I couldn't believe it! I dunno what it is.. but linkin park and metallica freak out when anyone uses their music. wtf
Administrators BRAAP Posted January 11, 2009 Administrators Share Posted January 11, 2009 I received the exact same E-mail from YouTube a couple weeks ago. Video of dropping a LEGO dude out my RC airplane, him parachuting back to Terra Firma. I used a ZZ-Top sound track! DOH!
cygnusx1
Happend to me twice. Once, they gave me the option of leaving the song there as long as they could show ads pertaining to the band on the page. It was either Red Hot Chili Peppers or Rush....can't remember. Of course I said yes and I thought that was a great compromise and solution! Too bad all bands don't follow this approach. UMG had Youtube partially block one of my videos with the Counting Crows on it. They blocked it "in some countries only".

garvice
Ok, I got to ask. What do you do for a living? It seems like you are always just fooling around on your bikes. Don't get me wrong, I am envious. Just wondering what you physically do.
S130Z
Just pull a sound clip of your new Garret and dub it over every video that you have. That would probably be way better than any other Lincoln Park song. Or just get into underground hardcore, they don't care if you copy their songs. I really do think that song compliments the video very well though.

I own a Pepperidge Farm cookie route, and escort Funerals on a Police 05 Honda ST1300.....but I'm not a cop, I do have the permit to do it, and work with mostly police officers while doing it. MY BIKE: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/05-Honda-st1300p_165000.htm You Tube also would not let me put that video up at all?
mikeatrpi
the security guards took my memory card!! I would have spazz'ed. Especially a few years ago those things were expensive, nevermind the personal photos you might have had stored. I think we're long overdue for an entertainment industry revolution. rossman
What better advertising for the band than to have a cool guy like Phil blaring their music in his hot rod video? I could understand if it was some riced out punk kid though...
Forrest
I suggest a total boycott on any artist/company that pulls this crap. It's free advertisement for them at NO COST and if they don't appreciate it, F them. There are millions of other musicians to listen to.
