She wrote: hello, thanks for your cooperation but just to bring it to ur notice that the payment is coming to ur way so keep watching for it, the reason is that my client had an accident abt a month ago so thats why u didn't hear anything from me and do plz let me be aware asap u receive the payment. best regards, mary scot, thanks. 2. I believe you are talking about something else. Not sure though But the shaking I always thought (at launch) was because at a certain rotating speed the grippyness of the clutch is on a certain threshold of slipping or holding so that it grabs then lets go back and forth until a certain speed is met between the two plates in the clutch. Im probably wrong but that makes the most sense to me. I might not be understanding your question correctly though, this often happens to me in first at low speeds (b/c i have a heavy car and often engage at 600-700 rpm) if you mean the low note the engine makes when you pull 35mph in 5th, which can be accompanied by shaking, I believe that is from the engine spinning too slowly for the amount of combustion. So basically the pistons are taking a heavy load, thus shaking the car. Also not positive on this one!
  3. Well those are 16X7's, a little skinny for me but also they are kind of pricey. The problem with getting these konig wheels is that they demand payment for 400 wheels upfront, kind of steep.
  4. Aren't racing wheels dangerous on the street? Or are these okay?
  5. nice, is this going to be primarily for the 240z's or the 260/280 (if there is a difference)?
  6. If im not mistaken i might be, the skyline is basically a g35/350z now with different internals. I don't think it is ugly i acctually like the look, but I don't think it is unique any more and i desperately miss the mean eyes the r34 had.
  7. 240Z/260Z 1970-74 1/2: HZ3015 HZ3016 :BZ3015 BZ3016 - 260Z/280Z1974 1/2-78: HZ3012 HZ3013 :BZ3012 BZ3013 - Check your part numbers.... A 240z should have BZ3015 fronts and BZ3016 rears...
  8. they are watanabe copies, and very well done. Pretty much the wheel we all dream of, also it is light. But 400 wheels, thats crazy, I like the MSA idea though... should i forward them the email and this thread? Wheels will probably cost them @400 a set, just a guess, so if they need to pick up the other 66% they need to front $26000 ish, of course they will make alot of that back by gouging us and making us pay probably $800 a set. So they realistically would have to put out about $13000 to do this, wonder if they would...?
  9. Hi, I was jsut wondering from peoples experiences if it is better to simply order rebuilt half shafts off autozone or kragen or if its best to have NAPA just press in new U-Joints? Also this is for a 240z running the 87-89 300zxt CLSD so 76-78 280z manual transmission half shafts would be the perfect ones to order (if i went through autozone or kragen) correct? (I remember reading all half shafts are the same though...)
  10. I thought diesel needed higher temps to burn, I could be wrong though. But direct injection still requires a spark and can be used at conventional gas car compression ratios. I think maybe the reason they don't inject gas at 20:1 is that, like you said, it may be too sporatic and not even enough.
  11. It can run on gas provided the compression which causes detonation is lowered to below 11:1. Im sure it can run mroe then 11:1 but on 91 octane i don't think anyone would want to push it much more. If normal gasoline was used in this fashion it would be mixed witht he air via efi or carb before entering the intake port. Also a spark would need to be suplied at the combustion point. Diesel simply makes sense on this engine because it is simpler, doesn't require a spark, better mpg, and better volumetric efficency. I wonder, always have, is it possible to inject gasoline into a 20:1 or 25:1 cylinder and expect power? Why don't gas engines run in the same way diesels do? (fuel being injected instead of mixed with the air before)
  12. I emailed the konig website to ask about 16X8 rewinds, don't think they will be available any time soon.....: We would need an order of 400 wheels, prepaid and only one contact handling everything. ======================================================== -----Original Message----- From: rudypoochris@yahoo.com [mailto:rudypoochris@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, October 17, 2005 6:51 PM To: mail@konigwheels.com Subject: Questions and Comments Questions and Comments ------------------------------------ First Name: Chris Last Name: Moris Company Name: Address: City: Oakland State: CA Country: USA Zip: 94618 Phone: E-mail: rudypoochris@yahoo.com Make of Car: Nissan/Datsun Model of Car: 240z Year of Car: 1972 Contact Phone: Questions and Coments: I was wondering if I arranged a group buy, would it be possible to make 16X8" konig rewinds with a 0 to -10 offset whatever is easiest to make. In 114.3 X 4 Lug, there seems to be a fair amount of intrest in the 240z community. If this is possible how many buyers would you need, also what would the approximate cost be, thanks! -------------------------------------
  13. lol i feel like such a dumbass considering that i knew all of that. I just had a brain fart i guess. So yes, the fuel is injected right at the peak compression or right on the downhill slope. I would probably go gas with mine, if i ever had one, which would make it possible to use a carburater to keep things simple.
  14. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/lsdinsert/index.html I prefer the idea of (kevlar vs steel) vs (steel vs steel). Plus it is only $260 if your going the phantom grip esq way.
  15. I wanna see if a local machine shop can build a little version, then i can see what fails and then see if someone can make a bigger one. Im probably being too abitious though, but hey whatever. The problem for me is the seals and the fuel injection, b/c I am not very megasquirt savy.
  16. http://www.regtech.com/93.html Does anyone know/own a machine shop that can build this. It runs on diesel, or anyother gas pretty much. They tested a 20:1 compression ration diesel 6" Diameter by 6" long unit that made a whopping 42hp at 7000 rpm, and it gets better consumption then the conventional diesel! What is nice about this is, it is so simple that I think a good machine shop could make one! Plus it is light, and small. They say volumetric efficency is at 30% compared to piston engines 7-8%. This would have to be matted to megasquirt i believe. What do you guys think, good idea for a hybrid? The most difficult part imho, is the the cams, those look tricky to machine.
  17. Well the SS lines from ross are $70 for the pair, not $140 and you can unckeck it as an option. I would send him and email and ask if it is compatible with out. Probably is because the brakes are both made by the same company (forget the name, sumitomo? dunno). But i got the ss any way because the pedal feel is drastically more defined.
  18. i got it who says that. That north korean guy huh
  19. Thought someone might be intrested in this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-1971-240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-California-Z-Wide-Body_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34204QQitemZ4581747901QQrdZ1
  20. Use the ones on ross's site, I use those and they work for sure. Also i don't get why you would want just the spacers, unless you got ss lines, pads, and rotors. But ask him for just the spacers, Im sure he would be more then happy to sellt o you
