  1. my car's tires have some axial run out. This causes the wheel to shake at around 70mph. They were able to balance the tires perfectly, but the shape of the wheel is more important than balance. I would start by checking runout... axially and radially.
  2. I saw one of those at a junk yard once. I spent a good 30min or so "exploring" it...
  3. yeah... a weld-it-yourself kit would be AWESOME.
  4. I wonder what the wheelbase was after that swap.
  5. isn't that what dry sump systems are for?
  6. According to the efi bible, (on non-turbo pre zx models) it says that the TP switch is used to let the engine know when to cut fuel on decel. Conversly it richens the mixture at full throttle. It doesn't mention to what extent it richens the mixture though. also, the efi bible says it adds fuel at idle to keep the engine from dying "If the engine is idling, then the control unit can richen the mixture ratio slightly, just as the idle circuit in a carburetor supplies a slightly richer mixture than does the high-speed circuit."
  7. I'm not really into modeling other than for parts that will be made (rather simple parts...) and I mostly use solid works. Is there a reason you chose inventor over any other program?
  8. It seems like the only people who would actually buy this are those who can get the engine running simply by hooking up a bat. + to the coil and wiring the starter. this doesn't really offer anything after that, and if anyone is setting up any new engine with a full engine management system, they probably have the skill to make one anyway. with that said, we made one at school, to fire up our honda engine: red: throttle control blue: stock honda motorcycle display yellow: switches, FP, ECU power, Starter light green: radiator photo credit: adam barrera of highmileage.org
  9. how much time did it take to make these? What i'm getting at, is how much will it cost for me to buy a set of 'em?
  10. heh. How many sentences did she start with "then you gotta" ?
  11. he had a 'chute and everything! Yeah, must take some skill to drive that beast.
  12. In a system like this, is it possible to use lower spring pressures, since there is no valve float due to lack of a camshaft? Will using a lower spring pressure cause any compression sealing issues? also, would this allow you to cut off all oil going to the head? since you are not running a timing chain there is no need to lubricate that, and there is no camshaft, so is oil still necessary up there? F1 teams are using this technology, but all their operations are hush hush.
  13. that stinks man. glad you're still with us.
  14. thanks! I'm going to check for charging voltage and the ammeter trick tomorrow.
  15. I spent the day disconnecting harnesses trying to isolate the situation... Somewhere along the line i rendered my lights useless. I'm not even getting 12 volts to the switch anymore! Does anyone have any tips on tracing a short?
  16. Maybe I'm OCD but I couldn't be comfortable in the car unless those side portions ran in a straight line across the car.
  17. There is only one member coming out of that "node" that would make the car assymetrical, and that would be the one going to the center of the dash. All the other ones are diagonals that triangulate with the roll bar, the middle rear bar, and the floor.
  18. Didn't know about the resistor. Lucily I have only dealt with blue box lc-1's (with success).
  19. WOW that speeedo was moving faster than my tach moves! You should get down to the 1/4 and get some times. The lm-1 should have a programmable output. you just have to program the LM1 to have the same voltage as the ms is reading. 0-20v .5-1.5 lambda... or so. -Oliver
  20. There appears to be a short in my parking light system. With the engine idling and no parking lights on my voltmeter shows 12.4 volts and increasing across the battery terminals. as soon as I flip on the parking lights the voltage starts to decrease until the engine dies. This does not happen with the standard headlights on, or with any other accessory. How do I go about tracing this short? What should my voltmeter be reading, or what should the resistance be at different points? I feel like a noob right now :/
  21. I've seen a pantera z31 before. http://www.geocities.jp/tanetane92/20060618nncs01.html 3rd pic down.
