  1. I agree %100... This day and age the welding techonlogy is awesome.
  2. There is no easy answer to tire selections. I wish there was. Make an offset flat board template. Search tire specs according to different rim widths. Mine are small but fit well for adjustments. 17x7 4.75 or 4.25 bs I think. There are many options.....Get creative. Good luck,
  3. Had my 327 for 3 years now 6500 rpms no problem. Small engine lower torque but saves the rear end. Low piston speeds too. A bigger motor is always better. Smaller motors tend to last longer. For me loppy cams and higher rpms are fun. On the other hand a big motor with torque down low is better for the street and quicker. Get the biggest one you can!
  4. Not to step on any toes here but who is david vizard .... Messing around with old lifters period sounds like a very bad idea. Maybe a Pro builder could pull it off but.....The motors out already. Easy to just freshen up the cam and have that insurance. You can pick your powerband too somewhat.
  5. Wow a TT Z car! Im jealous! Nice work!
  6. A cylinder compression check. The leak down method. Used in the aircraft industry during annual inspections for checking for broken rings. A cylinder should hold pressure for a determined amount of time. I dont know the specs you need but that is the basic idea. Either way if all cylinders have the same leak down charactaristics I would say you are good to go.
  7. I did the same thing. Dual mufflers. 12 gal fuel cell.
  8. WOW! ...That is a Killer swap! Nice Work Sergio!
  9. Arizona ZCar also has an upgrade for the fronts which is another 750. 13 rotors and 6 piston wilwood calipers. With the 12.2 / 4 piston rears that would be a great package too. Again no true parking brake but the price to performance factor looks great. After spending so much time sweat and money building a car... I would not trust a parking brake anyways.
  10. It almost looks 2 good 2 be true.... But man what nice work. Love it. ....I mean even if it could make torque...How could that tiny crankshaft journal hold the power of serious race tires combined with the weight of even the lightest 240z chassis? Hmmm just a thought.

    06 vette

I picked up a new 06 vette today. 400hp LS2 6spd. The thing is so sweet. Hard to say if it is faster than the Z but man the handling and delivery is down right awesome. Yeee hawww!
  12. Sweet car! I love that engine detail. For just under 10 grand that is a ton of automotive performance and stuff to play with. There is something so neat about a little car with a big car sound.
  13. Opps sorry about that. Here we go. The rears. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=58
  14. These look really sweet too! I would love to have this kit on my Z. Modern Motorsports 13' Xtreme Z front and rears. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=55
  15. Killer ... Sweet.... Looks like a Givr' I just saw that car on ebay last week too. It's really cool to see it here on HybridZ! Yee Haw!
  16. Ok I am stupid and not dogging anyones creative ideas.... But is not the point of the 2nd gen sbc is to take advantage of the injection/ignition systems? I can see with a carb and aluminum motor the extreme light weight and simplicity is good. I guess my point is I cant see a carb making more power than MPFI. Also it seems the FI system fits very well under the Z hood. Also willing to bet the FI is lighter than a carb intake combo. If you dont get the jets just right... I could see loosing a lot more power. I.E. tempreture/pressure changes too. For sure you will loose that great throttle respeonce and smooth running even power band. On the other hand I could see how the wiring issues can be a nightmare and ugly looking. If I had on LS1 or LS7(505hp ZO6) for that matter I would keep the FI system. Just my 2 cents worth. It will neat to see how things work out with your swap. Either way its all good.
  17. I have old stang that did the same thing. It was acc pump.
  18. T-56. Yea mine the sycs are just about wasted. I can here them whin/roar at times. Not looking forward that repair bill....
  19. Wow! Now that Z looks scary FAST!
  20. Thanks cameron! I will check that out.
  21. Phantom I hear ya. im 5,11 170 lbs 33 waist. The z is a bit narrow of a car. Everytime I get in it, its always smaller inside than I think.
  22. When I bought my car it didnt have the stock seats. I would have gone that route. All said and done the cost and time would be about the same. I dont want to upset the thread so I'll just ramble a bit here. I hope thats ok. Thanks again everyone. This whole seat/cage or rollbar issue is hard for me to define. Where to take the car.... This is a big step in what the car becomes.... If go with 4 point harness seats and belts in the event of a roll over with no upper cage my head and neck would be crushed, maybe even with a 4 point roll bar. So when I see cars with racing harnesses and no cage it looks a stupid idea to me. This is a street car but track time at BIR is my dream someday. My gfather raced an open cockpit birdcage mazzarati in the 60's. Rolled it end over end at Elkhart Lake WI and he lived. The only reason he did was because he got his head down and had a grab bar mounted on the pass floor. In a 4 point harness he would have been dead. To cage or not to cage that is question.
