  1. Looks like 2800 pounds, that's like what about 6K US? Not bad, get a z, makes a nice family car!
  2. I'd prefer to see a victor Jr., you'd be suprised at how good they work with that combo! I'd bet Grumpy would agree there.
  3. I've had MSD boxes for 5 years now, 2-MSD7AL2's and one 6BTM. The 6 died and now I have 2 since I bought a new one and sent the old one in to fix for $30. MSD works when they work, buy two, keep one as a spare, send in the fried one when it lets go, it's $30 to fix.
  4. That's why our cars run and yours doesn't. :lmao:
  5. One thing that cam companies forget is that stroke swallows up lumpy cams for lunch and spits out a mild exhaust tone and gobs of power. That cam that grumpy says looks like alot on paper but IMO would be perfect. I ran a solid lifter crower 246 @ .050 and .510 lift with 110 lobe centers in my personal vehicles and it was a monster. I've found that 1.6's on the intakes and 1.5's on the exhaust have enhanced mid range TQ on some combinations.
  6. 7. Well, If I were you I'd drill the bolt on center after getting a good center punch hole to start with. Then I'd smack it a couple of good raps with a 3lb sledge. Then I'd heat it with a propane torch and melt some wax into the threads. Should screw out relatively easily. If not well, at least you tried.
  8. Yup, same here! She sent me an email over hybridz related stuff which I answered. After that I banned her. Her email is evie85@comcast.net
  9. Same scammer, same old tricks, Biitch! Evie Bornman sucks
  10. Ruh Roh, you got deer back there?
  11. No biggie, you wanted a new motor anyway, this is a good reason to blame it on an accident. Pretty shrewd I'd say, since you need to get approval for the new build!
  12. Hunt jr and I are going to Houston on the 21st through the 24th for............. You guessed it. Hunting pigs and deer/fishing in the Gulf. We'll be in Spring TX.
  13. Love the avatar v80z! I say go cubes, you need more inches!
  14. I've made 630HP NA on alky with the sportsman II heads, pretty good choice IMO for what you have. Should work well on a stroker 383. They don't flow alot over .550 lift, so IMO keep the lift reasonable.
  15. And you guys thought I was a dirty old man!
  16. Gee and all this time I though it was a soft launch unless the front wheels came off the ground. :rolleyesg
  17. Interesting There are three fuel circuits there, idle, low speed and high speed. You need to work on the high speed. Absolutely imperative that you make sure you have adequate fuel pressure at WOT, you'll need/want 7 to 8 psi at WOT IMO. Make sure the fuel bowls are set correctly, it may be just that your fuel bowl level is dropping and leaning it out!!!! Fuel delivery depends on signal, a 355 on an 830 carb isn't going to have alot of signal. Contrary to popular belief a large carb on a small motor tends to run lean due to low signal, requiring larger jets not smaller. IMO I'd work on the fuel pressure issue FIRST! Making sure you have adequate fuel delivery is easier than messing with air bleeds and jets, when in the end, if it's a fuel delivery problem, you'll be starting from zero again!!! Well, not zero but you may find changing all those air bleeds and jets has no effect. First you need to size the pump to the HP output of the engine, I don't know what the carter puts out, but your probably pretty close if line sizes are correct for that flow. Then you need to measure the fuel pressure under running (dynamic) conditions, so you can see if there is a problem with fuel pressure. IMO, if everything is OK, then start messing with the carb! People take note that on a pretty mild motor it's running pretty good with an 830 carb. Just when you thought it'd drown it. And for the people saying your not running it hard enough, you run it where it makes power! I shift at 6000 and trap at 6500...
  18. Well, my dad was into mining back in the early uranium days, then he switched to copper and finally ended up here in the 50's. Basically I've been doing this kind of thing my whole life as a kid and recently since my dad passed in '02. I'm a registered professional engineer with over 15 years of experience, which means nothing, but I like doing that better than what I normally do. I still get to do some here and there, so it's all good.
  19. Looks like you need more pump shot and smaller high speed air bleeds IMO.
  20. Well, I work outside, which is my home here on 4000 acres in White Oaks, I also have a house in Socorro. I have varied tasks, drilling, blasting, running heavy equipment like excavators, loaders, dump trucks, graders, etc, I run a rock crushing plant and I have a wet washing plant, I weld, cut, fabricate, mechanic, fix tires, change oil, filters, pump water, drive trucks to deliver material and screw off when I feel like it. I typically don't have any employees because this work is so technically related that most people I find can't do it. But it pays the bills, allows for hot rods, is alot of headaches, back aches, muscle aches and an occassional big grin Oh, and I'm in hock for $300K.
  21. Ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh, don't tell SuperDan, cause then he'll never go to work!
  22. Actually, they'd probably use a sonic tester to check the thickness of the other cylinder walls. Only the better shops would have such a tool, kind of pricey.
