  1. So is the "individual" going to cough up the dough without having the insurance company get involved? Only $1600 in damage? Thats not as bad as I had invisioned. Probably all the car wreck movies I have seen but I had an image of the stang completly inside your dinning room where the table used to be!!!
  2. Thanks Man getting ready to do a bunch of that kind of work. I was considering this product though. POR-15 Body Filler Seems to have similar charecteristics to the Durabond. Anyone ever try it?
  3. There were some posts about the Phantom Grip. Cheap for a reason...junk. Don't know it for a fact but that was the impression I got from the posts.....did you uhhhhhhhh SEARCH!?!?! ZMe, If you look at Ross's site the Quafie is 1,990!!!! Even though it's rebuit by him you still have to pay shipping both ways and you still won't have Cv's.
  4. Thanks PoP I actually had not considered that . Very Good Point. It actually fell very slowly, don't think I did any damage. Just didn't want to blow my back out wretling with it anymore so she is sleeping on her side covered in a blanket.

  6. I have been researching this for a while. I think the swap Tim has mapped out is definately the best bang for the buck. 200 LSD are very hard to find and then you still need 300 zx avles and adapters blah blah blah With Tims setup everything is easily available (at least in your part of the country, at the moment I cant find a R230 around here) and it seems bulletproof MKelly sugested it to me when I asked his opinion on this same subject. Sooo look for a good deal on a Q45 then order some axles through Tim. I want to order some as well but I guess we need a few people to do it together so the machine shop will dedicate the machinery to the job.
  7. I used to get "peeved" when someone would reply like this...but since I have answerd this exact question twice this week... I second the motion... Top of the page...second link from the left.
  8. There would probably be some copywright infringements there. However if it was put up on "someones" FTP and there was a link, I think HybridZ would be OK.
  9. Hey Drew, How long did it take to get your cowl? I know they have a bad rep, but some of their parts look nice. I actually had not thought about blending those seems but you know what? Sounds like a great idea. It will be a while before I start the fiberglass process so maybe you can shoot me some pics of your progress? I would love to see a pic of your cowl as well. You said hood though. You aren't talking about a cowl induction hood are you? The piece I am referring to is the vented long piece at the base of the windshild. Rufus
  10. Does anyone make one? I know some of you guys have spent a lot of time smoothing these out. Since my front clip will be all glass an carbon fiber, I would love to have one that was non-vented and glass!!
  11. Mike Mike Mike...First of all it would be TRAITOR secondly being affiliated with more than one group affords me more allies on the war with the non-datsun driving public!!!!
  12. I forgot to mention...I think I belong to 2 groups now JSR and WBR. Thats right needed my jackstands for the rear of my car so the front is now supported by ...WOOD BLOCKS!!! Waddaya say Aux...got t-shirts, stickers, patches and a huge windshield banner for me?
  13. Thanks Jon, I was just digging through my old posts because I knew it was in there somewhere but the two links I found were to the old site and did not work. Very Cool!! I guess I don't need to find a Muctache Bar for my Q45 swap now!! Another way to tell is the drain plugs. Looks like the 180s have a male square while the 200 hase a female allen. I definately have a 200!!!
  14. Looks like the BRE type from MSA. Is it about the same thing?
  15. Yup, Tha car gets lighter every time I go to the shop! Soaked everything up with PB Blaster, cleaned up the shop, had a beer, and an hour later it was out. I was looking at the diff, I am wondering if it is a 180 or a 200? With the reading I have done I thought all 280's had a R180. But the rear cover is almost square 10 x 9 and it had 8 cover bolts. It has a 22 painted on top (interseting because I have a tattoo with the # 22 on it) and the raised lattering cast in the top reads: A S8811 NS1D3 B Anyony know what these mean? Some letters may be wrong as they were hard to read but its close. Next week I am going to get my Rotisserie and mount her up for the stripping. Usually I would strip her before I mount her...I guess I will try it a little different this time!!!
  16. Sorry to hear about that Mike. Its probably best that you were not there at the time!!! Something like that could easily cause irrepairable damage to blood vessles in the brain!! Glad to hear no one was hurt. The stinky part will be dealing with all the red tape that follows something like this. Tell him he now owns the car, and will pay for the repairs on your house. See what he says, he may be reluctant to go through the insurance company as well. Good Luck Man. Rufus
  17. When you shaved your drip rails, how close to the roof did you cut? Did you weld before you cut the whole rail off? And again what did John charge you to ship the hood? Thanks, Rufus
  18. Glenn, My 1/4's extend all the way into the channel for the hatch back and 1/8 way along the roof line. Do you think I will have stuctural problems if I remove that much material? Check out the 1/4's HERE
  19. The short answer is both front andrear 240 bumpers will fit on a 280. The long story is there are many different ways to get it to happen. None are a simple bolt on app. which is what it sems you are looking for. In any case you will need to make your own brakets. Remove both the front and rear shock absorbers, get a set of 240 bumpers, pick them up and place them against the car. At this point visualize what you will need to fab in order to get them to fit. The fronts will be a lot easier than the backs. Basically it will consist of some "s" shaped bent 1 1/2" metal stock. I have a 260 front bumper I will sell you if you can't find a 240. Very similar. No brackets or rubber. $75 plus shipping. Rufus
  20. Getting ready to cut out my 1/4's. Any opinions on the best tool for the job? Air nibbler? Will an air powered cut off wheel work? Don't have a nibbler.
  21. If you had to turn the piston in then most likely the Ebrake adjusts the piston. Each time you pull the Ebrake it rachets the piston out. May have to do it a couple of times to get it snug. Once you feel normal resistance on the Ebrake lever it should be adjusted properly.
  22. Vents!!! The job you are doing looks great!!! The extension id pretty cool!!! What did John charge you to ship it?
  23. Thats what I did (didn't try the babes web page though) Cleared up my problem. The one of not being able to stay logged in anyway!!!
  24. I am envious myself. With the long list of stuff I have to do to my car I continuously think about doing this swap. Thats why when my motor fell over I wasn't all that upset. I figured " If its broken I will HAVE to put in the LS1!!"
