r down the road though, people these days in their new cars around my neighbor hood do an avg of 80-5 mph and thats at least where Im at. Good thing about a z with v8 is that with the lightweight a weaker trans will take a bit more rwhp. I like the older trannies, they feel race ready from the get go.

240sx all the way, most fathers dont realize what potential it has, and they are fun cars stock.

Do you an early or late 260? I have some worn out stock shocks coming out of my car soon. Ill send em out for shipping cost if you want em. My car is a late 74 280z (11/74)

Is almost the exact length, same thread, and bolts up to the z slave cylinder! I had a bunch of these calipers and what nots laying around and tested it out, YES! I had a few pairs with goodridge teflon lines on them, and used one of them to repair a leaky swollen rubber clutch hose, and it worked GRRReat. The bolt head of the banjo bolt is 8mm vs. the 12-13mm head of the stocker, which makes it easier for me to take on and off as needed as well!!!! A copper washer and a wrench and the deal was done, and im overjoyed. I know, random fact, but hey, it works. Im going to some more ss line and old hardlines to route my line lock next
