  1. lol... Very sweet car. Is that what the stock inner fenders look like, or is that adapted from another car? Another question: Why is it hosted on the f150 forums?
  2. cool. I wonder how much it will fetch.
  3. I'm very curious to see what this problem turns out to be.
  4. have you tried powering the MS with an external 12v battery? This would Isolate it to an ignition related or Megasquirt related problem.
  5. Get in touch with ron carter. You can see his gallery at classiczcars.com. He has done exactly what you want to do.
  6. Check your throttle linkage. Make sure the pedal is not sticking on any carpet, and that the linkage isn't snagging on any part of the intake manifold (assuming you have the rod type linkage).
  7. what compression is that? 11:1? What size are the triples, and do you know anything about your AFRs?
  8. Did it start sounding like a diesel after you adjusted the valves or did it develop after a while? Perhaps you did not tighten down the locknuts enough and they have since slipped. The way I adjust my valves I use the feeler gauge, and adjust the valve to where the feeler gauge has just a little bit of drag on it when i'm pulling it out. The way I do it, the next size up doesn't even fit. I don't know if that is a bad way to do it, but it has worked for me for about 3 years now, and my engine definitely does not sound like a diesel. (although there is some light ticking)
  9. Ok so I have 4 swasticas, and one of them is warped. It has axial runout and has caused my inner tie rod and wheel bearings to slowly gain slop over time. I can either have the wheel repaired or buy a used one. How do shops straighten wheels? Will the methods that will be used to true the wheel sacrifice any strength? I can get used swasticas for around 50 bucks a piece. I wanted to buy brand new wheels, but that is out of my budget right now.
  10. This last picture you drew will not really stop the towers from flexing either. If you think about it, when the device is in compression, the front most bar will still bend. This design, however, would be very good at stopping any forces going towards the back of the car.
  11. for the average person it shouldn't take more than 2 hours to get the head off.

  13. I used some of that on my header. Worked great for the first year, but after that it started to rust a little near the head. I have heard you have to coat it once a year to hold up a good finish on a header. On an exhaust system, it shouldn't be nearly as bad.
  14. This is the only bit of information you need to understand the whole situation here. The only way that the caliper could directly jack the car up or pull it down is by mounting the caliper to the sprung assembly, and still have it act on a rotor attached to the unsprung hub. This turns the caliper into an external force, as seen in the 280zx example Jon mentioned.
  15. the one in the last picture you posted has that metal "shelf"
  16. LOL you got me. This is a good start up map. I've done about 2hrs total tuning on the car, and most of that was just trying to get it to start! AFR's are pretty consistent at "higher load" at about 11.5:1, but anything in between load and cruising and the AFRs are all over the place. So far we have not hit WOT while tuning (to keep the engine from blowing up!) There is a lot of fine tuning to be done.
  17. Turbo280Z, Repeating your "need" for an item in public posts isn't the wisest way to get the best price. Your best bet is to conduct that sort of thing in emails or PM's. Just some advice...
  18. base pressure is 30psi. the car runs an msd ignition box as well. It has a star/quest intercooler and a 300zx watercooled turbo.
  19. Hey Phil. Here are some screen shots of the map. This car runs MSII so you can't just plug in the *.msq file. The current ve map looks kinda funky cus, well its a work in progress but lets just say the car hauls a** right now, with a few hiccups.
  20. How much did 432 and 432r's sell for when they were sold... and how much did a standard 2.4 powered fairlady go for? I wonder why the PS30-SB only came in orange.
  21. do you have a wideband o2 sensor? It GREATLY shortens tuning time. If you need help I have a map for a turbo 280z i've been working on that runs 440cc injectors. This is on a car that runs a wideband. Should get you fired up.
