  1. Maybe I missed this somewhere, but is this applied to bare metal originally or primer? I'm seriously looking into this... Mario
  2. Does it still have the BCDD installed? If so it can cause the floating throttle. Mario
  3. Uh oh... I've got an extra microcontroller, some stepper motors, illuminas, and some free time Mario
  4. Does the pump stay running after it starts? Mario
  5. Wow old thread... I've given in since then... www.myspace.com/originalmafoose Haha Mario
  6. Wrong: he 77-81 5 speeds are almost just the 4 speeds with the extra gear and are considered "wide ratio". The 82-83 5 speeds were designed as 5 speeds from the get go and are considered "close ratio". If I remember correctly, ANY L series tranny will bolt up to any L series engine. The only differences are tranny or driveshaft length. If you get the transmission from a 2+2 the driveshaft will be longer, and if I remember correctly there are some oddball trannies that are a different length (though rarer then most). If you want the 82-83 5 speed, I think it would be a straight swap using your driveshaft, as these later cares have an R200 and a different flange.
  7. My Z is too low for ramps... I need to drive it up on 2x4's then jack it up, then put ramps underneath the tires... I want to build some pre ramps but need to make sure the nose will clear. Mario
  8. Don't you have access to lots of metal working machinery? I'd make my own, the runners of the stock intake are too restrictive, and can't be opened up much. I have one but it has the webbing... Mario
  9. Nice cars but who edits dyno runs like that??? Mario
  10. RacerX posted a wheel that you attach to a drill that remove vinyls. I can't remember what it's called, but you might want to try pm'ing him.... Mario
  11. MJPAuto. I've heard not so good things about the fit and finish. Frank280zx has one I believe.... Mario
  12. Check for 300zx (z32) brake pads. I swear I saw someone grinded off tabs on them for them to look like the toyo pads to work and they are easily availabe as performance pads. Mario
  13. I *think* it's a 22mm. Someone please chime in that's 100% sure... Mario
  14. Looks great!!! (Sat and Sun are slow days here it seems...) Mario
  15. You can use fuel only with MSnS-Extra also. It's nice because you keep all the other features too, like nitrous control and the like. You can also get the MS-II board, that gives you 12x12 tables as well. Mario
  16. Just for the super-inaccurate-and-not-useful-at-all boost gauge. Sorry that was unnecessary =P Mario
  17. From the FAQ: Question: But I live in Chicago and drive it to work in the winter every day on severely pot holed streets covered with salt. Answer: You're an idiot. and Question: But I live in San Francisco and have to park at the top of a steep hill and go out of town for a month at a time. Answer: Get a brick. That's hilarious! On the subject at hand, you might need a proportioning valve or inspection of the rear brakes. It seems like they might not be working as they're supposed to. Mario
  18. 3rd'd. Problem is my co-workers can't stop talking about it with my supervisors (they ALL play). Work can get really annoying at times.... Mario
  19. If you haven't used the ZGs I'd be interested in them. Mario
  20. Search. The 280zx tranny bell housing has to be machined/clearanced for the bigger 240sx tranny countershaft bearing. Driveshaft will probably have to be modified. Search for the details. Mario
  21. Hahaha that's the funniest one I've ever seen! Mario
  22. My 280zxt went to Mexico and back(+1k miles) the summer I bought it non-running. All I did was clean electrical connections and rewire some stuff. My 280z hasn't been on the long of trips. Maybe a few 200 mile trips, but without defroster (currently) I won't be taking it anywhere far for any time soon. Next year once it gets paint I might visit Chicago in it (~+1200 miles each way).
