Administrators BRAAP Posted August 28, 2009 Administrators Share Posted August 28, 2009 Has anyone seen such an abortion rival this? A professional competition vehicle? Why bother with a moniker in the grill? SAAB would be more fitting don’t you think? And to think, it is supposedly BMW powered!?!? Double face palm! rags
I kinda like it myself. Definitely shows thinking outside the box! No pun intended
Scottie-GNZ
Abortion? What's your point? It's a tube chassis drag car that you add your choice of drivetrain and body panels. No different than say a Winston Cup car . That happens to be Europe where sedan race cars are the most popular. Ever notice all the big-time production car racing in Europe is for sedans? dhp123166
Are you apart of the reVolvonation? No, just a tad sarcastic. However, now soccer moms can race!
Administrators BRAAP Posted August 28, 2009 Author Administrators Share Posted August 28, 2009 (edited) My apologies. I was referring only to its visual appearnce. I agree, the car is mechanically a very well engineered incredibly fast masterpiece. A Volvo body that is correctly proportioned would look good, but that example is "visually ugly in my opinion. My point is why bother with a moniker badge! Scratch build a visually flowing body that matches itself proportinately. Not a factory car that is unrecognizable without a badge on the grill! Even NASCAR retains some symmetry in its visual proportions even though they all look the same?! Edited August 28, 2009 by BRAAP
Tony D
Europe...strange place. Interesting they are flying the Red White and Blue next to the Eurotrash "Swedish Hot Rod Association" winged sno-cat (or is it a fire engine)... Maybe the chef from the muppets was involved and something got lost in the translation?

PanzerAce
See, the real reason they put the volvo badge on the front is that it makes the car invulnerable. The walls know they are going to lose to a volvo, so they jump out of the way

JMortensen
When I worked at a Volvo dealer in the mid 90's the service manager Per Heldin (a Swede who raced a Firebird in ITSS, incidentally) had that poster on his wall in his office. maichor
Didn't you know, owning a Volvo is better than a Ferrari http://www.metacafe.com/watch/61689/volvo_kids/ I looked all over for the commercial that was just race footage and a volvo wagon flys by and it pauses and rewinds and then the caption says, "Yep, its a Volvo Wagon."
