Once again it is proven that S30 have a special place in people's mind.
I was watching a TV program that compiles interesting videos gathered from around the world. It was playing a cameraman being hit by a rally race car. Instead of saying " the man was hit by a race car", the commentator said "the man was hit by a 280Z". I bet the commentator has/had a S30.

Experts please explain.
I was about to order frame rails(the rails in the engine bay) from Zed Findings but from the photo it looks like the sheet metal is very thin. Has any one used their frame rails before?
I know Bad Dog parts have them as well, but the description says "for 75~78 280Z". The frame rails will go into a 260Z so I dunno if the bad dog ones will fit.
Thanks
You won't scratch anything because you will remove fenders, inspection lids and cowl panel when you put in the motor. What ever lies under those beautifully painted blue body panels should be some sort of ugly, tough coating that is easy to touch up anyway.
I plan to produce a set of titanium piston pins. They will need surface treatment. So far I know two treatments for the ti surface, one being casidium coating, the other being titanium nitride. I know all it takes to nitride titanium is 800 degrees celsius and pure nitrogen, but I am looking for places that will do the nitriding.
Thanks
I want to produce a thread about the internal dimensions of L series pistons.
What I do is I cut them up and post thickness measurement taken in different areas. I will cut each piston twice. The first cut plane is a vertical one right thru the centerline, perpendicular to the wrist pins. The second cut plane is also a vertical one thru the centerline but parallel to the pin bore axis.
I already cut up a L26 piston, I am looking for
L24 piston (unless they are identical to 260Z ones other than bore size)
L28 dished (NA and Turbo, identical other than bore size?)
L28 flat top
Suggestions?
I thought it has been said that popping the hood a little on the S30 will push air into the engine bay at higher speed because the windshield dam up a lot of pressure at the base.
putting hydrogen in the air/fuel mix reduces your power output because hydrogen fuel takes up more space(several thousand times more) than liquid droplet fuel. For each intake stroke, the cylinder can only accept so much volume of mixture. If hydrogen is added to air, there is just less oxygen in each cylinder filling; less oxygen to burn = less power. Hydrocarbon fuel is compact in size and packs much more energy than hydrogen. Hydrogen fuel is said to burn faster though, they will require less advance.
Can someone verify this? I have no idea how the inside of a R200 clutch type LSD looks like. Does the VLSD look like that inside? Does VLSD have the finned cover? What I am looking for is R200 CLSD, NOT R200 VLSD.

Thanks a bunch.
Could it be the pickup? There is a gasket between the pickup tube and the bottom of the block, maybe the pickup tube bolts wiggled loose and air got into the oil line.
Depends on what your "83 L28" is. If it has the turbo head/cam and pistons, plus the turbo distributor & oil pump shaft, then yes, Just add turbo ECU, turbo, and manifolds.
