  2. Simon, i was wondering if you had some photos of engine fitment, there are a couple front clips here at the shop that are screaming swap over here, not any time soon, but hey i can start the contemplating now cant i?
  3. responded to an ad to a 77 part out, and was in for a suprise, i made them a deal to dispose of the chopped up body for a good price on the parts, i ended up getting all four corners of the suspension, the locks, the ignition switch, relays everything. i hauled off at least 800lbs of z and came back yesterday to make a second trip, and who comes by but the ex owner of the car, and i started asking him about the suspension. turns out he had the calipers replaced with real nissan units stuffed with porterfields, has the dot approved stainless steel lines on all four corners and the clutch too, drilled rotors, brand new aluminum drums, wheel bearings, everything brake wise and suspension on the car had 10k and sixmonths of driving on them!!!!! he had brand new lock cylinders, ignition switch, and hatch locks, i already swapped them all out and love it! i feel safe at long last. im waiting on a shipment of parts related to brakes from rockauto-then im throwing the swiss cheese rotors with the new calipers, im pumped, im waiting on sway bar links and a couple other parts before i stuff the rest of the parts, which will finish this stage of brakes and suspension, next mods, AIR and SPARK specifically, intercooling..................woooooooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooo...
  4. wondering if there was a formula for calculating how much clutch you need? just weighed my car it came out to 2726 with me in the car and a full tank of gas and lots of tools and spare parts. looking at an act clutch or having one made up for me to my specs, would rather have one made up, i have a good builder thats cheap downtown. thanx.

  7. fusible link should be part of efi harness, the green relay and the brown one would be good to get as well. the main efi pigtail is the one to worry about the most, make sure you dont cut that one at any point and should be ok.
  8. my honda tuner buddies love workign on those little crap boxes, because they always come back!! number four always gets messed up is what im hearing from them, and my boys are making bank off them honda guys, that must be why they drive chevelles

  10. im running a mildly built motor with a couple nice bolt ons, going to intercool and do everything really legit before i start going for my small goal of 280rwhp from the stock efi setup, with a fuel enrichment device of some kind (im not there yet, so im not stressing over it) right now im adressing spark and air, and getting the system run perfectly and drive how i like it to. I have a spare motor with everything on it, and right now im porting the living crap out of the head and intake, 1mm steel headgasket(i love them) i plan to b an b the bottom end and lighten up the rotating assembly, and use arp bolts, good rings on a stock bore, a hogged out p90, hogged out intake and exhaust manifold, and ill probably get up on the cam just a little, nothing crazy,and have the exhaust manifold extrude honed since its cast and the manifold is alum-way easier to hog out.) future plans, go up on the compressor side with 300zxt water cooled center, use a dual stage gnx boost solenoid so that i can launch at 5psi and ramp it up after i get hook on the 1-2 shift, run the npr with the fattest pipe i can to the tb (2.5), and a slightly bigger pipe than the feeder side of the compressor, probably 2.25. nothing major, btw------- BRUCE LEE RULES! ive always been a big fan of your yellow car, are you still working with that one, do your thing brother man, do your thing. gong shi fat tsai hong bao na loy...

  12. i found my tires in the front of firestone, brand new Big O's with a nail in one, 195-65-15 with the fuzzies still intact, racked em myself with at my buddies shop for a happy meal........YEAH BOY.

  14. im gonna weld a bead around the end of each pipe to make sure they dont slip, and use good clamps, man im only doing this here ONCE.
  15. a properly setup stock L28et turbo system moves just like a stock NA l28, no jolt in the butt when the turbo kicks on, thats a sign you have too many restrictions in your intake or the turbo is way too big, it just starts picking up early and has this eerie flat torque curve all the way (for me) 6200, where i usually shift, cause i dont see the need to rev any higher.

  17. yeah that Fairlady guy-what a pimp the muncie four speed is basically bulletproof in a z and cost way less than a five speed. i still have a spare t10 for memories sake. overdrive is a nice thing, but man i love the american four speeds very much. strong as hell, mine came out of a chevelle with a 454 that had 450lbs, that thing had to go auto it was killing 10 bolts and on its way to hurting a 12bolt. usually work better in a scarab because of the external linkage. i beat the crap out of my scarab everyday for three years, and got 15 or so runs at the strip, five with drag radials. car ran thirteens with a overjetted carb, no vacum advance, and a very tired 327. i can see it being done in jtr with some mods to the shift rods, but i think you guys are too sissy to run with the four speed, its a notchy box that sounds like a supercharger when youre driving, and its weaks points were me powershifting it everyday and streetracing it over a hundred times, i would snap steel shifter bushings and lock the rods up every other week, but thats why im the KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if i wanted comfort i wouldnt have run the four puck! i didnt want to commute this car, i came to kick @ss in that car and thats what i did. i twisted that car into a pretzel, straightend and welded it, and twisted it again, now ive got a different purpose statement in my new Z project, but if i ever did a stick shift v8z again, the only five speed youre gonna see me with is a doug nash 4+1 or a JERICO. i did have to rebend the rods, and eventually i went to a true heim joint linkage from the newer richmond trans, and kicked some more import and domestic tail, ive lost to ten or twelve cars hotter than my old v8 car, and thats not bad 88-12, with most of them being a one shift KO, knocking down every new and old car you can name, ive stomped hemis,BBCchevelles, old and new camaros with LT/LS1, mustang 5.0s by the boatload, every model honda known, eclipses, rx7's, ive outhandled 300zxtts in a drag race that turned into a drift battle when the 300 wouldnt back off, stingray vettes, new vettes, most vettes, once broke a monster miata off something proper! that car wasnt about having it all, it was about taking it all!!!! who knows about this one
  18. isnt it funny how little you need you to hook up to get the car to start? i find it hilarious that its like four wires besides the ecu and boom, car fires right up!!!
  19. i got a better one it involves registering your car at the dmv, but you........................and then.........then you get stickers, and half the time they dont ask for insurance.

  21. nah, not for me, once i get fuel enrichment i would to run a small shot to get the party started and cool intake temps a little bit, i really like that nx ntercooler, and would love to have that spray rail bangin in the front of my car!
