  1. yar... is that a overbored or stroked b9 tribeca 3.0L flat/boxer 6.... if so i definatly want that engine. Wonder if it fits in a z? Heh talk about low center of gravity
  2. thats awesome, but am i missing soemthing or are thsoe two big turbos going to get pretty much every little pebble up in them, resulting in weekly $2000 trubo rebuilds?
  3. well it is hard to explain and obviously since i wasnt there i cant tell you. But on my explorer when i go from 65mph at 5 to 65 at 3rd (a much mroe extreme case then yours) the engine obviously will take time to match the road speed. Now if i let the clutch out too fast, the traction in the rears will break away for just an instant (because the engine was at 2000 rpm and now is trying to jump to 4000 rpm), but since i have my foot on the gas it is quickly followed by acceleration. This is bad for the car. Now i am not sure if that is what happened. I don't know what your throttle response is, and a jump from 5 to 4 isnt that much, maybe you just got unlucky or it happened so fast that you don't realize it happened Don't worry about it new u-joints should be sufficent btw... are you sure, since you are running rich and all, that when u dumped all that gas into the engine that it didnt bog at all even for a split second, because that has happened to me, never broke a u-joint off it but it can happen when you dump alot of gas in at once, especially if you are going lean. (but it probably isnt this)
  4. For sure, it is a pretty good upgrade from what i hear. Even the stock brakes are pretty good for street (also from what i hear and from removing them they got some beef to them). Those s12-8 brakes with stock rotor will be more then fine. People, like myself (i have s12w), tend to overdue things and get ahead of themselves. For more info check the brake topic in the FAQ forum
  5. uh....... i didnt know any stock engine not ment for a turbo could take 17psi, guess i was wrong. What do ya think my sohc 4.0 litre 1992 ford block will get stock with just a couple of turbos and 17 psi?
  6. the s12-8's for sure won't fit a vented rotor not sure if the 4 lug 300zx rotor you are refering to is a solid though?
  7. Ok, sorry i guess i misunderstood. I dont know about the compatability of the 300zx 4 lug non-vented rotor with the s12-8's but, if your willing to spend the extra money i would recommend simply ordering remanufactured s12w's from autozone.com or kragen.com etc. I would then just use any caliper as a core i don't think they check, i could be wrong though.
  8. other way around you want s12w for the vented rotor. s12-8's are inferior and work on the stock rotor.... btw... the nabco MC's all say their bore size on them i believe look for a 15/16 or 7/8's marking towards the end of the mc
  9. Just from experience I bet it is the quick decel then accel. Most likely, like others said, you let the clutch out (too fast for the speed I guess) before the engine was reved up, your tires lost traction briefly to catch up with the drivetrain, then you hammerd the accel which finally finished off the joint. So i agree with what the others said pretty much. But, how much does your flywheel weigh btw? Also are you carburated or efi? Just wondering because maybe the engine bogged a little from all that gas you dumped when you floored it, so maybe the engine was trying to get back to a good AFR and get the rpms up. So it is possible that maybe your rpms at the time wernt as high as you are thinking. Lastly u-joints should be aok. I can't remember where i read this, maybe JTR but someone recommended oem nissan u-joints because they are stronger then spicer u-joints maybe soemthing to do with grease fittings, i don't really remember and i could be wrong but look into it. good luck!
  10. sounds like you need to get laid man. Sorry about your car im sure you will take care of it

  12. i like felix da house cat..... silver screen shower scene.... but then again im a dance beat junkie.... and yes these guys are funny i wouldnt listen to them for normal pleasure though
  13. "For House, Trance, Trip Hop, etc, I used to listen to Monkey Radio on Winamp" ok now i thought i was the only house trance junky, intresting to know.... Anyone listen to felix da housecat... no? nobody????
  14. do a google image search on: 240z, 260z, 280z (these all look the same but weigh differently and have different chassis stiffnesses i believe, generally the most desirable of the 3 is the 240z [b/c it is lightest]) then there is the 280zx (honestly i can't remember if this looks like the 240's -280's, i think it does but with bigger bumpers and some fake chrom modldings (correct me if i am wrong) next comes the early 300zx and then later 300zx, they look pretty much nothing like the 1st gen cars. lastly there is the 350z which i think probably wouldnt benefit much from a stock 350 swap.

Do they provide a noticeable handeling imrpovement or just extra weight NOTE: Sorry just realize they specified that this will fit in "any car" stupid me i doubt it will fit in a z unless it was in the trunk
  16. dammit this is like the rear control arms that are identicals except this acctually matters
  17. I know this has beent alked to death but a definate answer has not really popped up to me: 1. Are the bumpsteer spacers msa makes worth the $60 or is it just not that big a deal (for street/autox on a $3000 total budget) 2. What is the best sway bar combo? (i know msa sells a pair for $229, is this a good price/deal) thanks sorry if this is repeated i really did try to search couldn't find what i needed
  18. Nice! but why not put that drivetrain in a Z! or an.... evo? hehe i guess if you need an suv it makes sense in some sick twisted way. But hey whatever makes you happy, great accomplishment
  19. I love the 350's good choice. My only beef with it is the weight :S wish it wasn't so god damn heavy. Other then that... awesome car
  20. agreed. I have spead ridiculously fast solo and never had a problem (except with cops which is why i don't do it any more) but i have ntoiced when i am in a group going at any speed above 65 it gets a little out of hand, lots mroe accel and brake and curves too fast. It just isnt good. Friends take your thinking side of the brain (for driving) away imho.
