  1. Okay i am intrested in the 16X8 avenger wheels but they require racing lug nuts with the 45 degree angel. I do not know the width of the studs on a 240z (i dont have a hub here) and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to finding these lugs. Thanks!
  2. johnc in your opinion how many points should there be and where should they anchor for a street car running 350-400hp. Primarily to stiffen the chassis and an added plus to protect the head. Thanks!
  3. is the sedan platform the same as the coupe platform? I know the sedan offers awd that might indicate a difference? Would be sweet to have an awd Z, if they managed to about half the weight before installed the awd system.
  4. Three is a good idea but difficult, and five is a good one also. But contrary to popular belief the plutonium created by nuclear reactors cannot be used to make bombs, can't remember why, i learned it in chemistry though, if some chemist wants to chime in. And also the fuel to run the reactor is very small and must only be changed once every 6 months ish. I watched this all in chemistry class but it might be outdated. Also the amount of power a nuclear reactor can generate is enormous compared to pretty much anything else except (fusion, or is it fission i can't remember which is the bigger). So pretty much we would also need MUCH less plants compared to the current energy systems.
  5. Check the official frapper for peoples locations btw....... it is a sticky 240z putting in ford 302 carb, california, want a great handeling reliable sports car
  6. Im under the impression that a booster is pretty much a booster. The thing is they are very expensive $$$ you will probably want to get one from a jy or ebay.
  7. Better how? The g35 is heavier and inturn slower. Unless you mean design and finishes etc. But i still prefer the z by a hair.
  8. Thats sounds like it could be it, did you check your brake fluid level and for any brake leaks at the calipers/mc?
  9. This is an easy one i hope. I removed my front transverse link bushings, stupidly though for whatever reason i did not note which side is the long side of the bushing. I can't get a good picture of how to reinstall these either. So for the front control arm bushing does the extra urethane point to the front of the car or to the back. Thanks!
  10. good question above, also, I believe they use racing lug nuts not standard, angles are different i think.
  11. Well albert goertz (sp?) the was the designer of the BMW 507 as well as the 240z, so it is kind of a long time design thing. Anyway I don't think the power plant is that impressive compared to the 3.2L 334hp (360hp in europe) M3's power plant. Plus I think that a Z car should be lighter then either of these offerings and look more like the original. I don't like the back of the BMW or the 350z, the fronts are equally untrue to form.
  12. Im probably experiencing what you call clutch chatter then, whats the deal with that? (explaination please im intrested to learn) And ya you might be lugging the engine, Im not really sure what the exact situation is. Do you mean like when the car is bucking because you took the gear to low or when the car is just wigling a bit on launch. If it is this then it is because the pistons are taking an explosion on them but are not able to spin at the correct speed to maintain the rotation correctly/smoothly. This is pad push clutch in and take the correct gear. Plus the back and forth on the driveline might leave you with some broken parts if you do this enough.
  13. it is not that there is anything wrong with automatics at all. Quite contrary they are good for many things. But for me i prefer the directness of the manual. I hate flooring the gas in the gs300 only to wait .5-1.5 seconds for it to drop the gear and acctually go anywhere. Plus i can never be in the gear i want out of a turn (this car doesnt have tiptronic). It just feels distinctly unsporty. Not that the gs300 is the most sporty car, but the 92' Explorer with 5 speed i drive is more of a pleasure imho then driving the gs300. Thats all.
  14. Its bogus, because all of the skylines up to the r34 had a distinct link back to the kpgc10. You could look at it and see it. They all had I6's and the same body lines pretty much. Now they have scrapped the I6 (granted v6's handel better because they are lower so im mixed on this, but yes some of the nostaligia the early z's and skyliens envoked will be gone), they have based the chassis upon some lesser car (in my opinion a big no no), and they have basically changed the body lines entirely so that it now has pretty much no resemblence to the kpgc10. Imho those are all very bad things. The good thing in my opinion is that it will be a new attractive sports car. It seems it will most certainly let people who are seeking for a beat all car down, but atleast it will be a pretty decent car. Heavy though.
  15. Well i know the IS 350 isn't the most performance orientated car, but lexus is certainly trying to push for that image. I would assume that at least half the people intrested in buying a factory 306hp car would also atleast be a little intrested in a stick. Even if only 1/10 people buy it, I think it will do alot more for their image, plus it should steal away from the BMW crowd. I like how when the 350z was first released it was only available in stick, I thought that was a nifty counter ?culture? movement.
  16. Im an SBF fan and a Mazda rx-7 fan (except the FC but only for looks!) so, basically i like your car. And the flares would look fantastic.
  17. This might be a dumb question, but why don't manufacturers use CV's on the drive shaft? That might be an intresting next step if angles are a concern...
  18. Just wondering why are manufacturers blotting out manual transmissions in luxury cars? In 2000 my family wanted to buy a lexus gs300 with a stick shift and they said no can do, it has never been offered. Seems kind of crazy to me? It is just so much funner to drive in my opinion. Plus ontop of that the higher hp models (taking into account lexus still) such as the brand new IS 350, aren't offered with a stick, but their lesser hp (IS 250) counter parts are? What gives? Why does the car with lesser performance get the stick vs the higher performance car that gets the auto (granted it is padel shift but imho all lexus trannies shift SLOW so it isnt really a performance feature, atleast leave the option of a stick). This isn't just a lexus thing just using them as an example.
  19. Most people at my school think a turbo timer will provide better 0-60's :S
