  1. Tough call. If you are serious about paint etc.. your gonna put much more then 2k in it though. How much would the z fetch? IMO the 240sx is a superior daily driver for most people. Myself included.
  2. I totally agree. I have a set of small ones (not the crappy aluminum ones from menards) from carquest that I use to mount things. It works VERY well. Evan
  3. Your making me nervous... hmm rod bolts... Sorry to hear you had trouble! Evan
  4. He already replaced all the coils. Does not matter if your injectors are stock, one could be partially plugged or going bad. Thats about all I got, from first hand experience anyway! Evan
  5. Could be an injector problem. What injectors are you using? I have a crappy set of Venom injectors in my car, and I had a somewhat consistent hiccup. I traded them in for a new set under warranty and it went away totally. This was generally after the motor warmed up. Evan
  6. I agree 100%, but I will also bet it takes much longer for my 240sx to look like a z rust wise then an old school z! I see your in wausau! I drive past there a few times a summer! Evan
  7. Dude, your 27. The older I get the better life gets (at this point). Enjoy it! My 95' 240sx has been driven year round since day 1 as far as I know. Its not rusty. I am pretty sure its newer paint and metal technology that is prolonging life. Evan
  8. You need to replace your fenders. Taking them back apart will NOT be a fun or cheap experience. Besides, I am SURE someone would like to have yours! Evan
  9. Your welcome. Look at the one on ebay that trumped posted above you. Thats the same one I have. Evan
  10. I spoke to a guy with a supercharged focus at one point. He was always having problems with the car and was going to sell it. Said if he wanted power again he will buy a powerful car upfront. Evan
  11. The AZC one is a ripoff. I am sure it is the same core you can buy on ebay for 150 or so shipped. I have one. Its not a bad I/C but the AZC price is high.
  12. Dude, they are 50 bucks! They don't look too bad on a z imo! Evan
  13. Yeah, it says 1k for the pair. Still not TOO bad of a deal. Being a safety item, Ill pay the difference for recaros or something like that. They are working on getting certified, seems that anything that is approved is going to cost 500/seat. I imagine the price of certification can't be too cheap. Evan
  14. I had a knob come off too, it was the setscrew type. I marked the shift lever and drilled dimples into the shifter. Drop of blue loctite on each screw and it did not come loose again. If the knob was not a gift I would not have gone through the effort. Evan
  15. How bout' posting up some photos here so we can critique your work? There are alot of folks who know this stuff very well here on the forums. Evan
  16. You will note that James NEVER chimed into this conversation. That was my point. Evan
  17. Pulling the trans while your doing the bushings, makes sense LOL. Good luck bud. Evan
  18. You have to be kidding me. I am kinda surprised James has not chimed in. He must not really be on the site anymore.
  19. Dude, it sounds like zx trans time! If you can get a known good working trans you willl be in better shape IMO. Evan
  20. That is a perfect example of why tuning seat of the pants is not the way to go. Nice numbers, that is great you were able to pick up some ponies. I would not own any sort of performance car without a wideband after owning one. Evan
  21. Thats cool, sometimes it helps to have someone else point out the obvious! Good luck man! Evan
  22. Mine is definitely bearings, but not the input bearing. Its not that big of a deal to have a trans guy swap the input shaft bearing for you. Last time I had it done was for $20 cash. Evan If its still making noise when you have the clutch disengaged maybe its something else (not the trans?) making the racket?
  23. Funny you mention that, my trans does the exact same thing. It got VERY bad after getting home from last SEZ. I have another trans waiting to go in. In my situation, replacing the input bearing did NOT fix the problem. It requires a special puller to get it off. I have a z31t trans btw. It reminded me of my z 5 speed though. Evan
  24. Wheeler, I sent you a PM. At the least I would love to see your car some time! I do need a seat that lays back. The momo pictured above is sweet, but I cannot imagine a 14+ hour drive to DNI in that badboy. Evan
