you could parallel wire cop units for a waste spark setup and get rid of spark plug wires.there are different cop units out.ford uses standard coils that need only 2 wires.but i have seen bosch units off of bmw that run 4 wires .i suspect the power transistor is built into the cop units.if the power transistors were built into the cop units it would be easy for ms to run these cop units.msd has a 4 channel box to fire waste spark coils but it is $.motorcycles have run waste spark for years.

called cometic-they said they dont make them.courtesy nissan is on back order with no known date.any suggestions?i got a fel-pro headset last summer for l28et and it had a multi layer metal gaskit in it-anyone ever try one of these?this is on a 18-20 psi turbo application.

here in central valley in komifornia its been hot.but i was at lake of the ozarks in missouri last summer and the last day was 97 with 95% humidity.i was thinking about moving there until that day.its been about 100 in the shop were i work.not much work on my z after work on fords all day.but i got some valve guides pressed in tonight.

you can spend $1,000,000 on that car -but if the fuel supply doesnt follow the amount of air put out by the turbo it will continue to blow up.maybe another computor to control additional injectors?the usual aftermarkit crutch okie rig on a turbo kit is to raise the fuel pressure under boost.maybe install a innovate motorsports wide band o2 kit and do some datalogging.throwing aftermarkit parts on late model cars usually doesnt work the way its supposed to.my opinion would be to put another computor to control another injector in each throttle body.since i work as a ford dealer tech i will to you what happens to fords when owners play with them-warrenty voided. -
if i had the bucks i would put 1 in my z.the sandrail boys in socal use them.a 20b at 9000 rpm sounds like f1 motor.

my girlfriend just traded in her 2000 maxima with 90k miles on it for a 2006 honda accord v6 coupe.she only got $6900 for the trade in.the maxima was lighting the check engine light for a weak cat convertor and she didnt want to fix it.but the maxima seemed faster than the accord even though the accord seems like a lighter car.the maxima would run out to 130 mph and cruised easy at 100mph.usually got about 28 mpg on the freeway at 75.kind of like a japanese 5 series bmw.i would have bought it but there was a bank loan involved on it.

if car has been in water it will never operate correctly.the many connectors around the car will grow the dreaded green corrosion.pull the valve cover and check the cam for rust.pull the ecm and remove the cover and look for green powder stuff on connections.pull the seats and look under the rugs.after looking around you will be able to figure out how much work it will take to restore the car.if you cut some of the harness covers open and the harnesses are wet inside the harnesses will rot.83 Zxt has lots of electrical extras-probably not my first pick for a performance car. -

i had a boat for sale 2 years ago for 15k and got a check sent to me fed ex from uae for 22k.i deposited the check and when the guys that sent me the check emailed me back i emailed them back a webpage all about thier scam and never heard from them again.i also told them i sent the check to the fbi .i called the fbi but they werent interested.the bank charged me $5 for running the check through my account.if you question a check just dont send the goods out till the check clears -the bank will let you use some money off of a check but then will charge you back if it bounces.when i sold the boat to a boat dealer for some reason the check didnt clear for 15 days. -
this is what the mig welder,chop saw and scrap box are for.plus blocks of wood .caddy is probably a very overlooked engine and there is nothing more satisfying then a boatload of torque.now for that rare 3.31 r200 ring & pinion.

i have a 77 280 with factory ac .i used a 240sx intercooler i bought off of ebay -1 of those big chinese parts for rb install.i reclocked the turbo (t4-t3 hybrid) and ran the hot side pipe under the engine and through the rad core support on rh side.hot side pipe was welded fron summit u bends.i put some of those cast 90 bends from turbonetics on the ic.

i liked watching the busa's because of the speed and the professional level that the bikes were prepped to-watching them down load the datalogging and change clutches just for 1 race was very extreme.trying to watch mr.host of show arm flag an 8 second bike-i think they should have just turned the timing lights on.

1975 and older are fair game but if you really get technical all older vehicles must have all original emissions equipment on board.so if you piss a cop off he can send your hot rod to the referee station.so a restored 69 camaro with a blower sticking up will probably get let go.but since most leo's have a hard on for kids in jap cars operating a modded z is a grey area.but i had a chp pull me over for forgetting to put new year sticker on license plate and when i remembered it was in the glove box he let me put it on and started talking about the z he used to have.bottem line -if you hang with the wannabe-fast&furious crowd you are looking for trouble.if your z looks decent and you are out on a sunday drive and dont argue with leo you will probably not have a problem.

from what i have heard if you bore out a l24 rod 1mm on the small end and run a ld28 crank you can use these pistons.i got a free set .the piston has a roughly 9cc dish-i measured it with a syringe and soapy water.what would compression ratio be with p90 head?bore size is 86.5 mm

yellow wire goes on bottem leg of t-if assembly is mounted in oem position it will be the rear terminal.to set fidle to pwm you have to goto the configuration file-its a white screen with lines that start with the words set or unset.good luck-since i am not a computor geek i found this very frustrating.

you have to watch for numbers of reciepts and statements-i shred everything with numbers going into the garbage.

i think what 1fastz meant was that the rod bearing diameter of maxima was 5mm smaller-then you could offset grind a crank with rod journels 5mm smaller for +5mm stroke.if you did that to ld28 you would be +7mm .i wonder what maxima engine he was refering to-vg30?if you are a machinist you make things fit-after you scrounge them from pick&pull .may be some toyota rods?

i ran my fidle direct tothe yellow wire on zxt coil bracket/power transistor.no gm module needed.but there is a jumper and pull up resistor on my relay board mounted in the fidle relay socket.the ini file needs to be set for pulse width modulation of the fidle.the fuel pump should cycle for 2 seconds or so after key on and during crank.

the tach line is hot-ms fires when the tach wire voltage drops to 0.this is how points function on old points ignition.when you run a magnet in front of hall effect it with a test led on it the led should go out and be on when there is no magnet in front of hall sensor.troubleshoot the circuit with a led disconncted from the ms.start from the hall sensor and work back to the ms.

sensor only reads the south pole of the magnet-check that.and air gap of magnet.i think i used a 1.5 k but if it works on 2.2 k thats ok.

what better way to drift than with some good american torque?400 hp easy .i dont like 400 hp at 7000rpm.i like mine at 4000 rpm.much more fun.

75 to 78 5 speed had a big gap between 2nd and 3rd and 5th was close to 4th,.most people dont notice this-i didnt until a track day ar sears point between turns 2 and 3.i think nissan used same ratios on truck trans.82-83 had best 5th for freeway .81 zx na has its own 5th ratio.zx trans has a slightly different shift tower with lees throw.for drag racing some people might prefer the 75-78 trans because 1st gear is lower.the reason most trans problems happen is usually a leaky speedo drive-the countershaft bearings run low on lube.i build my own trans.a 82 zx trans built correctly and running on redline mtl shifts like butter -much better than t5.but if my turbo engine breaks the na trans soon i will be running a wc t5 mated to a zxt t5 bellhousing-close ratios and an even better 5th for the freeway.

i have a 77 with 82zxt motor with air.easiest thing to do would be to go to pick& pull and get compressor and compressor bracket then use vintage air unit inside the car.some radiator shops crimp a.c hoses.you reuse the metal ends on hoses and cut the crimps off and replace the hoses to make custom hoses.if you use r143 the compressor will have to be flushed to use r143 oil.

the fidle on the relay board is connected to the yellow wire on the transistor connector.there is a jumper and pull up resistor on the relay board in place of the fidle relay.
