thats why I was trying to see if any one knew sizing... thats almost the same intake I've found with the exception that THIS one has rectangle ports, the one on the jeep that I have accsess to has round ports.

I've seen the arizona setup. I was asking if anyone knew if the Offy jeep intake would work cause I can get it for free or almost free I just gotta haul a parts jeep over here, and was hoping someone could tell me before I went through the troubles. also how cool would it be to have an Offy intake on a Z?

I was messing around with ideas on building a carbed engine for my '79 project. when I stumbled upon an Offenhauser intake for the old AMC/jeep I-6 engines and noticed the similarity in shape. does anyone know if the runners will line up? or how close in size they would be? I ran a search but came up negative.

the last one on the list is the closest to the whale tail most the racecars used (as well as the 280ZXR) so I'd say its the best off that basis

somewhere in my box of stuff I've got a picture of a completely chromed 77 Pinto on a bronco chassis and big ole tires... I'll have to find it and post it up... I personally have thought about the chrome paint but candy blue over top of it giving it an anodized effect... then looked at how $$$ that would be and kinda dismissed the idea

yea I knew they made molds for the body panels as I've seen a black vette and a yellow vette with the same kit at carshows. also if you google image for Corvette Summer you'll find the panels in plain white glass. as for the vette its possible it did make it to AU.. wouldn't surprise me

probably not really the right thread for this but I figured someone might like to know about it... around 4:30 this afternoon a rather fancy truck with enclosed trailer pulled into the tirestore I work at here in Louisville on the trailer was "Alex's Movie Cars" they where having new tires installed on a celeb car that had been sold.. watching them unload the car from the trailer I see a bright red with oddly patterned orange flames and turbine wheels with sidepipes on a 73 240Z... immediatly I recognized the car but couldnt think of where from, while mounting the tires my co- worker walks up and jokingly asks "why are you working on it... ITS A DATSUN!"... that line made it click... CORVETTE SUMMER! ( the "Hot Rod" in the casino) after we finished the job I talked to the truck driver and the car has been sold to some rock star for the staggering price of $46,000 wasn't able to find anything elese special other than the y-pipe into the sidepipes and the fact that the car has 8500mi on the odo... yea I know long post but I felt I needed to inform the world the car is still out there... if I had my phone on me I'da nabbed some pics... the truck driver said he'd e-mail me some but I'm not holding my breath.

ok so u proved me WAY wrong and that wing works very well with that desighn... your also getting VERY good at the whole sketching thing... I'm not doin as well but I try... as soon as I get my scanner hooked up I'll post up what I've got too..

I admire the fact of planning for all this work to be done especially to the less popular S-130s, but is there really a need for bigger brakes on them? or is it just an automatic part along with your intended 5 lug swap? or are you anticipating adding alot more weight through your engine swap?... I'm just curious, don't mean to upset ya or anything... but of everything we've owned the S-130 will out brake the rest by far.

IMO the JGTC wing would look very ricy on the car based on the shape of the hatch... the BRE style however is SWEET just my 2 bits honestly I'd use the ZXR style whale tail thats in your sig image... on another note if your ever interested in selling that same whale tail please let me know... I'm looking for another

great minds think alike... I'm tryin to find a couple more decent bodied ZXs and paint one as Prowl and another as Silverstreak/bluestreak... maybe even find someone to help work on/ drive them @ autoX's and shows

get your mold made, build a glass one and let me knowhow much you want for a glass version... I'm modding a ZX aswell (NOT the ZXR) but I intend on replicating the old SMOKESCREEN transformer (with all the logos and everything) wich was based off the Bob Sharp cars... however the action figure had a slightly larger airdam... and urs would be perfect.

I was going to do something similar to the red one with a '79 2+2 (yes I said 2+2) but I wasn't going to carry the tunnel that far back... just the length of the rear seats... and the tunnle section was going to be 2 peice removable so you could pull it off and put it in the newly formed trunk and have a 4 seated roadster (cramped but still 4 seats) the donor I had was too far gone in the Rust War though... I'd still like to try it if anyone knows of a S-130 2+2 in decent shape and good price, pref. 5 spd running, not , I don't care.

recently accuired a '79 280ZX with an 82 turbo motor in it... this is the first turbo vehicle I've had any expirience with... after some tweeking I got the car to start and run great when it gets to the point where the turbo would spool it would make a very loud low pitch squeal for a couple seconds then stoped untill I shut it down and re-started it, after awile the sound stoped completely, then I did an oil change and used Halvoline 10w-40 wich is what I've used in my other 2 '79s for yrs. now when the turbo starts to spool it smokes BADLY and u can smell the oil, when the turbo isn't spooling it doesn't smoke... Do I need to use a different oil or have I had a seal go bad coincidential to my oil change?

ya EvilDky is running an S-13 5spd only had to shorten the driveshaft to put it in his '71 I would imagine an s-15s 6speed would have more useable ratios but I could be wrong.... guess I'll do more research.

the purpose is mixed, partially because I'm about to add a t3/t4 hybrid to a combination that already makes 172whp in a full time track car therefore I was hoping it would be advantageous to have a six speed trans. the other reason would simply be JUST to have a six speed in a 280ZX just as a custom thing that almost no one has done... paul, I'm actually in Nashville for shcool (nashville Auto Diesel college) but I live over in the Highveiw area off smyrna Rd. I hit the search and it brought up nothing, my question is if anyone knows of a 6 speed transmission that will bolt up to an L28 or can be realitivly easily modified (swapping bellhousing ect) to fit the L28? I had thoughts of looking into skyline drivetrains considering they are still inline 6cyls but wasn't sure if it's a 6 spd or not or if it'd bolt up... Thanks in advance.

well a REAL rubber ZXR wing would be worth around $150-$200... unfortunatly there are no more brand new ones... Nissan discontinued the wing earlier this year and I managed to get the last one they had in their wharehouse... for the record I do have an actuall ZXR that is in the restoration phases (however they are taking place slowly due to college and it's the only vehicle I have that gets better than 9mpg) mine can be seen here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/682335 and if you happen to have an actuall rubber wing and are interested in selling I know several people that would be interested.

EvilDky is running only the center mirror on his 240ZT, to my knowledge he hasn't been confronted about it, but he rarely drives it on the road, as it is primarilary an Auto X car trailerd to events.

yes Chewie that would be the verysame car I've seen... I'd bet someone elese had done it too but that's where I'd seen it.

Hmmmm I bet my ZXR would look sweet with that front bumper.... anyway I like the idea and have too thought of basically building a ZXTT and using the ZXR scheme but ZXTT in the logo... so I obviously like that idea... the HUGE ZXR door logo looks rice-ish to me but atleast you got the logo correctly drawn the large ZX in the quarter looks nice tho, I've seen it on one of the IMSA cars (not electromotive)
