  1. I'm running my MSD power to a toggle to cut it off. If not, my alternator, which is wired to the main power switches (I have one outside the car and one on the dash) continues to run-on. As to locations outside the car, I ditched the wiper arm on the driver's side (removed the whole assembly actually) and installed it there. Mike
  2. That is a very clean example. Not sure it'll go for $22K but it probably should. Mike
  3. AND they'll miss our wisdom and experience... Sometimes they need that. Horse---->water.
  4. Going to install shorter plugs, repair some plug wires, and adjust the clutch rod this AM. Hopefully we'll have these minor issues resolved so we can move on to the next couple of items on the list. Mike
  5. Very similar to my 383 stroker, except the brand of the parts. Should be a solid performer. Mike
  6. I can't believe he put me on the ignore list... Crushed... Hahahahahaha!
  7. You got a PM... Just let me know... Can go out this week, and I take Paypal. Mike
  8. Zfire, Would be interested in seeing the rest of the project... You have a build thread? I'm just an hour north of you. Mike
  9. I have a set of those headers PYRO mentions above I'd gladly sell you. I bought them for JNJracecars and didn't use them. They're ceramic coated, but you could cut them as needed and reweld them. Let me know. Mike
  10. Dave that thing still looks amazing. You ever decide to sell it, let me know... Mike
  11. Looking forward to the final final final version! Mike
  12. Had a couple friends of mine, father and son actually, come over and give me a hand yesterday with the clutch hydraulics. We got that sorted and functioning again. I now have an issue with TWO header wires burned thru the fireproof boot socks due to clearance on the headers. Ugh... If it isn't one thing, it's another, right? Mike
  13. Let me tell you a story about a very expensive 670HP Porsche, and three Clutch swaps... Guy (Me) walks into a Porsche specialty shop to discuss an upgrade to his clutch. They say "Well you know, we don't want to insult you but our GOLD STANDARD clutch kit is rated at 500HP. It'll be just fine for your car, we're sure!". Three clutch swaps (at their expense) and a month later, the shop ate crow and the guy said, I shyte you not "If you knew how many guys came in claiming beyond unrealistic numbers, you'd understand why we didn't believe you." That knife is double edged. Mike
  14. Don't count on it. The state of the economy is something I'm gauging heavily and will dictate my event plans this year. Mike
  15. Correct. There are any number of reasons why I seldom go to other websites. I have a number of them I respect and enjoy being a member of. Others could go away for ever because they aren't a part of my world, and their membership is nothing but a bunch of sniping little twits who collectively have no spine. There is a generational gap and unfortunately sometimes the words and how they are used get in the way of a person's ability to receive or accept help. Is what it is. It's why I enjoy the sites I still participate in. But make no bones about it, if you expect to get help with your research, you should know that we expect EFFORT on your part, in either DOING the research or ASKING the right questions. The world isn't a kind place. Wear an F'n helmet. Mike
  16. That is generally my strategy when betting on ponies or doggies to race... Bet on the one that drops a deuce right before entering the gate. Speaking of which... I'll be right back. Mike
  17. I know, I know... No updates... Been really ReALLY busy with the whole work thing. We have a total of 8 proposals on the "due date" bubble right now, along with tax season, which for a company or corporation is a tad more complex than the normal return, along with this whole Sequestration BRAVO SIERRA in Washington, which is directly impacting our ability to work and play. AND I still have tennis elbow. But hey, yesterday I DID start the Zcar for the guy who'se girlfriend came to buy the Turbo Miata. Yup... It's sold and on to its new home. 6 months into it and really enjoying it, but he called at the right time and I sent it home with them. Fortunately the BF of the new owner is Tom Harris' boss at Classic Aviation. So Tom will keep an eye on it and help them out if anything goes wrong. Mike
  18. I think Tony is just being mean! Bahahahahahaha
  19. 16 posts and you've come to this conclusion... Interesting. Here's the thing. We created this site because we were hammered by the ZCAR community for "butchering" such "priceless treasures". 15 years later, we still have little patience for laziness, ignorance, and stupidity. Some of us try to help, but honestly, sometimes when you know the info is out there, it gets tiring. The comments about some of the mods are uncalled for. If you have an issue with how a mod/admin has behaved, send a PM to John or Superdan. Keep in mind that it takes a lot of effort to maintain a successful website. These folks don't get paid for their efforts, and they do a damned good job. They're also human and have bad days, just like you and I. But honestly, 16 posts in? Maybe you should post less and read more until you get the hang of it. Mike "Retired co-founder" Kelly
  20. There's a new member here who lives in my general area. He is building a turbo L6 motor for his 240Z and he bought MS2 on my recommendation. I'll steer him to this thread. I'm pretty certain he's going to need help with his base maps. Mike
  21. Hope they are to your liking. The Springs are matched to the cam kit, per COMP CAMS. I think they're blue stripe 908s. Mike
  22. Mark, Nope this is a white one. But it sounds similarly built. Mike
  23. I just did this very thing... Figure the exhaust only has to last a year and said "Screw it" and welded it up. For a serious street car you only want to do this once on, I'd recommend doing what John recommended. You may also want to consider sending the pieces out to be coated. Mike
