  1. I split the cost of the ceramic coating(CBX) the dry film lubricant (DFL) and the WSX,which is a cylinder wall and a valve guide lubricant. My half was around $60.A bag of 120 grit aluminum oxide was $22 and a quart of laquer thinner was $6.All of the parts were heated in a standard electric oven with the exception of the head that cost me $45 to have it heated to temp for an hour in a head straightening oven.Doing it yourself is labor intensive ,but quite a bit cheaper than having a shop do it.The exhaust manifold was coated with 2000* resistant coating inside and out and it cost me a little over $200.
  2. The combustion chambers ,valves, pistons intake and exhaust ports intake and exhaust manifolds were all ceramic coated. The Camshaft rockers and pivot balls for the rockers as well as the cam tower bearings were all coated with DFL dry film lubricant. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sss510six/album?.dir=/63ef&urlhint=actn,del%3as,1%3af,0 http://www.techlinecoatings.com/introduction.html I was convinced about the coatings after seeing a set of pistons from a 300zxtt Bonneville Salt Flats car after detonation had set in so bad that the heads had dime size pieces missing from the aluminum in the combustion chambers and were renderred useless. While the CBX coated pistons were unharmed and even re used in another motor. My previous N20 turbo drag motor was damaged by detonation after a momentary fuel starvation problem, I belive that if I would have had had all of the parts coated pistons, combustion chamber, valves..ect.That the motor would still be running 1/4 miles and ingesting compressed air and N20.

  4. I was looking for a sealant for mY NISMO SS gasket and came across this site for copper head gaskets. http://www.headgasket.com/gaskets.html I looked on their PDF file and they have L28 head gaskets.
  5. http://www.proshocks.com/srshocks/dwncat.htm If you downlog the catalog they have the threaded collars and the nuts as well as any spring rate you should need.I used the proshock kit on several 280zx struts.
  6. The lightest clutch for the money http://www.10000rpm.com/. I am going to use one of there twin disc units in my strip/street car.
  7. Are you going to use the AEM Universal EMS? or are you planning on building a custom wiring harness and using another comp?
  8. Mustangs for me too...I have handed out several *ss whippings to 66 Shelby in race trim,a brand new 2002 Cobra on a test drive and a buddies 406 Windsor stroker drag car at the track and to many 5.0`s to count.
  9. Dave,LOL.I just have a need for speed.Plus the stealth factor doesn`t hurt.
  10. Scottie, A friend of mine who races bikes told me"The guy is scared of the bike and is going to baby it off the line, so holeshot Him in front of the crowd"The car runs 1.6 to low 1.5 60` with 7" slicks and a bunch of stuff done to the rear end.The best part is that it was an exhibition run at Battle of the Imports so the crowd could see the bike make a sorting out pass. The bike was a turbocharged Busa with an extended swingarm.

  12. I ran a 2600lb pressure plate and a sintered iron disc for over 2 years with a mix of mostly stock Nissan parts and have had no problems. The clutch master is a unit from a 280z the slave is from a 1985 720 pickup the clutch fork and rod are from a 1970 510 .The fork and rod are setup to be adjustable and this gives the option of making the rod any length needed. The fork is then renforced at the point the rod goes through.
  13. The dented or concave section in the non adjustable fork is actually larger than the non adjustable one. This is due to a larger ball shaped piece that fits into the throw out bearing fork.I would use all the pieces together.
  14. Personally, my favorite anti lag is a shot of N20.
  15. Even though I am running an L series motor, the setup still put down more than 500 rwh and almost 500fpt and the T56 survived over 200 hard drag launches on slicks before having to be rebuilt and upgraded.I am a beliver in the T56.Plus it delivered 28mpg on the freeway @70mph at 1600rpm off boost.
  16. I can`t wait to see a race gas tune and a 1/4 mile time.congrats
  17. Nice work the bottom end should be able to hold some serious HP.What tranny are you planning on running? You wouldn`t want to leave pieces of transmission on the ground.

It reminds me of going down to LA "back in the day", with my 70 Datsun 510 wagon that had a fairly wicked little turbo motor.I listened to more than my share of trash talk and Guys would cry foul at the traction compound and the propane torch to heat up the road.I would always reply, "Don`t bring a knife to a gunfight".I still would never bet the car too many things could go wrong in a street race.
  19. I have a friend with a 91 Eclipse with a 18g and running 20psi with pump gas.I plan on running 20psi with a Large T3/T4 with Methanol/ Water injection.http://www.coolingmist.com/categories.aspx?action=set&res=800 Spearco made a a decent water injection kit that I ran with a CT26 making 275rwh @ 12psi.The newer water/alcohol injection kits run much higher presure 100-150psi vs.40 psi for the Spearco and they atomize the mixture much finer to absorb even more heat.
  20. I have a set of 930cv for use in my 510 after all of the Nissan soild U joint axels that I have wear out. They look great BTW.
  21. I used a MSD digital 6 and launched at 5500rpm.Of course My idea of a launch is a shot of N20 to spool the turbo off the line...very enetertaining.
  22. It`s true I got thumbs up from the muscle car guys and the imports alike at the drag strip.
  23. The reason I went with the T56 was because I was planning on putting over 450rwh to the ground with slicks.I didn`t want to leave pieces of a L series 5 speed on the starting line.BTW my 3 liter pulls the .50 sixth gear just fine at 70mph.
  24. N20 and L motors work great together I would limit the rwh shot to around 100 rwh as the stock cast pistons will start to compress and lock up on the compression ring. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sss510six/album?.dir=15c7&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2071134
