noted, im running 225-250hp and 300 lb ft maybe eventually upgrading to 345 by 300lb ft. With out an lsd is 225 enough? with an lsd 225 should be mroe then enough correct?

I found a dunlop sp 8000 sport 245/50/15 Z rating, but they are $140 (i assume that means each) kinda steep. The reviews say it is a good tire though. I think i do not want to go to 225 that isn't very much meat and i think it will look overstretched on an 8" rim, is this true?

I have 15X8 rims and am having a hell of a time finding a good performance tire in a 235-255 size to fit them. Does anyone know of a 235-255 good tire that will fit a 15 inch rim with a 35-55 aspect ratio, maybe i am just retarded. I want the 235's on the front (to keep steering light and crisp) and 255's (for the power delivery) on the back, does that make sense? thanks!

Both the car and the girl break the apples but, theres alot of people in this world, and not alot of ferraris. Plus with that car you could probably get a better girl then her, so the car. cant really tell about her driving, she seemed to run up third for no reason, but there just isnt enough to see if shes a good driver, not too curvy (or lack of curve shots) any way.

i thought i was the only one that didnt buy into the skyline craze. I understand they are good, pretty damn good. But they are heavy and 285hp while its alot, a honda accord IMA makes only 30hp less with out the turbos. But hey in 2007 when the skyline comes to the US market, it should be pretty trick.

i did do some research and it is nice that they are small and light, but 300hp and 300lbft of torque, i think those are the numbers, atleast in the gs v8 any way, just isnt that much anymore. Hey its still alot mroe then my small block 302 im putting into my project but, i jsut dont get why this guy used this v8 when the four he had can make jsut as much with less money/weight. Thats all, i do appreciate the amount of work he put in though it is quite immaculate. good swap

this is how i woudl do it... assuming a max performance run with mpg at say crusing (i know this isnt accurate the crusing mpg part but hey it will offset the always going full throtle part) the HP value woudl eb the HP under the curve between lowest practical rpm and highest practile rpm... so between say 3000-6000, because lets face it if we are trying to go fast we are not going to be using 750-3000 rpm.... NOTE: cars will have different interval to measure from but if we keep them all 3000 rpm it should provide for a relatively decent application.. for instance a rotary maybe would be best between 6000-9000 while a v8 is best 3000-6000 and a diesel from 2000-5000... lets not worry about diesel though.... so using the original formula: EIR = (HP under the curve at the given interval stated above)*(mpg at crusing)/(Weight of the engine) now this is how id do it.... EIR = (HP under the curve at the given interval stated above)*(mpg at crusing)/[(Weight of car)-(the original drivetrain)+(the new drive train)] the whole drivetrain and car weight part gives a more realistic representation of how the engines weight effects the whole scenario. An engine weighing 400 lbs compared to a 200lb one is 100% heavier when put into a 240z lets say it is 2100 lbs with the 200lb engine and 2400 lbs with the 400lb engine (the big boy has a beefed up drivetrain too) so, the increase instead of being 100% would be a much smaller effect thus reducing its overal effect in the formula. Because in real life even though the 400lb engine is twice as heavy its not THAT big a deal once in the car. Btw this thread should be made sticky and someone should figure out a standard HybridZ EIR. YAY

not to bash on this guys swap and hard work but i wouldnt think that a toyota 4 litre or 4.3 litre, not sure which it is, would roar. There are much better nissan v8's out there that are jsut as smooth and much mroe potent, i think this engine is on its last legs at lexus/toyota. Also since the avalons 6 cylinder makes 280hp and this v8 makes 300 i believe. That being said it is very cool

that looks really nice but isnt that the same engine in the lexus gs 430 or 400 if it is, cant the same power be amde with the turbo four that the 240sx had? also wouldnt a nissan v8 from a q or a titan make more sense, jsut my 2 cents. but awesome
