  3. Grump, if your successfull, post an before/after photo in the wife/gf thread.
  4. The LS series is getting more and more common. The old skool, cough cough, is probably the one that has the most plentiful parts selection and is relatively cheap. There's a few others as well, but by far the old skool sbc is probaby your best bet for being your first time.
  5. I don't know about a universal scatter shield. What motor and trans? Stock L series and trans, I don't know. V8 and manual trans, yes, there are several. And the cludtch won't become part of your face, you just won't have any feet.
  6. Well, I made my own mounts so my installation doesn't have the inherent problems that have been encountered with jtr or msa or whatever, probably because the engine sits alittle higher, but I did the mounts with the headers on and then yanked the engine to weld it all. 1-5/8 may be fine for most mild motors, but it's been proven and well documented that big tubes, and as grump said, the "right collector" make gains especially in big motors and/or high rpm. IMO Don't plan on running 9's with small tube block huggers. IMO if your running 400 or more cubes and/or 7000 or more rpm, the 1-7/8 or larger are best suited. For that reason I'm going to build my son a set of 2 inch primary long tubes with a good collector. As far as making another set or sets I can imagine it being rather expensive Mike, but Thaagard does that kind of thing, I'm just not set up to do that. Maybe you should just spend a week and come over, learn to tig weld and make some for yourself.
  7. Well done my friend, well done! :hail: I just got home from the bar, I was the designated driver, had a blast, danced with all kinds of drunk women and listened to all the drunk guys talking about trying to get the drunk women to go home with them. Watched PO'd guys leave their drunk women at the bar cause they were flirting with other guys and visa versa. What a riot! The only drawback was that most of the women don't seem to miss too many meals and most of the rest needed an appointment with Silicone Boy IMO. Oh, and Socorro isn't in the middle of nowhere, it's only 75 miles to somewhere in any direction!!! So there!
  8. Yes, but the situation will never end. I had a guy I know call me yesterday on Thanksgiving wanting me to give him my spare 10 bolt 4wd front end. He must be smoking crack, I told him $300 and he said that was too high. I said well, maybe you can find another one somewhere else then. I'm a generous person, I do alot of things for free, but I have my limits. If someone is really trying to do a project right and in need of help, I'll do what my conscious tells me is ok, otherwise they better get out the checkbook.
  9. IIRC isn't the R1 just a one liter motor in the 600 frame?
  10. Tractor pullers do it all the time. I suggest looking at websites related to pulling.
  11. IMO 100% of the folks here need help in one way or the other, be it knowledge, advice, money, parts source, etc, etc. Money is not the cure all for cars either. There are some with unlimited funds and extensive knowledge that are slower than some with limited funds and not as extensive knowledge.
  12. I'm observant what can I say! Besides he's covertly advertizing the fact that he offers credit! I'll probably never make it big in the advertising agency world, but I think it's kind of catchy. Picture a billboard that says "__________ on credit" "No money down, big benefits, small monthly payments, results you can see" "Be the envy of the town" 1-800-tatas4less!
  13. Typically, those threads are deleted in entirety, not sent to the tool shed. Well, at least that's the way I do it anyway, but my tolerance is low for that kind of stuff. Then after doing that I permanently ban the user and if necessary we ban the IP address as well. Just a heads up for all you folks in cyberland.
  14. Pretend I'm your dad for a minute. STAY THE F#$% OFF THE DAMN BIKES! Good, now that I got that off my chest, why not the new 14 I've been hearing about. Runs low 9's factory stock.
  15. Gee, boobies on credit. I knew there was something I liked about you and your services.
  16. You take life way too serious Mike. I was just messing with you!
  17. Good advice, this isn't really a big deal. If this is the extent that you get screwed in life, take that and then some. Let it go, and DON'T LEAVE ANY FEEDBACK!!! It is such a waste of time to dwell on this any more than you already have IMO.
  18. screw it, go buy a guage, they are about $10 and forget it. Life is not on EBAY, it's um, well, here on hybridz!
  19. They are serving turkey at paint prison. Today is visitation day too
  20. Well, I'm not going to spill the beans, but you notice they haven't seen one lately. Well I did, and that's all I'm going to say.
  21. Do a wikipidia or whatever on the F word, pretty interesting.
  22. Really Mike? Are you smoking crack or are you going to edit that post?
