  1. Yes, it's absurd and will only work well, when the suspension is loaded to, exactly the correct point, that will make the "cambered contact patch", flat. The odds of having the tires fall into their "sweet spot" at the right place and right time are slim to none.
  2. Read the last line of my post in 2006. http://forums.hybridz.org/showpost.php?p=653740&postcount=43
  3. First hit on google. Better luck next time. "capacity of a stock 1972 240z tank" http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/other/1146800501/1146800501ss.htm
  4. If you leave your fridge open, will the room cool or heat?
  5. The sky is blue because that wavelength of color bends 90 degrees (scatters in all directions actually) and comes towards us, when it hits our dusty atmosphere. Red passes straight through without bending which is why you see it at sunset and sunrise. In short. Dusty skies make the best sunsets.
  6. Teflon was an accident and it is one of the largest known molecules. Lignum Vitae is one of the toughest woods. Freeze Plugs are a myth. No material on earth is stronger than the bond between a spindle pin and an S30 rear strut housing.
  7. The above photos show an MSA S30 shifter kit: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PRC02A Being fitted to a 280ZX 5-speed.
  8. I can't wait to see Jason's dash in the car. Flocking, finally! http://nyzcc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=433&start=40
  9. I don't have a pipe wrench that large im my tool crib, but I have a cable and a tree stump. I'll see how well the dealer installed it. Thanks for the tip. 666 on the trip. As soon as I stepped into the car that number was staring at me.
  10. Kid's college fund if I gave the govvy too much this year. Who am I kidding...I always give them too much. It just their opinion that it's not enough.
  11. Has anyone seen my GoPro around? J/K..nice mounts
  12. Go get the K-Lite codec pack if you intend to play around with media. Also use the Media Player Classic that comes in the codec pack. http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm I usually just get the FULL version. The radio controlled airplane guys have a ton of experience with the GoPro cams. You might find tidbits here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1140341
  13. I think I'll go mix a drink and throw some logs on the fire now...
  14. OK got it. RIPE is the company that RIR's (regional internet registry) the IP. But the actual IP belongs to Verizon in NYC. OK weird stuff. Thanks for listening!
  15. UPDATE. I logged into RandomSSID and checked the old 192.168.0.1 and got into the router. It's not Neighbor2 it's Neighbor3. It's a Verizon router. But why does it IP back to the Netherlands on WHOIS?
  16. I have a small network of 3 PC's in my home. One of them is a wireless laptop, so I keep a wireless router in the network with WPA-PSK security on it. For the past couple of weeks my cable internet, coming in on a non-wireless router was flaky. Tonight, for some reason my phone, and laptop would not connect to my wireless router. "Wrong shared key". So I reset the wirelss router and redid my keys. Problem solved. Here is the good part. As I go to connect to a wireless network, I see my choices. Mine (secure), Neighbor1 (secure), Neighbor2(open), RandomSSID (open). I can now connect to Mine and RandomSSID. Neighbor2 and RandomSSID are both throwing 2 signal bars and dissapear and come back together. I am guessing they are one in the same physical routers. OK so I connect to RandomSSID and surf to MyIP and then run a WhoIs on it. It's a Netherlands IP called CREW-RIPE. Why is a router in the Netherlands, two signal bars away from my house? And why can I not connect to Neighbor2 but I can connect to RandomSSID which is probably the same router? Has my Neighbor2's router been hacked? He is fairly famous, and is never home or I would approach him about it, he is not a techy guy so I doubt he has any knowledge of this.
  17. Here is a trip to the grocery store. Listening to the new TurboXS 4" to 3" downpipe, and 3" exhaust. Makes nice power and torque. Listen to the right front wheel break loose at the top of the crest in third gear.
  18. unplug the hard drive and see if the PC boots from the XP disc. Are you positive you set the the boot order so that the optical drive is first?
  19. I'll have to see if I can sneak the camera under the WRX and snap a few. The downpipe is visible from the hood though...I'll see what I can do. Maybe a little video of the sound is in order. blub, blub, blub, blub the burble of the boxer. Cars in the Northeast rust:
  20. Yeah got it back today. Finally. They did a nice job after all except that the exhaust was resting on the trans crossmember causing a nasty rattle under the car, and they busted off my hood prop rod. I took care of the rattle because they blamed it on the aftermarket exhaust...I'll buy that. The prop rod was just flailing around the engine bay. I guess they missed that one. No biggie. They are going to get me a new part. All in all a partial exhaust system cost me $1200 installed, two weeks of down time, and a wrecked parents car that I had borrowed....that's another story that could explain my rotten mood lately. The tech was a very cool guy. I wish they'd give customers the option of dealing with the techs instead of the service advisors. Performancewise I don't feel that much in the seat. The boost gauge builds MUCH faster though. Also my peak boost jumped way up. I will need to back off on the "leak-type" manual boost controller. The sound is great. The pipe is polished stainless. It almost looks food grade. Stark contrast to all the salt and rust under the car.
