  3. I think someone said somewhere that the axles from a r180 240z will create incorrect backlash when put into this unit. I am not sure though that could just be one persons strange experience. i read this by searching r160 and posts by johnc. Check it out it is one of the three results. But other then that they are cheap so it is worth a try. And if you are adventurous why not try swapping the center into a r200 or an r180 might have intresting results, although i do believe the weak point is not the actual ring gear.

  5. While reading the acceptable + size offset thread i started thinking about increasing a z's track. I want to run the 16X8 +10 offset rota's aux's friend is selling and I was wondering, since i need to have a spacer of atleast 5-8 mm in the front (to clear the 4x4 setup), would it be possible to make the spacer big enough to fit nicely under ZG flares. I really like the ZG look but i do not want my wheels to get super wide for handleing (steering effort anyway), hydroplanning, and since im not racing its just plain not necessary. I believe my lug's are 43mm long opposed to the 32mm the Z had before, any way i picked up 10-11mm of threads over stock. So would it be wise to increase the track to make these wheels line up with ZG's or is the difference simply too much. Thanks
  6. paint the datsun symbol thing, the circular one in white blue and red. But if you do the Z emblem make sure it has the dash through the center and that it is a good template. Also leave some spray off the endge of the template to make it look "street"

  8. Few questions for the lexan/plexi idea im quite intrested: 1. Can a clear coating be applied to the plexi/lexan that will protect it from scratching? (like clear nail polish, except not) 2. What thickness is appropriate for the rear quarter windows and hatch. 3. Is it a bad idea to do the windshield? 4. Could the plexi/lexan bend enough to do the windshield or would that need to be a special cut. I assume it is bendable enough for something like the hatch? thanks!

  10. Why not look to subaru? Or do they not make an r200 only r180's and 160's huh. How hard would it be to get a say ford 8 inch and then from there simply redrill the bolt holes. Well other then the whole pinion won't work out thing. Well i just answered that one.....
  11. But could it be possible to put on a tiny superchanger pully and hence boost the compression (before it gets tot he combustion chambers) or is too much energy lost by going to a dinky pully?

  13. the 4.11 is from an 85-86 200sx turbo i believe, just adding.could a 4.33 be made by matching the ring from a 3.9 (has 39 teeth) tot he pinion of the 4.11 (9 tooth). Or did i just commit the biggest sin in my mind (mixing ring and pinion sets)
  14. my girlfriend drools over any miata, just recently she saw the new miata. She definatly wants that now. yar, is your girl hardtop or convertable. I'd never get a convertable personally just for performance reasons, but from what i hear the new miata is much more stiff than before. My all time "cute" car is the mini cooper (original only please) or your girl wants something brand new? If so then i would get an rsx or a se-r. But since you want american seems like your stuck with the focus, the fusion if it is out yet?, neon, and the cobalt. I would choose from those.

  16. $25 thats funny all i have been able to find are drivers side ones! im pretty intrested in this parts bin, but don't have anywhere near the money im going to check it out but were you guys being serious about buying it all. If only there was a place to store it. I need to think a little. It is an awesome set from what i gather...

Just talked to him on the phone: near 80 doors near 25 rear hatches near 10 mostly 280/260 rear bumpers near 10 front bumpers about 6 fenders about 4 hoods and then a ton of interior parts/suspensions parts/engine stuff (even complete) no more differentials though (someone bought all 25 he even had 87-89's from the 300zxtt's) Im going up to his house this weekend to get a pass fender, i can snap some shots maybe, he said alot fo the stuff he has is un photographed. Also the stuff comes with all the containers. The set of rims there are 16X7 5 lugs i believe.

  19. it's turboed though, so wouldn't a lower compression be better and since it is 7.2:1, that sounds just about right to run gas, doesn't it? Correct me if im wrong here.
  20. Isn't the reactor simply what burns the excess exhaust fumes for emissions on the rotary engines? Or am i missing something? Maybe he ment 6 rotor? If it was a mazda it would be more like 3.9 liters okay im done
