  1. You might try a small column of clay or playdough about 4" or 5" long. Put it on the front of the carb/ air cleaner flsnge pointing up. Close hood fully but softly. Open hood and measure the unsmashed clay and there is your clearance. Good luck.
  2. The "headers or bumpers" are a bit small. LOL!!!!!
  3. Hanns, Congrats on getting the Z in the magazine. Next will be HotRod, CarCraft, PHR, TIME, etc.
  4. I found this Z on craigslist for sale in Wheatridge, Co. which is local to me. http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/823744022.html I know some of you may remember this Z for sale on ebay a while back. I don't know the guy selling it, I just thought it to be very interesting. Also check this link http://www.veggiecar1.com
  5. I used to work at Pep Boys and we had the dye in the service dept. You can try asking the service guys about it. I know I sold a few vials of the dye. The dye was inexspensive IIRC. Good luck. An ordinary black light bulb should work for tracing the leak. Easy to find come Halloween.
  6. That looks like a very nice Z. Are you going to swap the drivetrain from the wrecked Z? I hope that you will, that is a great Z for the swap. Good luck!
  7. Hey Guys, We moved here (Denver) from Houma, La. in November of 2003. The wife And I still have family there, but thankfully they have all evacuted. Only my baby sister has to stay in Houma, as she is a state trooper. I am hoping that those of you who are staying for the storm will be ok. I also hope that none of you have any property damage. Good luck and take care guys, Jason, jbk240z
  8. A very gorgeous Z! The paint must be a mile deep.
  9. Try http://www.wilcap.com They can make all sorts of adapters. Good luck.
  10. Oh yeah! This puts the 350Z to shame IMO. I am liking it alot.
  11. I just hope the previous installer didn't use loctite on the headbolts. I worked on an old Toyota 4cyl. once long ago, yes the guy used loctite on the headbolts and wondered why they wouldn't come off easily! LOL!
  12. Make sure that you have all the bolts out of the heads before you pry or use the torch. On the SBC engines, there is often an overlooked bolt or two hidden deep under oil & sludge. There are 17 bolts per head. Good luck.
  13. Unfortunately the Z lost to a Camaro.
  14. IMHO, lambo doors on a Z define the word hideous! Repairing your stock doors would be a 1000 times easier. I could be forced to say Rosanne Barr is hot, before I would ruin a Z with those doors! LOL!
  15. Well, when I was age 10 or so, the mighty wasp left his mark on me. I was just trying to suprise my Dad by cutting the grass before he got home from work. I was almost finished, cutting some grass under a tree. The wasp got me about 3/4 of an inch below my right eye. OUCH!!! The result was my eye swollen shut for about a day and a half.
  16. Yes, I know that it is technically a Yamaha enigne, but it was installed and sold as a ford. I find the engine interesting no matter who actually produced it. How would one ask for a replacement at an engine shop, "yeah, I need a ford sho engine assembly" or " I need a yamaha sho engine assembly".
  17. I am sorry to hear the very sad news. My condolences to you and your family.
  18. YES! The more pics the better! I am not a big fan of ford engines, but the SHO motor is very interesting!
  19. If there is such a thing as engine porn, this certainly qualifies! Awesome indeed!
  20. Great links, thanks for posting Grumpy!!
  21. Yeah, but sometimes "stupid" can be used to the "advantage"!
  22. All she needs is a good bore & stroke! Personally, If I were not married with children, I would tap that a** or bumper!
  23. That is hilarious!!! You know he isn't getting "any".
  24. What is up with BigPhil? His posts/videos are great, although he could use a V8!
