The battery area has been treated with some Eastwood rust ecapsulator. just need to paint prime and install engine. Yippeeee
  3. As soon as it gets warmer I will be ready to prime and paint the engine bay.
  4. The motor waiting to be dropped into my Z !!!
  5. I am doing the LS1 swap after two years of car shows, racing, reading and researching. You would be amazed at what guys are swapping LSX into, but like VinhZXT stated it is cost, dealing with wires and a pcm. However, Edelbrock has the intake/module/cam set-up to run a carb on a LSX motor and some new stuff coming out in 2007 for LSX and LT engines.
  6. It was running up until Sept. 06. I yanked everything out !!!!! I wanted a V8 could not decide between 1. small block carb motor or LSX motor 2. Automatic, Tremec 5spd or 6spd. --Finally decided !!! I have a LS1/4L60 E in the wroks.
  7. Congratulations Deja !!!! I finally made a choice and not to far behind you, I won a LS1/4l60E on Ebay that will arrive next week. I still plan on using the Twist-machine paddle-shifters and post how all goes. Good Luck on your swap !!!
  8. My dad, uncles and a couple his military budddies created a drag racing team and they called themselves Dudeboy Racing. Check this picture out from Carlsbad, Calif. in 1969. By the way that is my dad driving !!!!!!!

    My dad drag racing.

This is a picture of Dad drag racing in the late sixties, early 70's. He later took the motor out of the Ford sedan and swapped the 460ci motor into a 53 ford pickup.
  10. Jmortensen, As much as I like the IMSA flares, the bubble flares are my favorite. Here is a a pretty neat flare instructional page from the Atlantic Z club. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/body/flaredfenders/index.htm
  11. Pirelli makes a tire that will fit on the rear the size is 345/35 -15 very expensive - Tire rack has them in stock from time to time. Lambhorghini Countach and Pantera owners grab this size quickly if they have not plus size there wheels. Michelin makes 2 tires TB5 and TB15 and you can get these at Coker tire or Longstyre in the UK. They have sizes perfect for 15 x12 and 15 x 10 size wheels, but get ready to empty your wallet !!!! Tire rack has them $491.00 a piece !! P-zero Asimmetrico

    Vette Flares

Vette Flares -what more can be said.
  13. I love my Vette, and I love my Z - But the Detomaso Pantera Group 4 /GT4 is my favorite: Go here http://www.pim.net if you want to drool !!!! A friend who manages a body shop e-mailed me a picture of the black pantera above during the body work process. (He did not take the photo, I did not take the photo)He was working on a Pantera with steel flares instead of the fiberglass ones and received this photo and several others to use as a guide.
  14. The pantera GT4 or Group 4 flares could possibly work on a Z?

    Bob Sharp Garage

Bob Sharp Garage !!! This photo was e-mailed to me a while back( it is not my photo) I do not know if this was the Bob Sharp garage or the Nissan Performace Storage. I do know these cars were up for sale at one time.
  16. Racerx, The IMSA body RX7s' bring back some memories !!!!I wish I had a digital camera 20 years ago. Here is a link to some old school photos enjoy: http://www.racingsportscars.com/photo/Mid-Ohio-1974-06-30-photo.html This was e-mailed to me a while back (My disclosure not my photo); It indicates it is the Bob Sharp Garage, but I also read somewhere Datsun/Nissan Motorsports and BSR were selling these cars a couple of years ago ?
  17. My parents re-located / re-tired to Georgia, and we found a house right around the corner !!!!! With a 3 car detached garage !! Lots of room to work on the Z.

    New home for my Z

My parents re-located to Georgia (right around the corner from me) the house had a 3 car garage and un-finished second floor.
  22. David, Thank you, the wheel selection has been driving me crazy 4-lug or 5-lug, adapters or no adapters and what brakes will fit under what wheels? The Prices are real good for custom fit wheel. I will be contacting Team 3. Thanks,
  23. Happy Birthday Scottie !!! You know my wife was drag racing the C5 at spring SEZ !!!! She supports me 100 %, She let me buy the 280 Z for my birthday about four years ago and she knows I have a thing about cars and particular Datsun Z's and 510s . Scottie, in spring 2007 if all goes as plan the wife wants a Z06 between 2001-2004 Black or Red with a mod red/black interior!! I am kind of scared !!!
  24. I agree hard deceleration is hard on any tranmission (stick or automatic). I am no expert with padddle shifters, I watch and took notes as a corvette buddy of mine installed on his camaro project. It is very slick and in a GM transmission 4L60E and the newer GM transmissions it is plug, play and programming. The great thing about it is you can turn it "on and off " at the flip of a toggle or rocker switch.
