  1. If this is a laptop I would make sure your serial port is even enabled. Right click on My Computer, hit Properties, Hardware Tab, Device Manager, and go to the Ports tree and see if you have a COM port listed. Mario
  2. Sounds awesome! You need to upload some vids! Mario
  3. $15k?! POV toys cost like... shot in the dark here... $30-40 to make! Then you could put it on any wheels you have and do the same thing. Oh wait, here it is: $38 I think they'd be cooler on a bike then a car anyways... Mario
  4. That's just nuts! Does your setup clear the stock hood? Good luck with it good Dr, Mario
  5. I don't know if the 76s had an oil pressure switch. If so check that. It's on the passenger side of the block and is supposed to prevent the pump from running if there is no oil pressure (it's an "angel" switch). Mario
  6. I was thinking axe murderer. Very interesting, I wonder how they are rust wise. Mario
  7. One of my friends dissassembled an LS1 with 13k miles on it (factory) and the rings weren't gapped 180* or 90* on all the pistons. He found it really weird. Just an FYI Mario
  8. If you don't care for adjustability, why not just a 2 position switch with the appropriate resistors in line? One resistor for each position. It's one of the switches with at least 3 connectors. Mario
  9. Ooh I wouldn't mind a lighter. I remember seeing Wangan Midnight Zippos posted here before. Mario
  10. Chelle I'm gonna have to take you up on the offer and come look at your cars when I head back up to Chicago in the comming weeks!! Looks insanely awesome as ever Mario
  11. Thanks, I couldn't find one that posted the output voltage, I've got a universal AC-DC converter that I'm going to use it for the time being. Mario
  12. I was a f-ing idiot and left my charger at a friends house 4 hrs away.... If you have it can you post the specs? ie Output voltage and center polarity? I don't want to go buy one since I'm heading there this weekend. To make this car related my cig lighter doesn't work in my car nor do I have a car charger... Please and thanks, Mario
  13. Do you have a fan shroud? My 280z never even covers the little F without the fan shroud, though it is rebuilt and the radiator is new. Mario
  14. Haha sweet vids, but is it always raining where you live? 30 mins after I filmed mine the sky broke loose and had this massive monsoon like rain. I really want a new fly wheel, plus the tranny grinds shifting into second (like almost always now), and also into 4th at high rpm. It's funny you mentioned it, but other then the dash and the seats the car is completely gutted. I have no place to mount the camera hence the crappy view. I can get some wheel spin hitting second (accompanied by a terrible grind), and in the wet I can easily break traction. I haven no idea if it's a stock rebuild or not though... Your exhaust sounds great but at the same time it sounds almost like every other Z with a single exhaust, this is my little "while in college" experiment, hence the idea for a custom intake, s/c, twice pipes, and a bunch of other random stuff. Leaving for college in a few weeks, next year's plans is intake and megasquirt, and its (hopefully) going to get painted this winter. Mario
  15. I was looking at some old posted exhausts and some others online that had them fully split, so i decided to go with that. They are a tiny bit above 1 3/4 pipe each, with 2in pipe till about all the way down the tranny. Should be about the same as about a 2.5in single pipe. They are pretty loud, I'm thinking of changing the 2 glass packs for actual mufflers, or at least some spiral flows. Mario
  16. I actually think the TPS connections need to be checked, cleaned, and the TPS adjusted. Mario
  17. Finished it today. Had it done yesterday but it was too low, so I redid the rear today. It's more tucked up then my stock one was except at the very front near the headers. Setup is the MSA coated 3-2 headers with full dual setup front to rear. It's very deep at idle with a god awful drone at 2.5k rpms but it really quiets up above or below that. When you punch it it absolutely screams! Car pulls all the way to redline very linearly now, doesn't seem like it's running out of breath like it used to. I want to design my own intake (and fabricate it at school) to supercharge it with the stock hood. I know it's not the best setup but I want something a little different =D. Mario
  18. Yeah, that's how supercars still pass most noise standards. The new Z06 has them as well I think... Mario
  19. That's exactly what I thought!!! Awesome pics! Mario
  20. I love old radios! I have a NOS Sears & Roebuck shortwave tube radio in my room. What sucks is that it requires two sizes of batteries that are NLA and a 50ft antenna.... Are you gonna take your speakers to your dorm? You need to be careful if so, some dorms with their paper thin walls transmit a lot of sound, and you might get complaints. I'm lucky my dorm has thick brick walls so I can blast my music as loud as I want haha. I was actually looking at the Bonsai Tree kits at the store the other day... Mario
  21. Keep looking, check craigslist, local ads, etc. I feel that Z is overpriced as I have seen others in Florida score them way cheaper for a lot less. And 1300 miles?? That might get you into Texas where the Zs might be in better shape rust wise. Oh, and one of the best things my parents did was teach me how to drive stick first (and my sister as well). It's much easier to go from a manual to an auto the vice versa. Mario
  22. We just got a black on black Miata... but I think my mom likes 35mpg too much to cram a v8 into it... Cool vid. Mario
  23. midnightzxt had some made for his ZX and swats, and they look great! I'd try pm'ing or email him. Mario
  24. Looks awesome! That bug is trippy... Mario
