  1. If you want to say with one amp, its probably going to be more expensive. I had two Hifonics amps that I bought used and I blew one out. The other still works fine. Wiring up multiple amps isn't all that difficult with the wide selection of distribution blocks and wiring needs. Here's what I'm going to wire up in the Honda as soon as I get it running properly: Front 6.5" components (seperate tweeter and mid-range speaker) from CDT, rear 6.5" components from MA Audio, and two 10" CDT short throw subs. All this will be powered by three amps. Two Blaupunkt T-Class 2 channel amps and one U.S. Acoustics 2 channel amp powering all the speakers. I know one of my Blaupunkt amps will power the subs, but I'm undecided on whether the other Blaupunkt will power the front or rear speakers. The subs will be in custom enclosures and the amps mounted to the back of my rear fold down seats. Everything will be protected with mesh grills and kept secret with some home stereo speaker covering cloth. I'm going to run 0/1 gauge knukoneptz.com wire from the starter to the battery in the back, then 0/1 gauge from the battery to a 1 farad capacitator, then from there to a distribution block split into 4 gauge wires running to each amp. Ground wires will consist of 4 gauge running from each amp to a distribution block into one 0/1 gauge amp. Three pairs of RCA interconnects from knukonceptz.com, one running from each amp, to the head unit.
  2. Mike, is this the sub you bought? http://www.cardomain.com/item/POWFBX12 If so, even though it says its 700watts RMS, I'm sure you can get some good sound out of a 500watts RMS amp which may get expensive. I believe this is the manual for the sub, which from I've seen is made by Power Acoustik, right? If you can get the box minus the sub woofer, then I would do it, because from what I've read you don't like heavy bass and amping that sub can cost quite a bit to do it right. Here's a $70 MB Quart Discus 12" sub on http://www.sounddomain.com http://www.cardomain.com/item/MBQDWE304 The recommended RMS wattage is 175, which is much cheaper to amp. For the MB Quart sub, you could get away with this Alpine amp from here: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13201 You could also do this US Acoustics one, but it may be a bit much: http://www.cardomain.com/item/USAUSC2080. Here's what I came up with for the big FBX sub: http://www.cardomain.com/item/USAUSC2100 or http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=12398 For your speakers, assuming there all require about 70 watts RMS (From what I looked up for the Blaupunkts I could find. Are they components or all together? I couldn't find any info on the DB Bass 3 ways.) For those I would use this amp: http://www.cardomain.com/item/USAUSC4065. If you want to step it up on power to 85 watts x 4 channels RMS, then I would use this one: http://www.cardomain.com/item/USAUSC4085. I'll see what else I can find. Do you have your wiring worked out yet, because I would probably suggest running a capacitator and some large gauge wire to everthing? Have you worked out where you want to mount the amps, because the amp's footprint may also help you make your decision. Generally, the more powerful the amp, the larger it is, unless you can find where to buy those Blaupunkt amps, but I have no idea where to get them anymore. Hope this helps
  3. Mike, my two favorite amp companies for the price are U.S. Acoustics and Blaupunkt T-Class ones. My recomendation for is price is to use 2 or 3 amps. One 4 channel for the 6.5s and another for the sub, or two 2 channel amps for the 6.5s and one for the sub. All in one amps can get quite pricey and they don't seem to put out the wattage as seperate ones. A couple of things to look for are the right RMS wattage, high signal to noise ratio, and at what voltage does the company test their amps. Now, for wiring, if you haven't bought all of it already, I would highly suggest going to http://www.knukonceptz.com, because their stuff is priced very reasonable and quality equal to, or above that of Monster Cable. Mike, do you know the specs of your speakers and sub? If so, I may be able to help you picking out some good amps if you haven't already decided on what you want.
  4. I agree, the sanctions were one of the worst things ever to happen to the Iraqi people. It did nothing to those in power and destroyed how everyone else lived. Honestly, I'm not really sure about Saddam invading Kuwait at that time. Basically, as I understand it, it was a British colony made so they could make money off the oil and not the Iraqis. In that respect, I could really care less. Now, when it comes to another leader, doing Hitler type things (like taking over neighboring countries), that gets me worried. Now, when I say it all comes down to making money, I mean the long run. What about all the American companies over there now getting contract after contract to rebuild the country. In that respect, its only going to get better. As soon as Iraq is running itself and safe, say hello to McDonald's, Burger King, Starbucks, MTV, the iPod, etc... The real question is, will oil prices come down if, and when Iraq becomes sovereign again? The other part of "It all comes down to money," was not solely directed at America. The other countries mentioned prior to this post were in a position to make a huge amount of money from the Iraqi sanctions being lifted. Having a huge hand in how Iraq is rebuilt will help dictate whether or not our country will gain by it. I'm not saying, we, the everyday people will, but those in positions to place get business rolling in Iraq will. Unfortunately, my generation (those that are between 10 and 25 I think) will be paying for this for the rest of our lives. When it all boils down to it, I believe the world runs on money. As much as I would love to believe that the people that run many of these countries give a damn about any citizen of a foreign place, I can't do it.
  5. To check your facts on what was said by both sides: http://www.factcheck.org/article.aspx?docID=271
  6. Alright, I decided to further educate myself today and I found a few things that are a little interesting. People go on and on about Kerry being a flip flop voter, so I tried to dig up what I could about his record to figure some things out. This is what I found: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1079904/posts This one seems very damning at first, but then I did a little more digging to find the context of some of these bills, because its never black and white IMO. http://www.geocities.com/pentagon/2527/kerry12.html So then there's this one, but you have to read carefully. There are sections where it gives his actual voting record and others where it says he opposed something. Those are two different things. http://www.factcheck.org/article.aspx?docID=252 http://www.factcheck.org/article.aspx?docID=177 This appears to be a cool little site. Has some neat info and what appears to be a decent guide to finding stuff. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A57627-2004Sep2.html Lastly, this is an article from the Washington Post. If what they say is true, it becomes a little interesting. Now, last time I attempted to post some links to prove a point about Osama Bin Laden's training, I was told the info was taken out of context. I hope this isn't the same. I'm trying to find as much info from both sides as possible. Please post links and as much info as possible. I want to make sure I'm voting for the right person.
  7. All of Ford's forced induction powerplants are far underated. They had to up the power rating of the new Ford GT to 550HP (the new GT40), because it was making close 550HP at the wheels when it was rated at 500HP at the crank. The other great thing is the strength of the motors themselves. They can take a ton of mods. I wish I had some dyno sheets, but people with the GT's are pushing over 650RWHP with just a pulley and a few other minor mods.
  8. BRG dyno services is a pretty good, especially with carbs. http://www.brgracing.com/dyno.html Tell Jason and/or K.C. that Ryan Hart sent you.
  9. I'll try not to but in too much here, as I already have before, but I wanted to point a minor point out. There was a member on here, and I think it was a year and a half ago, that lived in the San Jose area. Anyway, we started talking a bit, about going karting, getting Z's running, etc... Basically, I came to find out that he had been interogated and jailed on 3 seperate occasions with no access to a laywer, no reasons why he was in some basement, and so on. I also found out he was 18 at the time and of Palistinian descent (wore a turbin and was growing the beard). I haven't talked to him in awhile, but last time I heard from him, he moved to Saudi Arabia so he wouldn't have to deal with the government's B.S. He just wanted to go to school, get a degree, and do some stuff with cars. Oh...he was born and raised in the United States.
  10. Mike and Forrest seem to know the ban pretty well, so I wanted to ask some questions. First, what exactly did the ban restrict? I remeber something about 10+ round clips, etc... Secondly, and this one is personal, what is the point of having an AK with a bayonet and folding stock, or a high capacity magazine? It should only take a few shots to kill something, or someone, then why 10+ rounds in a weapon, right? Is it the militia weapons thing? I just want to know why, that's all. I'm not trying to be an a**.
  11. That's one of those things that helps to put my faith back in humanity.
  12. Those numbers are very scary and telling at the same time. I still can't believe the last one though. People would trust a man who has never seen war, and not someone who spent time in the thick of it.
  13. Hmmm...Let me think. The same sort of thing happened here roughly 5 or 6 years ago I believe. We don't even need terrorists to cause those problems. We have our own children to gun down students in schools, just like Columbine. I'm not saying that people haven't liked us before, or will like us in the future, I'm saying Bush's actions have escalated the hatred to a point were I fear people may be more likely to act on it. We must also ask why people of other countries don't like us. Could it be that we supported sanctions against imports against them, i.e. Iraq? What is happening in Russia has very little to do with us or Bush somehow preventing it. Its another spin on an event to make it look like the current administration is doing an excellent job. Smear charges? (I'm guessing you mean some sort of slander) I know a bunch about the current administration. Don't know enough about Kerry, but I'm sure that many can source some up here. - Between Bush and Cheney, there are 3 D.U.I offenses. I believe Bush has one and Cheney two. I can't believe people can trust someone who gets in a car drunk once, let alone twice. - Government passed Haliburton oil contracts through for Iraq before we had even invaded. Cheney used to run Haliburton. Funny - Bush claims to be a family man, even though his two daughters were caught more than once out drinking under age at bars. If you don't know what your children are doing, how do you put yourself out there as a family man? - Bush said he spoke to God about invading Iraq, and God told him to do it. That is really scary to me. Those P.O.S. terrorists that bombed the Twin Towers more than likely did it, because God told them to, too. What happens when God tells the North Koreans to nuke the U.S.? - I remember Bush in the debates for the 2000 election saying he was going to be more isolationist. Not extend our military overseas. What happened? I'm sure the list is just as long as Kerry's, but I do want to clear one thing up about Kerry. People say he flip flops on issues. That is wrong. He supports the war in Iraq, but voted against it, because he didn't believe we were sending enough troups or had the right plan. Anyway, this thread just gets more interesting. I want to make the right decision at the polls, so the more information that I get, the better.
