  1. 20.9 AFR is the standard for the FREE AIR calibration.. the error 8 or error 9 codes are standard when the standalone guage is NOT hooked up to the LM-1 Try re-calibrating to free air and try again.. during heavy load.. and runnign lean.. ive had weird spikes of 60AFR its just the sensor freaking out
  2. evildky .. your 100% correct.. I generally "think" of a velocity stack as a venturi.. literally the same effect.. increase velocity .. decrease pressure in the narrower part of the piping.. the velocity stacks simply cut that "venturi" in half.. so now you have this increase in velocity so it can be thrown into the combustion chamber.. but .. a Venturi tube CAN use a bell opening .. or rolled edges or a air horn (diff terms) .. that just gathers more air
  3. damn.. has it been that long since i've talked to you? Ha.. awsome work my man.. why the folds and rivits aroudn the edges?
  4. yeh i've run a n/a setup for a while.. i unfortunatly didnt have as much luck as everyone else.. the N/A ECU was crap.. one problem I should of adressed was a Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator.. or an adjustable fuel pressure reg.. that was my big problem.. another problem was the timing.. the mechanical dizzy wants to advance.. and I should have sealed up the advance slots so it DIDNT move... advancing timing under boost mean KABOOM! So I ran Megasquirt and my n47/n42 combo with a turbo and it was superb!
  5. Velocity stacks = AKA = Venturi tubes.. Aviation shops sell plenty of em... but check out Burns SS .. they have a wide selection of them
  6. and I thought the CCR was insane! now a CCX??? ohhh boy
  7. only 300hp from a TT BMW setup?? hmm.. even a 4 cylinder Mitusubitchy motor with a single small turbo will hit 300hp... but a 6 cyln. with today's technology in a BMW and a twin turbo?? i would expect more.. unless im just crazy
  8. i never get sick of that video .. ever
  9. um.. who cares about the bypass valve .. ughm (i mean sick blow off valve hell yeh!! pssh) anyway.. the Bosch units are superb.. and on a Ferrari engine.. the sound of the exhuast alone is amazing.. why would you ever want to have a loud annoying blow off valve?
  10. awsome! post pics of it!! if you need any help setting it up.. let me know.. ive dealt with it all with the PalmTune and PalmLog
  11. hows the PCV setup?? too high of crankcase pressure results in the oil being unable to drain out of the turbo.. this oil backs up.. out of the oil seal and burns in the exhuast... the warmer the exhuast gets, the more smoke... because of the oil burning downshifting and decelrating will smoke as well...
  12. how about a signle turbo bolted onto the stock manifold.. and another turbo midway downstream.. maybe in the tranny tunnel =) twin turbo.. just one at the manifold and one in the rear
  13. Ok.. I noticed oil dripping only when running from my engine.. I looked and saw oil dripping from the oil pump... simple.. change the gasket.. well I did that.. it's still leaking.. but from where?? ahhh the front crank pulley seal.. well.. I checked it and it's fine.. no cracks or anything.. and on top of that the new one I was going to install was the WRONG seal.. now the oil pan gasket is fine.. but I am very confused.. it's very difficult to tell where the leak is, because the oil is dripping onto the pulley.. which is being slung by centrifugal force all over the timing cover.. any ideas?
  14. hmm cuz I am using a Holset HY35W and boost hits at 3,600-3,900 RPM.. soo .. im debating n/a or my stage I cam ive never installed
  15. well the actuator is mounted so the w/g puck is slammed shut.. and is very taught.. i do need to work on tuning.. but ehh.. spools way too slowly for me
  16. well performance is definatly different.. I was used to a small T3 and a 8.3:1 compression ratio.. full boost at like 2,200 RPM in 5th gear.. now I have a turbo which in my opinion is too big.. and 7.3:1 CR... full boost at like 3,500 RPM in 4th gear I do miss my old motor.. it was peppy and snappy.. but this new one.. when the boost hits.. it effn hits! Overall I am happy... still have ALOT of work to do.. but hell.. it's a daily driven, air conditioned road car.. what more can I ask for?
  17. hmm I have a turbo cam, n/a N42 cam.. and a Stage I MSA cam.. which should I use on my turbo motor.. arrrggg i dont know!
  18. the HX turbo has a different a/r and spools much slower... with my HY35W the way my tuning is right now, I get boost at about 3,400 RPM in 4th gear.. and boost by 3,800 in 2nd gear.. soo it's already a laggy turbo.. and the HX would be even worse spend the time to find a HY turbo
  19. yeh pushing the cherry picker up the driveway was hell.. wouldnt even go up the curb.. so i pushed it up the street and on the handicap sidewalk ramp.. and stuff.. what sucks is I did EVERYTHING myself.. no help from anyone.. good ol 135 pound 19 yr old .. hahaha how sad
  20. Welp.. the N47/N42 combo powered by megasquirt and a watercooled T3 pooped out on me.. bad valve seals.. soo rather than changing the seals.. I went ahead and got a deal on a F54/P90a combo and swapped her in the car.. while it was out.. I decided.. ehh why not go Holset HY35W ... soo here's some pics of the fun and a video at the end !! Old Motor ready to be pulled Pulling the old motor out I look like a damn hippie Bye bye old motor Eck what a mess, I ended up pullin the tranny anyways Hahah cool NEW engine and tranny ready for drop in HOLY hell thats a big turbo the exhuast I welded up myself! FLUX baby .. haha I need gas ALL done ANNDD ofcourse .. the VIDEO! 280Zt Holset video Thanks for lookn !!
  21. seen it about 4 times.. girls love watchn it... i just sit there
  22. man I love it.. especially the new 2006 wheels hmm.. and i HAVE to use coil overs?? sigh .. naturally i buy a welder AFTER i buy springs
