cobraz240z
Ok I have 1970 240z Im about to paint, the car is silver I wanted to paint it red orange somewhere along that line what do you guys think?
AK-Z
Eh. One of my cars was that "BRE orange," or what ever it was called. Crappy paint job, I got sick of it. Well thats just my opinion. I would/am going to paint (when its ready, gonna be a long time) mine a peppermint grey base, with a clearcoat with black and deep blue toner (tint) and top it with a clear with a less blue toner. But thats just the idea right now. I still have to experiment to see if thats what I want. Might change the peppermint grey to a charcoal grey or darker. If the orange is what you want then, go for it, just make sure its done well thats all with good quality paint (quality isn't dictated by price, though most cases it is). datsun40146
I have always have a thing for pepermint gray metalic, and black racing stripes. This color combo was used on the elenor mustang. Ive seen that color in person it turly is amazing
hotimport
Yeah the peperming is great color choice but its very neutrual, I also have seen in person on a Z. My car was originally painted 304 gold which was ok but it was original paint and had faded and cracked from the sun. I am going to go with 920 gold its a bit brighter and has like a yellow tint to it very eye appealing. Or my other idea was to paint it like the 97 Toyota Supra Saphire pearl blue. 240hoke
I like dark metallic blues, but i think jsut about my all time favorite color is PURE WHITE. Some people may disagree, but i think it is one of hte most elegant colors you can paint a car with. Im a big fan of the midnight blue on the bmw m3 also

alexideways
I like LagunaSeca blue on the BMW M3 and I wonder how somekind of TypeResque championchip white would look on a Z
hotimport
Oh yeah the the 98 Type-R Championship white is a great color to paint the Z. The Laguna blue on M3 is great paint but i love the Pearl Blue, sort of like Austins car but a notch lighter and it has that pearl in it. alexideways
I'd go with the Laguna blue but, with a dark blue tint in the last coat of clear.
BayAreaZT
Pure white looks really classy on a S30. I may go good ol guards red on my car. I always liked red on S30s but never considered it until I bought my current car. I guess it grew on me.

Z-Gad
I've always liked the '72 lime-yellow... that's why I chose it when I painted my
mason4300
Sparky, that second car looks awesome. the color makes it appear very smooth. I'm going to paint my car silver if I have it my way. Currently it's some ruddy orangish color that probably used to look good until it faded....
HoustonZ
Sparky, your car is EXACTLY what I want mine to be!
datz280
Two of my favorite zcar colors are the original 920 gold and 918 orange. I do like some of the metallic blues; otherwise I prefer the solid bold colors. One color I have noticed lately is on the Nissan Extera and is a solid burnt orange.
