  1. Someone check the link for me. I get "invalid thread"...
  2. LMAO!!! Those are the exat wheels I am planning on getting. I was quoted 2' date='200 for the set. What finish did you get on yours? And to be clear I want a [b']very [/b]cheap set (not $500) for jsut shop use. So I can get the car on the ground.
  3. Thats the way to do it!! Black wheels are where its at!! Very Nice!! Rufus
  4. I'm not worried about looks at all. In fact I don't even care if they match, they will only be used in the shop. I have made some dimension-ally exact templates of the size wheel / tire combo I will be using. I will use those to set the actual ride height so I can finish the fender lips.
  5. OK I finally have it figured out....I'm a moron..... 300zx 5 x 4.5 and my re-drilled stubs are the same. Fits Nissan, Toyota, Mustang... What eles? peej, I am looking to get some very cheap cheaper than the shipping for yours. It is appreciated though. I may have something in my mini JY behind my shop!!!
  6. I am about to put my suspension together and I need to buy some cheap wheels / tires until I can afford the ones I want. Just so I can get the car off the rott and on the ground. Question; since 300zx front hubs are 5 x 4.5 what JY vehicles would I be able to scavange wheels from? Any chevy? For some reason this issue confuses me. chevy vs. ford bolt pattern? ford is 5 x 4.5 as well correct? So what is the difference? If this has been gone over a zillion times (as I am sure it has) a link to a thread would be appreciated. The searching I have done thus far does not help me understand the difference. Thanks! Rufus
  7. Awesome!! That looks so familiar, even the same old color. I stripped mine by hand, sure wish I had media blasted instead. Keep us posted!! Rufus

  12. I think this may get some use!!!
  13. I didn't know there was such a thing as a 300ZX 2+2 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6398&item=4549967313&rd=1
  14. Beautiful man!!! Love the color!! :burnout: :burnout:
  15. if the pistons move freely and they don't leak, a rebuild is not rquired. If you get them from a JY and they have been sitting you will most likely need to rebuild. I need som 240 sx rears as well and will probably just buy the rebuilts then bring back some other calipers i have laying around for my core charge. They never look...
  16. oops... yea they ARE there!! Yes the part name you put down is it. As long as the pads move easily across ther pin a distance equal to what you would see with normal wear you should be OK.
  17. Those are slider pins. They can be purchased at the local parts store. You ned two sets. If yours are straight just take a wire wheel to them. That is if the little holes are still clear. The picture is missing the springs that go into the pins. These springs may be the anti-rattle clips you are talking about. There is a tiny hole at the end of each pin that the springs go into. The springs look like a wire capital W. Good Luck!! Rufus
  18. Question guys, I am looking for a project that I can make some dough on. I am building the Z but that will be drivable within the next 6 mos. or so and I want to start looking for the next project. Although I love all kinds of cars I am specifically looking for something that would be an easy sell. I have been searching google etc... and what I have learned so far is what I already knew. "It is worth what someone is willing top pay for it." That said I figure there have to be some trends that the people with money are willing to follow, i.e. custom choppers and the like. I however want to do a resto / modification similar to the Z but perhaps sellable to a wider audience. So, old vettes/ mustangs/ etc.. are plentiful, parts are relatively cheap, and widley sought after. However, as I go through the classifieds, and JY's I want to keep my eye out for something special. Any thoughts? I know there is this big thing the kids call "drifting" or something like that. How about cars that the kids of people with money are looking for? Those of you that are not kids but are into drifting no offense meant, just having some fun! Waddaya think? Rufus
  19. very cool. It is a small web/world, you just may find out. Good luck! The suspension is so low that it has to have pretty stiff springs to keep from bottoming out. Unless it is lowered like that for towing / showing. Rufus
  20. What is it about it that you like? Basically stock....bodywise anyway.... except it has been slammed.
  21. So...since I hate it sooo much when some numbnuggets says "look on the brite side..." Hey Mike look at the brite side!!! It will feel so good when you get through all your obstacles and you can actually drive it!! bet you wish you had this right now....
