  1. If I understand your post right she is your friend's friend? Have her join ZONC, the Z car club, and have her get in touch with the SAC area co-ordinator and I'm sure he can help her or point her in the right direction. LARRY
  2. Do you have an adj. fuel reg. and what's the psi to the carb?? LARRY
  3. Type tach in the Search This Forum box and click go..... Start reading the threads. LARRY
  4. A couple of other points, check for half price days and sometimes they pick a single item like transmissions and give them a reduced rate. Also do the junk yard tour, find out the other yards in different cities that are connected with them. A entrance fee at one place is honored in other cities so make a day of it by doing a circuit of j/y's... LARRY
  5. Don't know if this helps but MSA sells a 79-83 ZX non-turbo, 82-83 ZX turbo, and a 74-83 2+2 driveshaft. The 2+2 you have to call them so I'd call like I was buying one and find out the facts... LARRY
  6. I wiil say this, at least it's manufactured. We've had a rash of body parts offered by people lately that's been more hope and promise than actual parts in someone's hand. LARRY
  7. What did we do???? KEEP UPGRADING.... Now you're starting to see why I laugh when the question is asked, "How much does a V8 Conversion cost? with an answer of $2500. Everytime you change a part the weakest link moves down the line. If you put a R-200 in maybe the u-joints will fail or......ect,ect. That's why my standard answer on this is "There's no end in sight". LARRY
  8. Thanks Hanns for above and beyond the call of duty in getting this info for us. PS: Send Dan your travel exspences...LOL LARRY
  9. Mike, chelle, and Tom ..First I'd like to say I really like the kit and what people have done with it to make it a really fine looking car. HybridZ is not the place to rehash the past on the dealings that happened with ordering the kit between the three of you. Please take this off-line and get back to the original intent of this thread now. I had found it very interesting. LARRY
  10. http://www.datsunrestore.com/datsun_stuff.html LARRY
  11. Sounds good but I think you need to look again at you 1/4 mile time in your signature.... LARRY
  12. All this dual quad talk made me think of a couple of great muscle car Beach Boy songs. 1.) 409... A line in it is " My four speed, dual quad, posi-traction 409." "She's real fine my 409." 2.) Shutdown... a song of a race between a Stingray and a Super stock Dodge. " Pedal's to the floor hear the dual quads drink. And now the Four-thirteen's lead is starting to shrink. He's hot with Ram Induction but it's understood. I got a fuel injected engine sitting under my hood. Shut it off, Shut it off, Buddy now I shut you down." LARRY
  13. Driveshafts can be interchanged between A and B and early 4 and 5 speed trannies. Shifters can not be. Early Trannies.... F4W71A "A" type 4 speed.... Build date 69-8/71. F4W71B "B" type 4 speed.... Build date 9/71-76. FS5W71B "B" type 5 speed....77-78 280Z and 79 280ZX. LARRY
  14. Inquiring minds want to know... Thanks Hanns. LARRY
  15. Have a read of this post.....http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=67657 LARRY
  16. Buy the Datsun V8 Conversion manual and read it a few time, it's all there. You can order it at the same time as your JTR kit. http://www.jagsthatrun.com/ Where in NorCal are you?? LARRY
  17. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=107426&highlight=MOTOR+MOUNTS This is one thread of many...Did you type in motor mounts in the search this forum box???? LARRY
  18. I noticed that alot of members are telling people to use a web hosting site for uploading pictures. You can upload direct from your computer now to your album. LARRY
  19. My most fun is running against the Mustang "Dyno Queens" who spout their 450+ rear wheel figures at me and I say let's go for a little run...... They end up in my rear veiw mirror not realizing that extra 1000+ lbs they're carrying is in my favor... LARRY
  20. This run is at 10lb boost with iron heads. Let's just say the 195 AFR heads plus a couple other changes like lift, bee hive springs, and roller rockers has improved these numbers shown.... My problem now is wheel spin from a dead stop at WOT. It's a street car so 225-50-15 tires are it but I still like to "spank" them at the light. I've got a raced prepped TH-350 with 2400 stall and a mild cam. I went to AFR heads because you'll notice at 4200 rpm I started to flatten out. That's changed now... Sorry for the thread subject change.. LARRY
  21. LOL... I'm not the one to ask about doing things different or costing $$$. Go for it.... Here's a couple old videos to give you a feel for sidepipe sounds. One is at idle and one was a dyno run. LARRY
