  5. :sticks neck out: The title is so much of a DUH that I'm glad you said you did it because I didn't remember it being that obvious. I probably would have never opened it if it was originally titled as such. Or I would have opened it with the intent of saying some smart comment as a reply. No offense.   6. I don't know how I came up with 280zwitha383. I have a 280ZX with a 383. I guess at the time I didn't see the big difference..... Now I do.
  7. iron heads, 11:1 compression, nitrous... what kind of fuel do you run? Have you ran it at the track? Sounds sweet either way.

  11. Sorry to hijack but, how do you test blowby? Also what happens if you break the second ring (I may have done this)? Will it F up your cylinder? I.E. Should I fix this ASAP or just keep watching oil levels?

  15. A ratchet shifter allows you to change gears without having to worry about moving the shifter too far and going into an undesired gear. For instance, say you're in first and want to go to second, all you have to do is push the shifter up once and you're in second, push it up again and you're in third. You don't have to use the ratchet function, you can simply pull up (usually) and shift right into any gear you like (just like a "normal" shifter). Make any sense? I have one and I really like it.
  16. I have two friends that want two different boosted cars. One is getting a 240sx with a sr20det. New pullout engine and some tuning by a friend who knows his stuff (supposedly). It's the red top (?, whichever one is not built as much as the other) which is supposed to be good for 15psi (according to the same guy that says the other guy knows his stuff about tuning). My friend wants the car to learn how to drift and isn't really concerned about straight line racing. He is giving up on his project 280zx that already has a mounted stock 350 and 350th tranny. I can't figure out why he can't drift in the 280ZX especially since he is already this far. Maybe it has something to do with the weight distribution I don't know. He's getting the 240sx for $2500 which seems like a pretty good deal to me, and selling the shell of the 280ZX and complete dissasemble 350 with something else for $100, basically giving me the engine because I sold the same 280zx to him for $100. The other friend has a ZX2 that he wants to run about 15 psi on the 2L engine with a roots s/c. The car is right at 250lbs and with 15 psi he should put down say 250whp. Shouldn't that be high 12's? I wonder if the tranny will hold up, after all the stock engine is only like 130 flywheel hp. I know he's gonna sink some cash into the thing with forged internals, new head, cams, exhaust, then $3000 s/c setup. How do you think these setups run? I'm happy that I will actually have some friends with some decent cars.

  19. This is VERY true. I don't know J and I don't even know what topic he hangs around in but everytime I post in the misc tech or whatever that other one is (haha) he ALWAYS replies first has a good idea of what's up with my stuff and I SINCERELY appreciate it. KEEP IT UP
  20. don't give up on the Z. Take a few days away from working on it and regather your senses. You'll be happy you did.
  21. I used a throttle cable from a 60's chevy (can't remember exactly what but I think they're all very similar. 15 bucks as opposed to a however much the Lokar is. Plus you can go get one at a parts store instead of having to order one.
