  1. Well I went ahead and did the mod. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I also used the low input since it was simpler. I'm running an automatic tranny so it used a button to mount on the dash, I was going to use JS10 but I guess I had used it before for something else and I couldn't get the solder out of the hole. So instead I used JS4. Are you able to build boost with it?
  2. That's good to know it can be done. I have 2 stock turbos so I'll play with one of those. I like playing around with different setups just to see what happens. Some people call that research and development.
  3. I guess I won't worry about the plugs. The car does run great. I've beat it up pretty good. Driven 80+ miles to the drag strip, made several 1/8 mile runs shifting at 6500 rpm and driven home. Did that about 6 times. I'm really pleased overall but I still want to go faster.
  4. Indeed. Running Megasquirt. I've recently learned that I should be able to build boost with launch control.
  5. Hi again. Running MS2 v3.0 on my 83 280ZX turbo. I want to setup launch control. I'm a bit confused about wiring it up. I see I have two options on input, high and low. Which one should I use? Also a little confused on pin input. I'm using D14 for spark with a single coil. I also have D15 and D16 wired for water injection and TCC lockup though I haven't wired them to the rest of the car. Also using fidle for the fan. Which pin would be best to use for launch control. I've also been thinking about using boost control possibly in the future. Thanks. http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/MS2-Extra_Hardware.htm#launch http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/MS2-Extra_Hardware.htm#ms2options
  6. So a bigger cam would make more sense? I am planning a cam swap. I bought a core to send to Delta just haven't done it yet. Thanks
  7. Ok so resonant tuning is sound waves bouncing toward the intake valve then...where?...and back to the intake valve. What does the sound wave bounce off of to bounce back to the valve? Seems like only certain intake designs will work for this type of tuning.
  8. Free info is the best info...haha...thank you fellow hybridz members who share their knowledge for free... then thank someone else
  9. Ok. This thread is about lagging turbos right? Has anyone added pressurized fresh air to the turbine to mix with unburned fuel to spool the turbo? Like the setup in my photo...
  10. May be blockages in the oil passages. I used to have this problem before I rebuilt my engine. I didn't replace the oil pump or lifters but I haven't had the problem since.
  11. I don't see your datalog. Did it start on the first try? If so you must have really done your homework. Does it run good? Have you driven it? Congrats
  12. I took the stock T3 off my 1983 280ZX turbo a few years ago in favor of a Garrett TC4305 off of a 7.3L Ford diesel. The TC4305 has a .82 turbine housing. Could I open up the stock T3 housing to fit the stage 3 turbine? It wouldn't still be a .63 A/R anymore would it? I'm wanting it to spool at a lower rpm.
  13. If you look on youtube you'll find an SR20 or a 4G63 running in the 6s in the 1/4 mile. I think if you can put 60-80 psi of boost to an engine is just a matter of keeping it together. Oh btw. those are single turbo
  14. Was the engine running in the video or was the starter on? I'd get the distributor set right and change the spark plugs and it may likely run. Once all the fuel on the rings dries the compression should bump up to normal...hopefully
  15. The only reason I can think of for different length plugs is the P90 and P79 have a higher combustion chamber roof. I'd use plugs for 75-76 280z.
  16. You would need a leak down tester to see where the leak is, if any.
  17. The turbo dizzy works well with megasquirt. I'm using one with my 83 turbo. I'm also using an 83 na dizzy in a 83 na with megasquirt which I welded to let ms control spark. Apparently there were a lot of changes that I was unaware of, I apologize for the confusion.
  18. Yes, that's right. It will be easier not to use that distributor
  19. So the turbine wheels are the same size?
  20. It does. Do you have some pics of yours?
  21. Are you saying the cat is ready to ship to this guy and that will fix his problem?
  22. The crank angle sensor is inside the distributor. Your 81 turbo distributor will work. I'm wrong here
