Frank no need for another thread as I do want to see people's setups!
Everyone thanks for the replies, I just got back from out of town so I won't be able to install it before getting back to college (but I hope I will have shop and welding access there...) so I'm going to try to get MSnS running on my 280z (copying my ZXT setup, already bought the dizzy).
OTM, though that idea sounds good, however have you ever heard a bad starter in which the bendix sticks? The non lubricated metal to metal contact of the gear teeth is insanely noisy!
280zedx, your setup is amazing and I've gotten a lot of ideas from it. Right now what I'm thinking is that I want to run the SC in place of the alternator, and put the alternator where the PS pump is on a ZX. One of the difficult things is the size of the M90, it seems a lot bigger then yours based on the pics. It does look like I will have to switch to electric fans to clear the pulley if I do bolt on a serpentine pulley.
Any links to mods I can do to the supercharger?
Also if possible could you post dimensions of your mount? If I can't fit the SC where the alternator goes I will be mounting it similarly.
Other ideas that I've had include running the piping behind the engine, or using a v-belt to serpentine belt adapter, kind of like a v-belt idler with a serpentine pulley bolted to it. I wonder what happened to AZ Zcar's serpentine pulley set... Only ZRaceProducts seems to be offering a serpentine damper but it's like $700!!! I've been wondering if I can find OEM pulleys that I can redrill to switch everything to a serpentine belt...
How do you search for OEM serpentine pulleys? Is JY recon the only way?
Also, this SC came with the TB (which is huge!) and the MAF sensor is built into it. I think I might just run MSnS-E with MAF support and not run a MAP sensor since most MAF have altitude compensation handled internally. This is kind of important since I will be going from Tucson to Flagstaff a lot, which is almost 5k ft of elevation change. MS is still a little buggy in altitude compensation without adding another MAP sensor.
What's nice about the M90 is according to the specs I've seen I just have to spin it 2k rpm less then the M62 and it flows a lot!
Also, my SC came with what seems like an electronic valve that seems to control the bypass. So I think I'm going to have a SC switch
Kjones and Z-ya, I had plans for a home made JCR type kit, but it would require a custom extension as well as a custom intake.
First things first is to install MS to pretty much gut the passenger side of the bay, and switch the fusible links to a fuse box mounted out of the way.
