No need to double post, people read all the forums. You say it's on jackstands, so I take it the rear wheels are turning also. It could be gear noise you are hearing. I would put it on the ground and take it for a short ride. Once the car is sitting on it's own weight the whine may go away. If you still hear it, and you make sure it's not the rear end, it could be the pump in the tranny that the torque converter slips onto.

Why don't you bolt on the stock T5 slave cylinder instead on the throwout bearing?

Not to mention the BBC is much heavier than a SBC, so there will be more weight on the front end and kill your handling. Unless you set back the BBC through the firewall but that is a lot of fabbing.

A WC T-5 may hold awile as long as you don't dump the clutch. But what you need is a Tremic T-5 for 400 - 450 hp. A new one of these will cost as much or more than a used T56.

Did you check if the battery has voltage? You could have a small short somewhere and it drained the battery. If there is 12+ voltage, maybe your starter is stuck, or bad, or your battery cables are corroded or loose.

Money to buy the cars would help!

I took the solenoid off, then took out the heavy spring, and replaced it with a softer spring. I tried a few different springs until I found one that I liked.

Datsun Z cars on average are cheap. Condition varies, but try to find one with as little rust as possible. Check the frame with a metel pick, you want a strong frame since you want to drag race it.

Sounds like a problem with your headlight switch on the column.
