Around here people say, "ninety to nothing". Like, her mouth was going ninety to nothing. It is meant to say that something is fast but it just doesn't make sense. Is that said in other places and am I quoting it right?

Well the vortec engines had roller cams. If you can get your hands on one they are an excellent start on some mild power. I got one for $350 that I don't even think needed bearings but it had the FI intake on it and just need(ed) wiring harness and computer. Whenever I get around to it I've got megasquirt and a harness and a mild cam for it. The lift restriction of stock vortec heads should be mentioned. Anything above .450-.470 at the valve will cause something to not have enough clearance (I can't remember). This can be fixed with some machine work.

My neck hurts just thinking about holding my big head up for that long. I'd rather have some rollers on my butt I think. Still way cool.

The turbo the engine later thing is what concerns me. You either need to build the engine to be n/a or you need to build it to be a turbo engine. If you want 400hp out of a 5.0 you're going to need a decent compression ratio and possibly forged pistons. Don't know if any 5.0 come with forged pistons but if they don't there's a solid $400. Then when you want to turbo it you're going to need new forged pistons (then you should have the rotating assembly balanced) and a different cam. I say build it how you want it the first time ESPECIALLY when money is the issue because when you have to open the engine back up and put whatever in you're spending money twice on what you should have done in the first place. Consider two engines, one stock to get you running and then the monster engine. Sometimes this isn't practical but if you can get a decent engine for a few hundred dollars and get the car running while you build your dream engine you're better off I think. Two separate LS engines is probably out of the question as just one is usually a stretch so other things need to be considered there also. Something to think about anyway.

That saying has bothered me too. I couldn't tell what people were saying so I figured it should be I couldn't care less because that's the only thing that makes sense.

Intake fuel pump? Is this on a fuel injected engine? Please elaborate.

I like buying cars that have oil pressure gauges. If you can get away with it do a compression test on it also. Smell the oil and transmission fluid as stated. "Feel" the transmission. If it doesn't shift like you think it should stay away. The rest of a list would be endless. For $1k you can't go too wrong.

Do your research on that transmission also. If I was building anything with over 400tq I would consider a different transmission like the 4L80e or maybe even a well built 200-4r.

Well, there is a point to saying that making him feel like sex is bad and that wanting to look at girly pictures is horrible. It will give him a complex. You should explain that all of the desires are natural but they do need to be governed in some way. People that are raised with the impression that all sex is bad and that it's aweful to want to look at a woman usually turn out to be the worst and it is noted to be a trait in psycho's early childhood. Since it is so bad in their mind but they can't overcome it, they eventually embrace it (I guess).

I figured since you couldn't use an LSx T56 on a traditional sbc (right?) the autos were the same but I didn't know the bolt pattern was the same. I apologize! If it's that easy and if you were making a lot of power I could see why you would want a th350/400.

Really that was always my rationalizing. It is a lesser of two evils with fewer immediate consequences. I don't know if men can overcome this on their own however (assuming they want to overcome it). From the people that are open enough to discuss their struggles it seems to me that pornography leads to nothing short of an adulterous mind and eventually adultery. Now I know there are many many people who see nothing wrong with pornography, sex outside of marriage and everything else and I know they will wonder what in the world I'm talking about. That why I say it's hard to comment on JSM talking to his son because there are so many different views on the subject.

It's difficult to comment on it when you yourself are not sure of your stance on it yourself. Personally I think pornography is wrong. I am a Christian and that affects my morals of course. I've looked at my share of pornography in my lifetime as most any guy has I suppose(??). It destroyed my marriage and really I think that's where the problems arise for any guy. In my case at least it robbed me of my affection for my wife and took away from the stuff that married people do (you know...). She also thought it was wrong and I found myself trying to cover it up but of course women find out everything. Anyway, it was one of the biggest things that tore us apart and if it can be stopped or lessened soon in life it is best IMO. Regardless of all of that you need to talk to him about the birds and the bees (again even) and get an idea of what's going on in his mind. Maybe he will open up and tell you about the underwear thing. Are you sure they're his mothers? Not saying they're another girls but if he knows they're his mothers then that is a little concerning and maybe bordering on psychological problems but it's probably just curiosity. If they're just underwear he came across (?) I would think it wouldn't be that bad because they're probably just an aid for his urges, for lack of a better term. Well if you use all of that stuff (that's running in the background) then you just need more ram. You will notice a difference.

Can you comment on the efficiency of the intake/fuel injection/fuel injectors (I guess assuming you're using LT4 components???)? Are they good for a bit of power gain and is the intake free flowing? Or do you find yourself needing bigger fuel injectors and stuck with a low-flow intake once you decide to go bigger. It sounds like you're saying that a cam is really the only upgrade for these engines so I would ASSume stock induction would be sufficient.

Yeah, some of it could be a slow connection but we know for sure that he's running out of memory.
