  1. I think that dsalni's color is more of an s14 champagne
  2. dunno yet, havent ventured for more than 5 miles with the Z, but i'll try to make it up there with or without it.
  3. yes you can. jack the car up as high as you can place car on jackstands remove driveshaft unbolt transmission from engine place jack under tranny, put a short stick of 2x4 between the jack and the transmission, and raise it so that the tranny is supported unbolt transmission brace make sure transmission is balanced on the jack tug and pull the transmission off the engine carefully lower transmission. and the search button is in the upper right hand corner of the forum, has a magnifying glass and an open text box.
  4. hahahahhah, amazing that you do it right after we complain about it. and v8, roll your fenders. more tyre on the ground = more traction.
  5. yeah yeah... guess I should have been a bit more clear...
  6. if the same carb is gives you vastly different air values there is a leak in that carb. http://www.redlineweber.com/html/Tech/dcoe_adjustment_layout_typical_i.htm is a good place to start looking when tuning your carbs. and btw double posting is a no-no
  7. as with most things, color opinions differ.... dont paint match the ZGs; a satin black will give a good contrast to your wheels/tyres.
  8. kinda sounds like an issue i was having with my triples for a bit, but i am not running chokes. and since you are in california you really shouldn'a have to either. have you synced your carbs air flow with a synchrometer? not a unisyn, but a synchrometer liek this one... http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/TE/60-9976 if you have, neat. the reason why the engine would give you decent idle when you blip the throttle with your hand may be due to some sticky carb return springs. are you running individual return springs for each throttle arm? I personally have to run 2, on carbs 2 and 3 to make sure that that all of the carbs are returning to dead stop on the throttle return set screws. one way to check to see if they are sticking is to blip the throttle by hand and then push the linkages up to make sure they are seated completely, if the idle drops the linkages need to be adjusted/cleaned. fuel mixture is secondary to making sure that the air entering your engine is equalized, once that is done then you can work on fuel.
  9. no issues at all; I talked with Dsalni about it and mentioned that i needed to cut off a little over an inch of the fender, as well as modify the lip. after i made the cut everything fits great.
  10. turns out that the bolts were all tight and the exhaust leak that i wasn't worried about is coming from where the header pipes join each other... just e-mailed MSA, hopefully i can exchange the one i have for a new one.
  11. the hole was there when i bought the car, I am probably going to cover it up with a sticker as I really don't like bondo. All the rust was removed from that area and I painted over it quite well so I am not worried about rust in that particular area. The float finally came in today! and after the install and letting the car idle for a minute or so no fuel was leaking out of the carb! Issue resolved!! I have a slight exhaust leak, but i probably need just just tighten the nut down a bit further, so I am not worried about that in the slightest. I do, however, have to re-tune my idle as I was fiddling with them quite a bit while i was trying to figure out what was causing the leak; so that will be quite a fun process... since i already have a colortune I am going to use it after I have tuned it by ear to see how close the cylinders are. After that is complete then I will just have to wait to get the set of coilover conversion sleeves that 240zdan is making and install them to the car.
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/88-93-Mercedes-190E-W201-4DR-14-Pcs-Wide-Body-Kits-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem19bb4dcfd7QQitemZ110516621271QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_3132wt_958 quick search
  13. times 12 to the 190e. my mate is actually going to sell his XJ-S (350 v8 swapped) to buy a 190e and throw a sr20 in it. after all how awesome does this look and the 14 piece evo kit goes for about $600
  14. well then why not? buddy clubs are nearly as cheap at diamond racing and a bit lighter if memory serves me correctly. after all a 15mm space is only about .6in, shouldn't be too hard to find one of those. and if you are running with modified struts you wont need the spacer, as the wheel has just a tad over 4.5" backspacing
  15. only problem is that they are 7" wide, and they might look kinda weird on a 240z. but if they are dirt cheap why not?
  16. 2 door 2.5 RS are still going for 5-6k in cali, or that is what I was seeing them for while i was looking for the 240z. 1.6s and 1.8s usually go for nearly the same price, and yeah 1.8s do have a minor power bump, but if you ever mod the engine the 1.8 is far cheaper to get power than the 1.6.
  17. if you HAVE to go rwd, and since you live in so cal, there are tons of sub 3k miatas around, And any extra money can be put into the tune-up. The only thing that I would recommend is that you get the 1.8L, and not the 1.6L; the 1.8s are vastly superior. examples of sub 3k miatas... http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/ctd/1695579190.html http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/1696184003.html http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/1701443731.html http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/1701494501.html I am really close to selling my Fit and getting a miata... but it is really hard to pass up on super storage space and 33mpg.
  18. 91 civic crx hx 50 mpg! not rwd, but super awesome.
  19. swapped the jets and nothing changed. swapped over the float and the leak followed the floats. so it looks like I need to nab myself a new set of floats!
  20. free shell http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/1698852997.html
  21. thanks, and yeah olive drab is the best way to describe it, the can called it "ultra-flat deep forest green" which is a mouth full. and yes those pictures are a bit outdated, the exhaust was rattling too much against the chassis so i had to remove it and spin it a bit, now it is just like yours is; super hidden. The one thing that i dont' like about the MSA's Dynaflow muffler that they sent was a fail-chrome tip.
  22. nah i found em off craigslist for $600 with mikuni mani, rubber mounts, linkage, and spacers; just missing the horns and a couple filters. although technically they only cost me 450 because i sold the SU cores. I am hoping that all the problems are around fuel level, and that all i would have to do would be to swap in a new float
  23. actually it is one of the matching carbs that was giving me the issue lol. As far as equality goes i'll double check tomorrow but i remember them all being 26 floats and 175 needle valves, but I have no way of knowing if the float has been modified. I'll do the level check, and part swap tomorrow and see what happens
