I uploaded it and it works, but i don't know the adress location. Hopefully jtmny1999 will post a link soon. I also have the file on limewire 24/7 for the time being. Note: This is not one of the real life videos of the wangan 240Z. This is a movie based on the manga.

Gawd I hate SVT performance. It used to be such a cool forum. Now it's wasted on ignorant ford lovers. The reactions on SVTperformance narrowed down to 3 responce types. 1. People that were ignorant and didn't like it at all becuase it's a "rice" motor. (the exhast was a big no no too apparently...) 2. People that hated the idea purely because it's a classic car that deserves a ford motor. 3. People that didn't mind and actually respect the RB motors. Type 1 sucks, they're all idiots and they're the domestic equivalent of ricers. I don't care if thier car is fast, they're still ignorant pigs that don't know anything real about loving cars and motorsports. Type 2. Ok, they have a fair argument, but japanese could view putting a V8 in a Z the SAME WAY. The Z is very much to japan as the mustang is to america. And most these people types wouldn't mind a newer ford cammer motor in that car, but to me if you're gonna be a purist do it right, to these people even a 427 shouldn't go into it beucase they didn't "come with one as an opition." The purist road has is valid reasons to think that way, but to me a purist is too concerned about preserving something that doesn't need to be preserved. There are plenty of historical stagns out there. I wouldn't worry about them going extinct (they don't seem to agree about that though). Type 3 Well, these people are cool, but they don't seem to respect the history of the car and make the wrong arguments. Ok, sure the bottom end of a RB26 can take 1000hp, but they don't talk about the reasons. The heads make most of this possible here, even the best pistons will fall apart with detonation under high boost. There's all these type 1 people saying "no replacement for dislpacement" but type 3 people don't mention that if a 4.6 ford V8 had the heads from the skyline it would no longer fit in the engine bay. When you start building motors to be highly efficiant, most of your research goes into the head. Quench, compression, lift, duration, valve angle, timing, it all adds up, and that's where you gain efficiency. So I'd probly fall into type 3, but I understand type 2 people's reasonings. But to be fair there are the same people in the Z crowd that hate V8 swaps, and that doesn't bother me. That's one more V8 out there in the junkyards to be picked up. I think it's cool that you can build a 300hp l28et no problem, and it would probly spank alot of V8zs i've seen (in person) run. But to each thier own, just please don't hate other people's cars/ideas just becuase they're different. Now, if this is the FF3 car then I understand thier reasoning. The movie is supposed to take place in japan. I bet most humans with half a brain would put this motor into a stang if they were living over there. More part availibility, simple as that. You'd have to ship parts over for a V8 all the time and that would become a hassle for a street racer. Under the FF premis, it just makes sence. Does that mean I like the previous movies and/or am looking foward to the next one? NO, HELL NO. F&F is one of the things I hate most in the world, but I can still try to understand the reasoning behind the movies ideas can't I? Nice 8) Spoken like a true enlightened car dude.

Well, on the comfort & size topic.... the EVO and STI kill the stang. They're both quite large cars and are ultra light, and they're both very comfortable cars with the needed luxuries like power windows, AC, PS, ect. And rudypoochris, I know it seemed I was implying that the big 3 should race in rally, but was I really meant was that america neededs a race formate like rally where the chassis & drivetrain stay very close in design to stock versions, and then we need people to actually watch it. <--that's the key part. And I think you're right that japanese seem to have more overal respect for performance when they buy a car, but much less percentile can actually afford cars there. And I forget who it was guestimating that 10 year old engines won't be able to pass smog, but that sounds much like what's going on in japan. Most motors either get swapped out or rebuilt between 30-60k. This is why such a small country can quench all our needs for used JDM motors. We're heading down the same road, as NOx will become a big player in future smog, and carbon build up will increase NOx very easily. And there's alot ford could do to lighten the stang from factory. The EVO 9 is practically all aluminium. It's roof, fenders, trunk, hood, and bumpers are all aluminium. CF parts won't save you much weight over aluminium and mistu's choice is very cost effective. The rims on the EVO are amazingly light as is, perfectly suitible for racing. The seats aren'y much heavier than even the lightest race seats, but they use tracks wich add weight. All thier interior piece are fairly light and are mostly there for sound deadening. So why doesn't ford do any of this. I think most of us here have hit the nail on the head.... the consumers...

I just had a revelation. I know our problem with the mustang (if you're a purist of any company skip this post) Chevy... Where's this elusive car that's supposed to compete with the mustang? The vette? Ok, so ford has to produce a specialty model that doubles the price of the base stang to get into the same price range. Not really same leage IMO. Chevy used to make a half decent car called a camero. It had a good motor, but suffered from poor suspension and looks that didn't appeal to many guys wanting an agressive muscle look. The new GTO is a joke. I'm sorry. I saw a guy who was 50+ driving one and I said to myself "that's exactly who should be buying them, these old guys that defend the new gto so much." It's a great car, but i looks worse than the new STI. It's FAR worse, because it doesn't even attempt to look like a muscle car. And dodge? HAHAHAHA. It's taken THIS LONG for dodge to make a charger, just to make it a 4 door?!??!?!?!?! Where's the dodge from the 60's? Making a million different cars off the few basic platforms they had. So while ford's been playing "own the market" over here in japan there's been fierce competition by MANY companies in a SMALL country in wich many LESS percentile of the population own cars than the US. Subrau and Mitsu both looked at the rally as a good outlet for race sponsoring, since none of the other jap companies seemed interested in that market. And they've been at the same battle for well over 10 years now, any they've both made revisions to ther cars often, leaving them today with some of the most advanced cars you can get your hands on for thier price. They've been battling so hard they've started to compete with other big jap names wich took everyone by surprise. They've made the skyline's AWD system look like a joke at it's price, and they've made the weight of the 2 seater NSX look heavy. The new EVO 9 is practically all aluminium and where is out domestic muscle race? Stuck in the freaggin' gutter. Where's the competition? NASCAR is a joke. The tech in those cars effects street cars less than F1 tech. Rally racing is real. The improvements are real, this is why it's worked for subaru and mitsu. Ford, Chevy, and Dodge need to get some competition going in wich stock chassis are used and stock blocks/heads are used. If people started watching, we migh actually see a real car revolution to rival the late 60's. The second main factor in my opinion as to why cars suck nowdays? Regulations... We're so stinkin' PC nowdays we're more concerned about how enviorment friendly our cars than renovating "dinosar" factories that by car definitions are "gross poluters" and should be updated with modern equipment. Society is dumb. Cars are one of the only pollution factors we come in contact with so that's the only one we care about, thus car guys suffer at the mercy of politicians trying to get a little more poll. In closing, go ahead, blame ford, but I got a million reasons why we can blame other people as well. (sorry for that rant/rave, but it had to be done. These are my true opinions about why modern muscle cars suck)

LFS has the best physics of any racing game i've played. Absolutely awsome. And i find GT4 physics much closer to LFS than GT3 pysics. To be more blunt I dissagree with l28et. GT4 might not of fixed the low speed turning radius problem that GT3 had and even made it a little worse, but only beucase of limiting factors of the physics engine. GT4 has much more realistic tire grip that's much less forgiving of throttle ussage. The game is much more dynamic in the fact that unskilled players run MUCH slower than skilled players, unlike GT3 where anyone who understands proper line can be fast. GT4 has a much steeper learning curve wich in the end is better because it's a whole different level for the GT games. But GT4 is still very unperfect. Brakes are still very unrealistic and have much more force than accelleration, becuase it's viewed as a "speed divider" and remotely effects traction, opposed to being purely just a reverse tracion aplication. Brakes are only liniar if you've got them set WAY high, otherwise flooring it will never lock the tires. Brakes could use alot of work. Car selection is insane, but they don't have individual car backround like in GT3, just brief company over views. But my BIGGEST beef with GT4? Tire wear!!!!!!!! How come it's impossible to get even the hardest compound tires to last more than 20 laps anywhere? TOTALLY unrealistic. I have other beefs though. If anyone here ever played motor city online you know the kind of system I want for racing games. I want to choose what intake manifold I use, I want to choose my injector size, I want to choose my crankshaft material and weight, I want to choose what lift/duration cam I want to use for intake/exhast, I want to choose what compression I want my pistons to run, thus effecting motor wear/stability. How come such an old game can be so much better in this area? Becuase polyphony digital is out to make money. I'm sorry to break it to you guys, but they're not REAL car guys. They're posers that are first most about making money. Yes they know lots about cars, but they care much more about making the game "appealing to all" instead of what a racing game should be. What's my number one liked thing about GT4??? The RING!!! I almost peed my pants when I found out the nurbrugring would be in GT4! And it's amazing how accurate it is in the game. You can get a PS2 for around $110 with a game included (gamestop price) and then you can get GT3 for like $7 used. I'd do that, and once you beat GT3 go for GT4. If you can't afford that, then go for LFS. If you can get past the crappy graphics it'll be worth your while. You're kinda stuck though. You said you don't like single player games much, but you won't have internet, wich sucks. If I was in your shoes, I'd bust out my old school consoles and start reliving the golden years of my youth. I'd play some (NES games) ze;da, super mario bros, karate, ridge racer, Pro AM, (SNES games) super mario world, street fighter 2 turbo, street fighter alpha 2, super street fighter, off road, zelda: a link to the past, maybe even some super mario bros: lost levels (N64) super mario 64, zelda: ocarina of time, world driver championship (best racer of the era by FAR), winback, star fox, (genesis) sonic, sonic 2, sonic 3. I could go on, but why? Have you ever played any of the sims games? If you can get into that kinda god game the sims 2 is horrible addiction. It could suck away years of your life without you realising it. What systems DO you own? If you had any of the new consoles I could recomend some good budget games that are worth every penny.

At first I was looking at the pic thinking "that doesn't look too bad" but then I scrolled down to the bottom of the pic and I saw the entry wound at the bottom... As a guitar player, bowler, golfer my hands are vital. I can't imagine not being able to use them. I play lots of video games, but I've never had anxiety about not being able to play video games because of hand injury. Maybe I SHOULD worry... I'm sorry man. Looks like it hurt a crap load to say the least.

This was my biggest fear when the new stangs hit production. All previous performance stangs have hovered around the 3k mark, with the last gen 03 04 cobras under 3500. But those 03 cobras were designed to be confortable also. Now, the 01 cobra R, THAT was a light car. Didn't even come with a standard radio. Still the best autox stang ever built. But, I think what's wrong with this new GT500 is all in the name. I think if SVT was designing a cobra it would be a different story. Maybe SVT is just sabotaging the GT500, so thier new cobra 2-3 years from now will destroy the GT500. Just specualtion though. Now seriously, who has sat in the new mustang? Who was actually cofortable? Now how tall are you? Cuz I'm just under 6' and I felt too tall for the vehicle. The shifter placement is was too close (ford trying to satisfy the mustangs pain complaint by asian reviews "shifters too far away") the steering wheel doesn't have much adjustment. The whole car just didn't fit me. And honestly, ford needs to take out the back seats in any performance model, those darn things are just there for looks and we all know it. I still suspect to see much better to come from SVT with the next stang to wear thier badge. But they'll have to do some work to the seat to make me happy. End note: So when's the next stang body style coming out? One that I can actually fit in... (does that add up? A 4000lb vehicle I can't fit in?)

Well, if it's england, it COLD AND WET. I can't emphasize the COLD part, or WET part enough. I was there in febuary and I wouldn't go back in winter, that's for dang sure.

Well, the integra type R was redlined at 9k from factory but I've taken stock motors to 11 ... It's actually really fun , but I bet they can't take that abuse for long. My theory is always that if a motor can widthstand 10-11k it can take 8k all day long, wich is why I don't like racing V8s, because I always feel like I'm wearing the engine too much. But I guess physics dictates that the higher the revs the more the wear, but I guess there's always exeptions to that. I think honda motors are the highest reving 4 banger right out of the box, but the only good one that comes in RWD is the F20C. A B18 or B16 would be killer, but no RWD application. I'd venture to say you could get most 4 cylinders to rev to 11k with a little work. Some motors will require custom pistons for strength, but it would be wise to go with as light as interals as possible. The lighter the rotating mass the easier it will want to rev. Custom pistons (forged) can be much lighter and stronger than stock pistons, so it's worth the money. If you start with a motor that doesn't have rockers then to get rid of some headache there to begine with. Otherwise most motor's rocker setup will need to be upgraded to widthstand high RPM. But on most motors carful attention to cam and valve springs must be taken. And rotory motors... Well, I don't call them "high rev" motors. If you're running on at 12k then the rotors are only moving at 1/3 speed of that (4k), whereas in a 4 cylinder going 12k the pistons is actually reciprocating every RPM. Pistons move much faster, period. But that doesn't mean they're bad motors, that's a different discussion entirely. I've seen NA RB25 motors with ITB setups and they're pretty insane. Still not the greatest RB setup but a well built motor is still to be feared. A 4AGE setup might not yield much HP, but you havn't specified how much power you're looking for. Using a bike motor might be nice, but I'd worry about the tranny. You couldn't pay me to use a bike tranny becuase they're not designed, rated, or tested to be used in a car. Much more weight being pushed = More stress on the tranny. You'd have to mate it to a diffferent tranny for sure. But some of them like the busa, are capable of insane power, and rev like no motor you'll ever see in a production car. In the end I think the F20C would be the :key word: easiest :key word: motor to use. It revs high from factory, it's RWD (with a great 6 speed), and it's one of the highest HP/per liter motors on production cars (NA that is). And ON3GO is looking at doing the swap himself, so you two could help eachother out.

so, if it really when a whole quarter mile (the second one) then that was one FAST quarter mile. I'd even say that's the fastest any production vehicle has flown the quarter mile. -
Well...... ...nice to know these pants aren't stain proof Sounds like a monster. That sound emitting from my car might make me forget a long length of time as well

Ok, so we've determined ferrari needs better comercials...

Darn, if only I was born a cute girl... ...with a passion for cars, guitars, music, computers, and hacking... On second though, I think I'll be happy with my current persona. Good job on the case bastaad! -
We should do a wild cat canyon run!!! I'd don't car if my car's a pos, i'll still enjoy the drive So do you know you're arrival and departure dates yet? Maybe by april I'll have found a fender so I won't feel so ghetto.

Looks like quite a turn around for that car. Looks awsome so far man! I feel like I shouldn't complain about our winters anymore. It got down to 34F last night!!! Lucky us we have a wood stove and cut down a tree last summer I stays toasty. I can't even imagine working outside in out winters though. Heated space is a must.

So correct me if I'm wrong, the RB25 and the RB20 use the same mounts correct? Or at least have the same mount setup on the block? I know there was a guy who did a RB25 in a ZX so i'm gonna go search for his posts again.

go to imageshack.us and upload the pics one by one. Everytime you upload a pic copy and past the first thumbnail link into a post here. http://imageshack.us/

Man, this really makes me consider a RB in my ZX again. ONLY problem is that i'd be swapping motors every other year for smog. But it's really that easy of a swap I guess I wouldn't mind. After a couple of swaps I bet I could get the whole process down to a weekend. A long time ago (mid-90's, I was much younger then, so it was a long time ago for me) I used to help my friend work on his del sol. We got to the point to where we were able to pull the motor out and rebuild it in just a couple hours, all with just hand tools and a jack. I bet you could reduce this swap to quick and easy steps. Most the work should lie in the wiring. So z_cars_rule, if I have only one request, it's to know what you're going to do about ECU placement and guage conversion/placement.

It's not rice if it's functional ...now to make symbols functional... ........this could take me a while. Again though, thanks for the inspiration. I seem to get alot of that from this site. I'll post pics if I photoshop anything up.

If you know the VIN number you can get the car checked out at the DMV. They're puplic records but you have to pay a fee for them. I'm not sure if any DMV can do cross state checking though.
