Well this worked out better than I could have hoped, and quickly too! David, expect a PM... Steve, is your email the right one for PayPal? I'm ready to pull the trigger as soon as I have some pictures.

Sounds good, just waiting on a response from the owner of the left side bucket. If he still has his for sale I'm betting this will be the best way to go.
-
Ben, What are you looking to get for yours on top of the trade for mine? There is a drivers side bucket for $25 on ZCar right now that I might have to jump on if David's is priced right. I hate paying double shipping and working with two separate parties, but if the total cost is better and I still have my old buckets in the end I may just have to go that route. David, What were you looking to get for yours? Right side (meaning passenger side here in the USA) from the drivers perspective correct?

I'll try and pull them off the car sometime this week, you'll get pictures as soon as I do!

Those look like standard halogen conversion housings, not projectors (DDM only lists halogen housings on their conversion page). If he is running HIDs then there wouldn't be any real 'cutoff' to speak of, just a whole lot of glare.

30-1 tooth wheel with cherry hall effect sensor
LanceVance replied to randy 77zt's topic in MegaSquirt
Glad to hear you've got it running! Sometimes all it takes is a fresh set of eyes looking over the basics; work on anything too long and you develop tunnel vision! -
I've considered it actually, but the shape I'm looking for is slightly more complex than just a straight ring... That and I don't have a router!

Need opinions on original crack free dash car
LanceVance replied to datjunky's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
I've been using Eastwood Vinyl and Rubber Restore on a few small bits and pieces. Seems to work pretty well, returning some of the original elasticity. That said, I haven't tried anything near the size of dashboard... Edit: There are clear UV blocking tints (bit of a misnomer there, perhaps films is a better word?) available from 3M that would work perfectly for this. It's my plan for the windshield as well. -
I'm working on a fiberglass taillight panel similar to the Zforce Productions Corvette style panel (see below), only with staggered size lights (á la Nissan Skyline). I can make a nice smooth panel, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to produce consistent perfectly round rings to go around the lenses. Think you would be able to print out some rings if I gave you the measurements? It would be so much simpler to just inset the rings into the foam body, and wrap the whole thing with FG. I'm planning a fusion of these two styles: Edit: I've got a center console in my garage, I'll check to see if the ashtray cover is there, and I'll send it to you if you like. I won't be needing it.

Sort of. I've bought a brand new OEM pair from eBay. I don't remember the exact price, but they were close to the Amazon price. Unfortunately, I still haven't had a chance to get ahold of any Z lenses to compare to, and everything I do have (Airdam, stock valence, etc) is 280 stock so they aren't exactly helpful when wanting to just lay them in to see how they fit. I'm on the lookout for a Kaminari airdam, which seems to lend itself rather well to this kind of thing. Even if the proportions are well off, I should be able to make them work just fine with a little cutting and grinding. Now I just need to find myself an airdam!

If you look through my threads you'll find how I cleaned up my exhaust manifold using electrolysis. Might be worth trying if you plan on keeping the stock mani, would definitely help clean things up a bit. Eager to see more progress, car is looking good so far. -
Google search (i.e. keyword site:HybridZ.off) is vastly superior to the forum search bots, and can search as few letters as you like. Decreasing the limit would be nice though...

Tired of crumbly rear view mirror? Not superstitious? Mirror swap concept.
LanceVance replied to socorob's topic in Interior
Very nice! How about I send you my pivot ball and you send it back with a mirror attached for $20? That's doubling your money and you can go buy 8 more mirrors for extras -
24 hours of Lemons suspension help
LanceVance replied to Oaklandjester's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Instead of reusing the old rubber from the hats you could place your modified bits in a Delrin approximation of the original rubber? A mold would be simple enough to make for something like that. Sorry I can't suggest more, though I'm sure someone else will chime in with some vintage racing voodoo!
