  1. I didn't weld on any collars. If you leave enough of the stock lower perch on the strut tube the coilover sleeve can rest on that instead of a collar.
  2. I added my vehicle, but the edit feature doesn't seem to work properly. I can log on to make a change, but when I try to change my effective offsets it doesn't save the new info.
  3. Sorry to hear about your transmission problem. You probably can pull the transmission without the engine, but it may not be any easier. either way, good luck.
  4. I had to remove my end link spacers completely, but it seems to work fine with no binding even while autocrossing. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=125185
  5. I think the post by Challenger shows that 17X9 -13 will not work without fender flares. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that you couldn't get 17x9 to fit with the proper offset and a little bit of work. The 17x9 -13's were meant for people that wanted flares and didn't want coilovers, so there probably quite a bit of room on the inner sides.
  6. The Euro Tail lights look great. I'd run them too, but they're soooo expensive. From your pic it looks like you don't have the rubber hood bumpers. Are you going to install them? I think they help the hood sit better (centered properly and less movement).
  7. The carbon fiber hatch weighs about 9.5 lbs, but the stock glass weigh's much more than that. If you really want light weight get a cf hatch and a lexan rear window.
  8. So I thought I was pretty much finished, but I pulled my Z out into direct sunlight for some pictures - and it needs to be polished out more. You can see it pretty easily in some of the pictures, and I could see it even more in person. Oh well, I'll get it right eventually.
  9. I think it looks much better with the bumpers. The front bumper splits the grille and makes it look smaller and fills the indents between the fenders and the front air dam. It looks more finished and aerodynamic. Like you said, now you just need to get the front fenders paint to match.
  10. I bought an 84 Rabbit GTI when it was new, and that was/is a cool car. I think the Rabbit probably did start the 'hot hatch trend in the US'.
  11. I get Motor Trend and was happy to see first generation Z's listed as one of the '60 Coolest Cars'. The Hudson is a cool car as well, and was very revolutionary for it's time. It's gotten some attention fairly recently since 'Doc Hudson' was featured in the Disney Pixar 'Cars' movie.
  12. Coilovers are the way to go. This will give you the adjustability you need to get the ride height your after. An added benefit is that coilovers will give you a little more clearance for larger wheels and will allow you to easily change spring rates and lengths when the need arises. You get these benefits because coilovers uses the standard 2.5" I.D. springs.
  13. Looking good Clive! You posted earlier that you want to bring the rear end down, but I'm wondering how you can bring the rear end down and not have the tires break through the flares when the suspension compresses?
  14. I ordered the carbon fiber tail light panel from MSA yesterday, but it looks like it's going to be a couple weeks before I get it. Hoepfully everything else will be done before it gets here.
  15. Techno Toy tuning has adaptors: http://www.technotoytuning.com/productdetail.php?p=705 I'm running them on my car now.
  16. Congrat's on the magazine article. Are you really trying to sell her? I found the listing on Dupont - but the asking price surprised me.
  17. Man Jody is a very helpful guy. He was a big help with issues on my LT1 as well. Hope everything works out well for you now gvincent.
  18. I installed the classic rear skirt on my car and the fit was pretty good. Hopefully having the bumper detail won't make it too difficult. I did wind up putting some work into mine so that it worked with my dual exhaust, and it worked out great.
  19. Bryan, your's coming out great helped convince me to make the top black. I wavered a few times and wasn't sure if I wanted the silver fade, the black top or both - but I'm happy with the result. Just recently I was going to try and sell the carbon fiber hood and not go with the black top, but I really like the hood and then I was able to include the carbon fiber hatch as well. Horatio, I think that however good a faux carbon fiber paint job might look - it probably wouldn't look good next to real carbon fiber. The carbon fiber parts look different based on viewing angle and lighting conditions, and the pattern generally only shows on the foremost areas when your looking at the car. You can see in some of the pictures I posted of the front of the car, that the back part of the hood looks almost identical to the top of the fenders.
