  1. That is certainly a setup I want to see. You have an account here now and you can use this site to host the pics just FYI. Keep us posted!! Davy
  2. Yep. I think you diagnosed your own problem. Good luck!! Davy
  3. Hmmm, that's a pretty god idea. I have the Taurus fan, but I never thought of swapping shrouds...doh! Davy
  4. We'll know if he's really in love if he answers this thread while on his honeymoon Congrats, John. Davy
  5. I think what he means is the Turbo 350 is a 3 speed and will be usable up to a point---the point at which you get out on the freeway and wish you had a 4th gear!! It's a good drag trans, but not as good as the overdrive autos... Davy
  6. That car is sweet for the money!! Great find!! Davy
  7. Black? Looking pretty darn nice! I have been thinking of a eggshell or satin epoxy primer like the Car Craft Camaro and leave it at that, except maybe for some pin stripe flames done in cameleon paint...money hasn't exactly been growing for me... Davy
  8. But it's the AFTER pictures that are truly sweet! Very nice build on a decent platform car. It think it's cool that you found out all that knowledge about the car (what swaps to what). Is the 3.0L all you hoped it would be? Turbo later or no? Nice work!! Davy
  9. I was stuck at home working on my house interior. I wanted to go with Aux, but there was no way... Dan, did you win any prize or anything? I can't remember if this was a judged event or not. Great venue. BTW, your wife is better looking then you Davy
  10. Awesome, thanks!!!! Davy
  11. I think I spelled it correctly... Anyway, does GMs skip-shift feature just prevent you from shifting from first gear into second or what? How does this thing work and what exactly does it do? Davy
  12. Excellent pictures showing a clear documentation of the swap. Nice diagrams too! I like useful sites, not just show & go! Keep up the great work Davy
  13. Your 280Z should have the R200 in it which is plenty strong for a 'mild' V8. I hate to say search, but search! The pics you'll find here: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/...ap/diffswap.htm All I did was use the search function---it's working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Davy

    Marathon

Pretty good times for the marathon. My personal best was 3:36 for the Oakland Marathon in the mid 1980's, but nothing ever faster. My desire to run ran out as I went to college and started weight lifting. I have to say I felt (and still feel) much better doing less running and more lifting. I only run now to keep the coronary health up. Davy
  15. No that's "I am what I am and that's all that I am, I am Popeye the sailor man!" Davy
  16. Answer: It's not mine. Davy
  17. I have thought about those wheels for a long time. They are about the right size, and with a low profile tire would do well on the Datsun. I would think you could fine them in good condition since most of those cars are driven reasonably and most I see are well taken care of. I wonder why you can't find them cheaper? Hope the alternatives work out, but those Chinese made wheels on ebay might not be as strong... Davy
  18. I have Eibach progressives on my 240Z and they are great---lowered the car about 1 inch and handle well. Ride is actually ok. Davy
  19. alsil did the only successful Mustang power rack swap WITH a decent amount of information in documenting what he did. Some of the information is here in the site, the rest is (was?) on his website, but I don't remember the url. There are some threads with info on the WRX unit or Miata units (Tim is correct) here, but I don't know if you'll find anything super-detailed. The main issue with the power racks is that they are 1 to 2 inches too wide on one end. They'll bolt up just fine in most cases (WRX, Miata, and even RX7 gen III) look like they will since they appear to have the same mounting provisions, but the geometry of the ends will be off. This would mostly hurt when your suspension goes up and down while cornering, but I have not gone beyond just thinking about it. Terry O (Blueovall Z) or JohnC may have some good thoughts on that. Davy
  20. Only the uneducated among us would think this means "peanut butter foot" not "lead foot." ...Wait, did you actually mean "peanut butter foot?" lol I like it! Mike, I'm not sure OEMSUX would make it in CA---they are pretty PC on any swear words ('sucks' is hardly one, but here...sheesh) but never mind the FOREIGN cuss words or innuendo that actually show up on license plates here. Some read backwards, some are blatant, yadda yadda yadda. In another state, there was one Rolls Royce plate that read "RCHPHKR." My personal favorite is still: NOPURIST. Davy
  21. I have been married for nearly as long as you and I'm half your age! j/k Congrats, Mark! Davy
