  1. The groove is not on the drive gear itself, but on the casing portion just above it. I imagine that going down far enough to be even with the "tube" portion is deep enough, but maybe Grumpy will enlighten us. I like this trick because it is so simple, but makes sense and should be effective. Davy
  2. Sergio, the car sounds completely insane! It's pure music and I love it--I'm not sure I have a heard a better sounding V8Z in a long time. Excellent work on the car too. You might want to edit out your license plate, just in case someone has it out for you and reports the car to the cops or DMV, whatever. Remember that the car is not subject to biannual smog inspections, but it still technically must have the original smog devices in place. Eh, I'm just thinking... Davy
  3. I like the work that was done to the body---definitely has Ferrari influence. I like the idea that it's a one-off, not a kit. The car is pretty cool and I'm sure that it is plenty fast too. Davy
  4. Every member has a "gallery" or empty photo space they can use on this site. You must go into the photo album and upload your photos into HybridZ from your computer. Then you can post and either 1) link it to the url or 2) post the pic using the notation. Both work well. Davy
  5. In the States just about every hardware store I've come across carries the stuff, usually in a pink bottle for whatever reason. Good luck. Davy
  6. Boil some water and get some fresh towels; it's going to give birth! I'll take the wheels off it! Davy
  7. It would look aggressive, Mike, and we know you'd never want that. Davy
  8. This thread is DEFINITELY going to need pictures before it is all done. OTM, take some before, during, and after photos if possible---it'll inspire a whole lot more spending among the members. A final photo of the finished product is also worth a thousand words, especially when a experienced PC like Mike is involved. This is going to be good. Davy
  9. Whoa, I reread the description and at $1000 per kilogram I'll make the dog eat the coffee beans and just give the resulting "treats" to the mother-in-law....probably tastes the same anyway. Hmmm, 'cat-like' animal. Well, the pinscher won't do, so maybe Auxilary will let me use his cat instead. Davy
  10. I almost ridiculed my Filipino mother-in-law when she mentioned this about two months ago. I swear I didn't believe her. I was wrong. So, to show my sincerity, I'll buy her a pound or two... Davy
  11. Paul, glad you are doing pretty well after that!! My gosh, the back is missing. Good thing you were not in a Z car.... Rest, recover, retaliate. Davy
  12. Yep, these were things advertised in Car Craft a while back and I thought they were great. I think they are available in a polished finish too. These are pretty darn cool IMO. Davy
  13. I must have misunderstood another post of yours from another thread. My bad. I find that interesting, but not unbelievable. I can't for pics of the car with rubber!! I have to agree with you there, although I think the industry trend is unfortunate, especially for "old" cars like our own that do better (in my opinion) with 15" to 17" wheels and proper offsets that are now difficult to find. Keep the updates coming as they happen Davy
  14. Hmmm, you are right--there doesn't appear to be any waves in the fiberglass at all and the straight panels make the car look like it's all metal; pretty cool. Looks great so far. Please post the pics after it's all finished Davy
  15. The new wheels look fantastic, but is this the size you really wanted? (18"?) Seems like the car would sit higher on 18"s than on 17"s. However, recalling your suspension setup, I can picture that perhaps you'll get the car as low as you need it to be, but will that be where you want it to be? I'm afraid of 18" wheels since I believe they'll make the car sit higher off the ground (think of the bling 22" dub rims on those God-forsaken DONKS...well maybe not that bad, but you get the idea...) than what I desire. I know the car is a combo car, not track devoted, but I'm just wondering what you think is "optimal" for it. BTW, it looks great so far!!! Good to see how fast everything is happening now. Davy
  16. Thanks for sending him to me, Ernie. I did give him the information. They did good body work and paint work from what I can see, but I left my car in primer for the time being. They painted my aquaintance's car that they also did some great custom work to and it came out great according to him (I never saw the car since it went directly to Sacto). Anyway, the correct contact information for the shop is this (nevermind the other old post of mine): M&H Auto Repair and Body 1211 11th Ave, Oakland CA 94606 510-839-7288
  17. I would too, but he still needs a shop to weld them in. Aux gave good advice. Davy
  18. Go to the Group Buy forum and look for a Sportmax wheel group buy. You'll see pics in the thread. Just go look. Davy
  19. What the heck are you doing in the Bayview?? That's the tunnel by Carr, Salinas, and Gilman right? It's the Bayview District I'm pretty sure---Hunter's Point is more northeast. Do you work out there? I'm in the area since I work for the mortgage arm of a lending institution, but not by choice. Great photo BTW. If you want some excellent graffiti, try the walls under the 280/101 interchange off of Alemany at the "flea market" parking area. You can't miss it if you are on Alemany coming from industrial---I thought it would be the best place to photograph a cool looking Z. Davy
  20. Shouldn't be too hard to find them---hopefully they were in a small car and sustained damage to their car & themselves. Sucks if it was a Suburban that drove off like nothing happened. Good luck. Davy
  21. Mike, I'm interested in this, but we just need some more details. Thanks Davy EDIT: just spoke to the wife and I have to pass--SORRY!
  22. Screaming deal...what a Christmas present! I second that the wheels are worth the money alone. Nice buy! BTW, newbies only get ripped when they don't pay attention to the rules, which are clearly laid out. The most frequent violation is posting before doing any sort of a SEARCH about a particular topic. Even then we use mink whips, so it can't sting too much. Did I just say that? Anyway, welcome to the forum and pay no attention to Auxilary's lies Davy
