MJLamberson
ENGINE: f54 block with stock turbo pistons, n42 head with NA cam. ARP hardware. TURBO: T3 at 7psi with supra MKIII intercooler, boost at 2500rpms FUEL: zxt 270cc injectors ELECTRONICS: :( stock NA ECU with "tuned" NA afm EXHAUST: 3inch DP with 2.5inch exhaust HP: Lower then a stock NA l28!, or so it feels... NOTE TO ALL: I just finished putting this together, its one of the many things Ive been doing to my Z while Ive been away... It pretty much runs like crap and I need MS, or at least a turbo ECU/wiring harness. Got one for sale? 707-252-6070, please let me know! Soundmasterg
Chris and Big Phil, both of your cars are making tons of power with just a L28 without the diesel crank? Thats amazing! What is it about your builds that gives you all the power and torque? Custom cam grind? Bigger injectors? Big turbo with lots of boost? It would certainly be cheaper to build a turbo engine with the stock 2.8L crank than to hunt down a diesel crank.....and if it makes that much power that way, then it makes me wonder why I'd bother looking for one.... texis30O
L24 block, balanced and blueprinted, Aeris 9mm pistons E-88 head, o-ringed, Racer Brown cam, Not sure about the valves or the springs but know that it was all replaced with high-end siht back from 1979-81. MSD 6-T ignition, Mallory coil, MSD Super-conductor wires, Pertronix pick-up Turbo Tom kit, Holley 660cfm carb ( was just rebuilt by Dan Davinci) Water injection I have put in a Centerforce Dual-friction clutch in the 4 speed. I don't have a lot of faith that the R180 rearend will stay together or the transmission for that matter with this thing being as stout as it is....( just more parts for me to change out) I have not dyno'd the car but will when I get the cracked manifold fixed as well as a exhaust leak. It will be a while before this sees a dyno. I have a few other parts I want to change out. The car sat in a garage for about 15 years without being started or touched, I have been going through it slowly for the last 2 years and I think it will be about that long untill I am done with it completely. Here s the thread on the car.... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=117481

Haven’t tuned yet??? The Heat really made a HUGE difference in power...the 280rwhp was using a 2.25 exhaust and the 308 had no exhaust but was hot outside!!! I wonder what the 308 would be if it was 60 degrees outside? Going back to the dyno soon so I may play with a few things…Tune the car for the 25PSI on meth –or- Leave the car @ 20PSI and hit it with a Wet 75 shot. Still haven’t decided which way to go yet. I have 4 blocks in my garage so I might just have to see what the stock block will hold with a good tune.
